Hotel La Settima Luna

A small hotel 5-10 minute walk from the shore. It has only about 3 parking spots, but there is plenty of street parking immediately around it. It's listed as 4-star and even has that painted on the wall in the dining area, but I feel like that rating must have been quite a while ago, with lots of deferred maintenance piling up since then. Our room's ground-level balcony door could not be latched, and there were multiple non-working light bulbs and a large gob-of-caulk shower repair in the bathroom, etc. The walls are paper thin, which became a problem for us when the neighbor started watching TV at full volume at 11:30 pm, and then at 12:30 am decided to place a long, angry phone call lasting nearly an hour. This inconsiderate behavior was not the hotel's fault of course, but just be aware you will be at the mercy of other's bad behavior. There is no staff on site overnight, so there is really no recourse unless you want to confront the angry neighbor personally. Bring ear plugs.

On the plus side, the staff were friendly and the on-site pizzeria was excellent. The owner was very friendly and engaged us in a 20 minute conversation upon learning we were American. On the down side it was a very one-sided conversation where he told us that all the horrors in Ukraine were staged for TV, the Serbian Orthodox church was the only true religion, he likes Americans but hates America, and consistently referred to Croatia as Yugoslavia. I didn't feel like we made a real connection, but it's hard to be mad when he gifted us a nice bottle of Prosecco upon checkout.

Hotel La Settima Luna in Bašanija is a gem! Cozy, quiet, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Delicious breakfast, amazing pizza, and fantastic coffee made my stay wonderful. Free parking and just a short 300-meter walk to the beach. Highly recommend!

A true standout of a hotel with super accommodating staff. Freshly remodeled room and bath. Breakfast was consistent high quality food on all the days of our stay. Coffee espresso’s and cappuccinos had a European style zip and body. Staff went above and beyond in servicing every single need! Will be coming back here as there’s no hotel like this anywhere around the area.

Alle waren sehr freundlich. Das zimmer sehr sauber und liebevoll gestaltet. Jeden tag wurden alle Hand- und Badetücher gewechselt obwohl man es nicht auf den Boden gelegt hat. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr groß, für jeden Geschmack war etwas dabei. Ideal für Pärchen.

We made a spontan reservation and this was a good idea. Nice, familiar hotel with less rooms. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and comfortable and we spend a grate time there. Short way to the sea and several different Restaurants around. Only small point could be better. The mattress are very soft. This is a hotel to come back.

Nice small private hotel. BIG breakfast, perfect espressso. Good pillows, but average bed and bathroom.
Very warm and intimate. 5min walk from the beach. 3min walk from degrassi winery (highly recomennd)

Nice hotel but pretending to be a 4 stars boutique hotel!!!
Reception closes very early at night/evening....(probably around 7-8 pm)
Total white is very cool, indeed....but it needs to be impeccable which was not, we found stains on chairs and bedsheets
Position is good although far from Umag center, but at walking distance from a nice beach and lighthouse

Excellent boutique hotel not far away from Umag (5-10 minutes drive). Rooms are very well kept, modern, quiet, big bathroom, huge bed, a balcony, free wi-fi in public areas as well as in the room. There is a free parking space in front of the hotel. Service was also excellent and very friendly with a drink on the house upon arrival. The hotel is also 200m from Degrassi winery which is a must when in Istria. Definitely worth recommending and an excellent value for money.
