Quirky hotel that is clean and comfortable
Pros:

Quirky hotel in a good location with friendly staff who are happy to help.

Cons:

We had an overflowing water tank outside our room which kept us awake.

Nicely designed. Good location to explore the area on foot. Friendly staff who helped organize well-priced transport.

Cons:

No views of the surrounding area due to small compound hemmed in by other properties. Concrete structure underlying the wooden exteriors and small windows keep rooms cold.

2 nights in Queenswood Cottage
Pros:

Great location, lovely staff.

Cons:

We were given a room upgrade and loved the double height space with mezzanine level. Short walk to the centre of town. We left an earbud behind and the manager Mahendran very kindly posted it by courier to our next hotel. Highly recommended!

Wir hatten ein Zimmer im unteren Stock und konnten unsere Nachbaren oberhalb sehr sehr gut hören beim rumlaufen. WLAN hat teils nicht funktioniert

A nice hotel setting with pleasant rooms. Need for better management and staff training.
Pros:

Comfortable bed and room.
Willingness of staff to carry bags.
Most staff were polite and did their best.

Cons:

The staff were left down by inadequate training, not their fault.
A wrong sign for access to wifi was left in the room even after requesting it removal.
One of the TV remotes had missing batteries. Had to ask for it to be rectified and for controls how to be operated.
Morning 1: breakfast was issued to the table without request or clarification. Some food I was allergic to. What was available was not outlined. It could have been avoided. The tea served was coloured water, not allowed to brew.
Morning 2: buffet self-service breakfast. Bread and pastries uncovered allowing flies to hop around on it.
Feedback given to manager but some of it unheeded. Some staff excellent and willing. One in particular not working at all. Both days playing with his mobile constantly ignoring guests. Overall disappointing for a good prospect hotel.

Extremely nice place in Nuwara Elia
Pros:

The staff were extremely helpful and nice. The room was pristine clean. The restaurant has portions which were a ginormous size and it was delicious and we even managed to find gluten free bread and a decaf coffee which is extremely rare in Sri Lanka in general. Plus they knew what these things were which was a bonus.

Exceptionally cozy stay.
Pros:

The room was incredibly cozy. The water heater and room heater worked perfectly, making the space very warm and comfortable despite the cold weather. The bed was comfy, and the room itself was quite spacious.

Cons:

It would be a great improvement if light-blocking curtains were added to the upper deck windows. The morning sunlight comes in very hot and bright, which made it difficult to sleep in.

Mooi hotel, heel vriendelijk personeel, lekkere warme douche en kacheltje(aangezien het s avonds flink afkoelt). Mooie ruime kamers en prima locatie. Lekker uitgebreid (ook westers) ontbijt

Pros:

Wenige Minuten zum Eingang des Victoria Parks und neben einer Pferderennbahn, wo meistens Cricket gespielt wird.
Die Kinder liebten die zweistöckigen Zimmer. Das Bad war super. Auch die kleine Wiese zwischen den Gebäuden bietet sich zum Durchatmen an.
Auch das dazugehörige Restaurant war solide.
Billard eine angenehme Abwechslung.
Schade sind wir nur eine Nacht geblieben.
