Nous avons appris en arrivant que l'hôtel ne pouvait pas nous accueillir. Le responsable n'a même pas tenté de nous contacter par mail pour nous prévenir...
Nous avons été relogés dans un établissement à proximité, soi-disant de qualité équivalente, mais l'une des chambres que l'on nous a attribuées était sale et sentait mauvais.
Le responsable nous a tout de même invités à venir prendre le petit déjeuner le lendemain matin, nous lui avions bien indiqué que nous devions repartir tôt. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés devant l'établissement à l'heure convenue, nous avons trouvé porte close, une fois de plus sans explication ni tentative de nous joindre. Il faisait très froid et nous étions avec nos deux enfants... fort heureusement le gérant d'un hôtel situé en face nous a permis de manger dans son restaurant.

Nous sommes arrivés le 26 décembre et ont nous annoncé que le chauffage était en panne et serait réparer le lendemain. Nous avons donc dû passer une nuit dans un autre hôtel au double du tarif. Puis le lendemain, on nous annonce que la réparation ne peut malheureusement pas être faite et qu'il faut que nous trouvions un autre endroit. Il n'y a même pas eu de proposition de nous aider à trouver un autre endroit. Nous nous sommes retrouvés à devoir chercher un autre logement pour notre séjour et ou nous avons du dépenser le double, faute d'hôtels disponible en cette période.

I booked the property and received confirmation . However when I attempted to check in , quite late at night , I was told the boiler was not working and my booking was invalid - so I had to seek accommodation elsewhere in the middle of the night . The staff were very polite so no fault of theirs however it didn’t change the outcome .

Upon entering my room, it was immediately clear that it had been left completely unheated for a prolonged period before my arrival. The radiator valve in the bedroom had been left on 0/OFF, meaning no heat had been circulating at all throughout the day. Although the central heating system is technically functional — as demonstrated by the bathroom radiator working properly with its valve fully open — the bedroom had reached a very low temperature, and the system was unable to raise it to a comfortable or habitable level within a reasonable amount of time.



When I asked for a heated room, I was informed that all rooms were the same and that guests are expected to turn on the radiator valves themselves. This confirms that rooms are not pre-heated prior to arrival, representing a clear procedural failure rather than an isolated inconvenience.



Despite opening the radiator valve myself and allowing several hours to pass, the room remained uncomfortably cold well past midnight. The contrast between the warm bathroom and the cold bedroom further indicates that the issue is not a technical malfunction but a failure in pre-arrival heating and temperature preparation, which is essential during this season in the Highlands.



When I raised this issue at check-in, I was reassured that “the room will warm up, don’t worry.” Unfortunately, this reassurance proved inaccurate, and no alternative room, portable heater, or other mitigation was offered. As a result, I spent the evening in a room that did not meet basic comfort expectations.
