One star is too high for this hotel. Allocated by Egypt Air, due to Heathrow problem. Room was disgusting, large patches of wall paint bubbling, door lock had been hacked open & replaced badly. Skirting & doors dirty. Cups cracked & chipped. Bathroom glasses unusable. Did not need torch, gap around main door gave plenty of light! Safe lifted out of cupboard.
Waited 1.5hrs for our plastic covered set meal. Evening meal no waiting, but the set meal was barely warm. Worst hotel I have ever been in
Estuve en dos habitaciones y en ambas se salieron las duchas
Se salió el agua de la ducha
The internet was very poor. I called them and told me the tech support is coming and no one showed up. Food was simple and ordered food, but they had nothing to serve.
It was under a bit of renovation, no ot bad.
Old premises but it has a potential.
Very promising.
Food needs to be improved more to be for foreign guests by ot just for local guests.
This hotel is far from Glorious. May be 30 years ago. The Welcome from the ladies on reception was far from warm. They were indifferent, arrogant and not helpful. Didn't understand English. The door to our room needed replacing, see photo. The room was not very clean, see photo. Damage to walls. Fuse board in the bathroom is considered dangerous in most countries, not in this hotel it seems, see photo! Could only get radio channels on TV but when we called the reception no one came up in the 3 days we were there. Constant sound of hammering and building work in the hotel lobby, our floor and floor below. They were using part of the hallway on our floor to make an extra bedroom, see photo. The restaurant where we had breakfast was dirty, options very limited. Half of the menu options for lunch or dinner dinner weren't available. The gym was dirty and half of the equipment were either dangerous or not working. We looked for the coffee shop in the basement as per sign but found soldiers with machine guns in the basement instead. Not sure what they were guarding, didn't hang around to ask. The hotel grounds is a community club. The pool is used by the locals from morning to midnight. I'm not exagerating when I say more than a thousand people use the pool in the 24hr period. They have swimming lessons for the locals from 3pm to midnight. There was no tennis court as advertised instead there was a football acedemy for the locals. Football pitch was rented out 24hrs a day. There was a Karate lessons on the grass in the hotel grounds. Most of the information on the booking.com site about this hotel is incorrect. Eg. No airport shuttle. Staff smoke in the hallways, toilets. I even saw some of the managers smoke in the lobby next to the no smoking sign. I could go on and on. In summary this is not a 4 star hotel. I give it 1 star. You have to be on your toes not to get injured. My son nearly slipped on the sand on the floor tiles in the hallway from the building work.
Terrible. Shower doesnt work and rooms need to be repainted.
This place is a mixed bag. I would stay again but it’s not great. The good: well located, decent food that is well priced. Mostly nice staff. It has good facilities
Not good: the noise at nights with weddings was bad- maybe request a room to the back. The pool is only open for a short period and is extremely busy- I personally wouldn’t be happy to wear a swim suit here- lots of eyes on us simply walking to the restaurant. Our teenage girls weren’t comfortable. It took 3 attempts to get coffee at the breakfast buffet. It’s worn out and tired. My biggest issue was two teenage boys (porters I think) at the door leering at our daughters
the room not clean. not safe. I got allergy by staying there.
I loved it. So much more character than staying in a fancy chain type hotel ....
Hotel is like a resort .... there is a security boom gate, so it means Uber has to come inside ...... so much better than standing on a (hectic) Cairo street !! Close to the airport ..... Uber to airport or city centre costs about €5 !
The hotel is very Egyptian ... didn't see many (any) other Western tourists here .... I loved it ! The reception staff can usually speak English and are really helpful !
Brilliant 25 metre pool, a proper lap pool. Hotel guests can only (officially) use between 10 and 2 .... pool is (sometimes) used for school groups outside these times.
A breakfast box is delivered to your room each morning. I only discovered on the last day, that there is a choice of two different types ... Oriental or Continental ... not sure what the difference is ! Enough in the breakfast box to feed me for breakfast and lunch ... there is a fridge in your room to store leftovers !
I ordered dinner at the hotel each evening. It's an experience ..... in a quaint & quirky way .... the food is really good and the pizza is really, really good !!
No alcohol is served at the hotel, but there is a shop down the road ... Bazaar Sakara which does sell alcohol apparently ... but it was shut for Ramadan. Maybe bring a corkscrew with you .... hotel didn't seem to have one ... but cheerfully pushed the cork into the bottle for me !!! LOL ....
The wifi is slow ... but I had just toured Egypt - stayed in some fancy 4 and 5 star hotels ... and the wifi was slow in most of them ..... recommend getting an Egyptian sim card ... but even hot spotting to phone, the internet speed wasn't great !
Yes, the shower is small ... but hey, the water is warm and it does the job !
While already in Egypt we needed to book a new hotel. We chose the Glorious due to the proximity to the airport and for its amazing price. It only took around 15 minutes to get to the airport and around 20 to get to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities.
The Glorious is a large, clean, spacious hotel, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel provides breakfast, but for us, it was delivered in a box after phoning room service (this may be because of Ramadan). Breakfast came with water, fruit juice, yogurt, bread, egg, and other things. We did order room service for dinner, and the pizza (cheese was different from what we were use to) and chips were yummy :D
The hotel has a swimming pool but unfortunately, we ran out of time to use it. The pool is only open to guests for a short amount of time. We heard that the hotel was also used as accommodation for the army, we didn't see many guests but it was a bit noisy by the pool in the later hours.
Our room was large, and clean, had a tv, tea, and coffee-making facilities, ample of free water, safe, and wifi, although the wifi in the room was pretty weak. The beds were super comfy and we had no issues sleeping! The bathroom shower was pretty small, however, this was the cleanest bathroom we had used in all of Egypt!
The staff were always happy and helpful. Whenever we needed anything they were happy to help. However, cab drivers did struggle to find the hotel entrance even with the full address.
We all loved the decor!

The glorious hotel was a good value for price paid.
The hotel was a very nice surprise, very classy and clean. The rooms are a bit dated by U.S. standards and there is no english tv.
The hotel is on a large complex with a beautiful pool and Restaurants. Be aware that because of the closeness of military facilities, most of the people staying there are military personnel and they are often all over the complex in uniform. I would stay there again.
This hotel has terrible service, if there is any at all. I tried to contact them regarding my reservation modification due to COVID-19, as the coronavirus prevented me from travelling as my airline cancelled all our fights. I sent them dozens of messages in English and Arabic, they never bother replying. I shall never book to stay with them again when we travel to Egypt again next year after coronavirus is getting better, neither shall you.
From the 14th to the 15th of july, I stayed in the Glorious Hotel. Unfortunately, this stay was by far not as plesant as I expected it to be.
Seen this was my last day of a 7 week trip, I decided to end this trip with a beautiful accomodation. I wanted to enjoy the sun during my last day, so I searched for a hotel with a swimming pool. After swimming I wanted to have diner, take a nice warm shower and have a good night sleep before my long flight back to the Netherlands. All pretty simple wishes for a nice last day in Egypt. According to booking.com, your hotel was a perfect candidate for those wishes with a acceptable price of 55 dollar per night.
After arriving I dropped my luggage in my room and went to the swimming pool. I saw some beautiful pictures on booking.com and was looking forward to it. When I arrived, I was confused: the pool was crowded with kids swimming for a training. Also there were a lot of (totally dressed) parents aside the swimming pool. This made me feel very uncomfertable and ashamed in my small bikini. I wondered if this maybe was the wrong pool and asked the staff if the hotel had another pool. Nobody from all the staff at the swimming pool could speak English, so I had to go back to the reception. Eventually I got a wristband that gave me permission to swim in between all the kids during their training that lasted untill 10 pm. Not exactly what I expected after seeing the pictures on bookig.com (see attachment).
After laying next to the pool for some time (and have been asked to go on pictures by some 30 kids because of my blond hair colour... not very relaxing) I went to go for diner. I was sad to find out that diner was only served after 8 pm. Luckily the restaurant also had a set menu. Unfortunately, this menu was only presented on a arabic menucard. I ended up eating some fries next to the swimming pool, which was a whole challenge to order, seen again nobody spoke English.
After diner I just went to go to my room to get a warm shower and a good night sleep. Two very easy wishes that also a simple hotel from just 10 dollars per night could take care of. But, again this was a problem. The boiler in the bathroom did not work, dispite the fact it was turned on. I accepted the cold shower and just went to bed after the cold shower. I finally laid in my bed and closed my eyes. Just for a few seconds I was relaxing, but then very loud music started. I looked out of my window and saw a wedding party going on. The bride looked beautiful and it was nice to watch. But after two minutes watching, I just wanted to go to sleep because of my long flight the next day. Well, this sleeping was not really an option with all the loud wedding music. Rudiculous that nobody warned me about this.
The next day I checked my credit card payments online. As a final lovely surprise I saw that the hotel charged me 70 dollars in stead of 55?!
So, in the end, my last day in Egypt turned out to give me lots of stress in stead of having a relaxt closure of my trip. The hotel and it's facilities were nothing like booking.com pretented them to be. I am very disappointed and wish to get a full refund of the (to high amount of) 70 dollar I paid.
good location , good service ,food and drink good price , easy to find any transportation to any way,the only thing is they treat the military people way better then any body else
It was ok.
Not as good as a 4 stars hotel.
The bathroom were smelly and dirt
