Not grand, no luxury and definitely not a boutique hotel. Even the name, among all the hotel details is misleading.
The room is tiny and uncomfortable. The worst part is the bathroom which is Spartan, has no tyles and the very little shower is, to say the list – uncomfortable.
The reservation department changed my booking dates without my approval, at higher price, and when I asked to return it to the original date they said that they are fully booked and refused to return the money.
Tiny room, third world bathroom and horrible reservation and reception.
I would not even consider of going there for free.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. This hotel is far from luxury. Our room was a small double room with balcony. The bathroom at the most was 1.5m square and had a 76cm square corner opening shower. It was a real squeeze to get in and out of the shower with it's very narrow opening. There were no tiles on the bathroom walls so there was areas of broken plaster and mould.
The wardrobe was made from cheap contiboard which had seen better days. One of the ring towel holders fell off the wall and we were concerned that if you touched the bedroom wall mirror that that would also fall off as well. The bedside tables were tree stumps. There was no tea/ coffee making facilities.
Most of the hotel interior was painted white and it was all very bland with no paintings or photos to be seen. It just lacked any character. The concrete stairwells reminded me of our local football stadium
The one thing going for it is it's location in beautful Argostoli. Pablo, who seemed to be in charge of the restaurant and bar was a real gentleman and very polite and helpful. Casandra in reception was also very nice and polite, helping us with our luggage when we arrived and left.
Someone said it is minimalistic which is a understatement
This is not a Grande Luxury Hotel When we booked this hotel it was advertised as a boutique hotel then the name changed omitting the Boutique There are no colours to the walls other than Black or White the floors were polished concrete as was the lift the shower room was 1.4m square with a shower a sink and a toilet with the door opening into the room if you are 16 stone with a chest measurement of 50 inch you cant get into the shower the hinges to the door were rusty as was the air con grill the Tv socket was hanging off the wall and the telephone never worked , no teaCoffee making facilities Tree stumps for bedside tables and although the room comes with a balcony (£30) per night extra all rooms have a balcony ?? The breakfast was on a table for you to choose for yourself but you could have something hot as long as it was egg or cheese, if the weather was hot the breakfast food is just left out and not on a cooled area. We stayed half board (not recommended) the menu changes every 5 days so twice in the fourteen days we stayed and ate in the restaurant twice the waiter Stakis is a pain, however Pablo at breakfast was a nice man all the taxi drivers refer to the hotel( as not so Grande) and i can only agree.
Good stay right in front of the marina.
I would recommend this hotel. It’s very modern, minimalistic but stylish. The breakfast had a wide variety of fresh food (including cooked) which was presented well.
The bedroom and bathroom were very clean with daily room service replacing towels, toiletries and bottled water. There was plenty of space in the bedroom and even a small balcony.
The staff were great but in particular Casandra the receptionist was really helpful and delightful. The waiter named Paul was extremely efficient at his job and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Thank you for looking after us so well Paul.
The location couldn’t be beaten as the hotel is within easy reach of shops, restaurants, ferry port, bus station, etc.
Extra drinks and food purchased at the hotel was reasonably priced.
If I had to find something to improve I would say more hooks are needed in the bathroom and the inside of the shower could possibly be tiled. The downstairs toilet in the reception area needs a lock on the door. I am being picky now!
Overall, it was a great experience staying at the Grand Hotel in Argostoli and we are thinking of returning next year.
The staff were excellent, very pleasant and helpful. Check in was easy and we got our key before the allotted time. The room was very clean and the bed and towels were changed every day. The breakfast had everything that you could ask for, I had poached eggs even though they weren't on the menu. The view from the hotel was amazing. The only downside was the room was extremely small with very little space, so our suitcases had to go out on the balcony from which our view was of 11 solar panels and a corrugated roof. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will probably return.
The rooms - we paid for a superior with sea view and yes, the view is fantastic but the room is small and a bit tired to be honest. It was serviced beautifully every day though. There is no tea/ coffee making facilities but if you ask reception they will give you a kettle and there’s a fridge in the room to store milk.
The staff are awesome - and super helpful.
The restaurant is lovely and Pablo ( running breakfast ) is a star!! I work in hospitality and wish he was on my team!! Ditto Sakis at night, who knows his wines and is eager to advise, a lovely man. We ate there one night and it was beautiful. I had the most delicious mushroom risotto.
All in all a great place to stay, would have given it a 5 but the rooms let it down to be honest
Wonderfully welcoming staff. Excellent location. Very pleasant breakfast experience. We would certainly return!
We stayed at this hotel before and loved it...4 years later we came back and it was just amazing. We had a room at the front of the hotel...yes it was small, as it is a boutique hotel, but it was big enough, spotlessly clean and very modern. The view was perfect. From the time we arrived Cassandra from reception took our bags to the room, she was helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The restaraunt and bar staff were always polite and helpful . We booked half board the breakfast was delicious and we could choose what we wanted from the main menu for our evening meal. The food was really good. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.
Thank You to all the staff for their kind hospitality during our stay and giving us such a wonderful holiday
Hotel is extremely clean, amazing staff from the reception to the chambermaids! a special mention will go to Paul in the restaurant quite unbelievable service with helping me to carry tea to the bedroom to serving breakfast etc nothing was to much trouble, we have been involved with hotels all our lives , he would be a member of staff that l would of liked to poach he is management material!
Property and location were wonderful! Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious.
Just back from a ten night stay at this fantastic hotel. It's located on the marina in the heart of Argostoli. Although it looks out onto the bay and the hills beyond the Grand is only a short stroll from the shops restaurants and bars that Argostoli has to offer. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless. The staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty to choose from at the delicious breakfast buffet. I can thoroughly recommend the Grand and am looking to book again for next year.
A lovely hotel opposite the harbour at Argostoli, with nice clean rooms, and very helpful and friendly staff.
Breakfast was as much as you could eat and covered all tastes.
Definitely would recommend this hotel.
Me and my friend and poet Garrett from Hawaii had a peaceful and inspiring stay at the hotel. We loved the spacious lobby, the waterfront restaurant, the modern design, the excellent care of the staff and the concierge.
The food and the Kefalonian wines were the best selection of products we found on the island.
Cannot recommend it enough.
Would love to be back!
A lovely hotel overlooking the harbour in Argostoli. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and you couldn't be made to feel more welcome.
The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice for all tastes.
This hotels strongest asset are it's staff. Cassandra and Isabel checked us in and we're great throughout our stay, as were the breakfast, bar and cleaning staff.
Location is also great on the seafront a very short walk to the ferry and town center.
Lobby and breakfast area are nice and rooms clean.
Now to the rooms. They are clean but far from luxury. They are very small and in need of decoration, especially the bathrooms.
They are also very noisy with very poor sound proofing. Conversations, ablutions and doors closing from other rooms can be heard with ease.
We had a sea facing balcony which had a great view but again was extremely small with barely enough room for two people.
All in all great staff but rooms disappointing at this price point.
We first popped in for a coffee & drinks and found it such a lovely place that we went back for an evening meal and we weren’t disappointed. It was delicious, great choice, very friendly and efficient staff & spotless. We will definitely be returning next year.
Just a wonderful hotel , really attentive and helpful staff . Breakfast was fantastic and the staff could not be more helpful in service and making you feel welcome
Amazing place!!!
It’s was a very nice hotel, only a little noisy in the mornings.
