I stayed here once before and it was ridiculously loud but they told me next timw to ask for a room at The back of the building. I did and made a reservation but when I turned up they had given my room away because they had another person check in who was staying two days longer. Absolutely terrible service.
The Hotel was very clean, the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the stay. The Hotel is in the middle of the center and close from de placa de armas. Room is simple but good and clean. I would come back in this hotel.
Paid 120 pen (at check out the wanted 126 with no explanation) which is 80 pen too much for a hotel of this standard.
Hotel was supposed to pick us up, nobody came
Took taxi to hotel and hotel was closed. After knocking on the door and almost giving up someone opened
No hot water in shower
No WiFi working except for in the reception
Aircon extremely noisy
Room smelly
Room not clean
Does not accept mastercards
They use a lot of freshener spray, a lot

My partner and I stayed here for one night before our commute to the Amazon. We chose this hotel based on the promise of hot water and air con... We received neither. The room was small, but clean. The hotel manager was helpful despite his limited English, helping us to navigate around Iquitos.
La atención muy buena. El local limpio.
Prisen taget i betragtning kan hotellet anbefales.
We were five hours late due to plane problems but the staff were waiting for us and were always friendly , courteous and helpful. The room was adequate, the bed comfortable and the everything was clean. There was no hot water but it was not freezing cold either and since the temperature in Iquitos is always hot and steamy it was refreshing. The staff even rigged up a portable AC unit for us in the waiting room while we waited for our tour guide. There are restaurants and cafes close by and we had BBQ chicken and plantain at midnight next door to the hotel and empanadas for breakfast at a local cafe. The hotel is near the main square and all kinds of shops as well as a walk along the river. I would definitely recommend this as a perfect, economical choice in Iquitos.
I think this has been my worst hotel experience anywhere in the world. Besides being forced to avoid eye contact while being on the toilet because there was no door handle on the bathroom and door didn't close, the whole floor had a horrible smell (3rd floor), the ac was fixed on 6c difference with outside which at night was too cold and in general shouldn't be over 3c anyways, the hotel had either inside or next door construction that woke us before 7am. Left after 2 nights, had booked and paid for 3.
There was no water at all for a whole day and night, neither in the toilet nor the shower. They said it was something in Iquitos and not the hotel itself, but nobody else in town I talked to had experienced any problem, or heard of someone who had.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions.
These are the positives:
The staff is very friendly and as helpful as possible, just like other reviews say. The hotel is in a very walkable location.
The negatives:
On both occasions we've stayed here, the rooms have run out of water. This can be quite annoying and frustrating when you're on a tight schedule, go to shower in the morning, and there's no water. There is also no hot water in the showers, just FYI. On our second occasion staying here, we arrived late at night, but our room didn't have any towels so we had to walk back down four floors to request towels, one of which is covered in stains. This was an issue the first stay as well, as they only had one towel for our double occupancy reservation. There is mold on the ceiling in our room and our bathroom. The hotel also claims that all their rooms are off the street so they're quiet. This is not true. We were placed in a room right on the street and it's so noisy, even with ear plugs, that we're changing hotels.
Gracias

Noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in and so the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Reception seemed pretty clueless every time I tried to communicate with them. Gaps around the glass door let every noise in and thin blinds let the light in, not exactly block out.
I have stayed at Emperador Terraza twice already and will be returning in the Spring. The rooms are immaculate, the staff goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The location is fantastic and despite it being close to the center, the rooms are quiet. Highly Recommend.
Hotel sencillo bien ubicado, cerca a la plaza de armas
A nice clean hotel, with clean rooms and a good bathroom. Free airport transfers, which is a plus. The staff are useful, but its about 50/50 whether you will encounter someone who speaks English - many of them only speak Spanish.
Emperador Terraza is a small property, near the Main Square or Plaza de Armas. We stayed one week and felt like in home. Location is the best in Iquitos, an easy 3-minute walk to the Boulevard with a lot of restaurants and cafes.
Rooms are very nice, although limited space. Rooms are small, no windows facing the street thus are quiet.
Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. They always go the extra mile to make you happy,
No breakfast included but the hotel gives you a Card to get discounts in Cafezinho Cafe, tour operators and other reputable companies in Iquitos. All this for around USD 28 for an air conditioner room. I'll be back.
I tried to book a room here through Booking.com, but the booking page went blank when I was in an area of Iquitos with weak wifi, and it remained blank no matter how many times I refreshed the page, so I made a booking later somewhere else--only to find that my original booking had gone through on Booking.com, but it was non-refundable. I was double booked, so I went to the Emperador Terraza hotel directly, and they quickly and easily sorted everything out, and were lovely to deal with. I changed my dates and stayed with them later, and they gave me a nice, quiet room, the shower had piping hot water (many places in Iquitos don't have hot water), and car service to the airport was included in the price of just $22 a night. Staff members Carla and Rafael were really sweet, and were concerned about the cold that I had, and gave me various helpful suggestions. Good people, and I would stay there again.
We came to Iquitos for a couple of nights to stay in the rainforest. The first night we stayed at Emperador before going to the jungle and it was not too bad for the price. It definitely didn't look like the pictures but no big deal and they upgraded us to an air conditioned room with a fridge and decent shower so no big deal. The service was nice enough and they even offered to knock off 10 soles off our airport pickup because of a miscommunication. On the night we stayed with them after our jungle stay, they tried telling us they were out of rooms even though we had already reserved one, took 3 hours just to get towels, and demanded we give back the 10 soles for another miscommunication. Then all night we had to suffer through random poundings on the wall that sounded like construction. This room at least had a much nicer shower I guess...
We just stayed at the Emperador Terraza at the end of November and while the staff were nice the hotel wasn't. I know it was the end of the dry season and on some level I can excuse the lack of running water (they did bring up a jug so we could take a bucket shower which I would have been ok with). However, they also had no towels which makes the bucket shower kind of tough. The other issue was the sheets that just barely covered the mattress, as soon as you moved the mattress was completely exposed and not something I wanted contact with. i could live with the water but the towels and sheets were inexcusable .
I really hate to leave bad reviews like this but after 18 hours of travel this was a tough place to stay.
