Great location near the West Entry. Small & cozy.
We stayed at the historic chalet for a couple of nights in early October. We had a wonderful room with balcony on the main floor. Room was very clean. The bed was great.
The view from our balcony was amazing. The trees were changing colors, and it was so wonderful to sit outdoors to enjoy the view.
We had read some reviews about the train noise, but we were not bothered at all. The room was well insulated.
Front desk employees were kind and helpful. Pastries and coffee in the morning were delicious.
Beautiful hotel! We would choose to stay at the Belton again!
The restaurants staff was excellent – the front desk staff were terrible. Poorly trained, obviously uninterested in their job or their guests, clearly did not have an inkling of how to deal with guests at a unique hotel like this. motel six has better front desk staff- with some minor upgrades and major staff changes. This could be a truly great hotel.
Very unique period property. Very well kept. Be prepared as you’ve read that the rooms are small and the floors creak. Very pretty. Very clean. Staff great. Restaurant on site 100% one of my favorites. Kort was our waitress and she was amazing! Just remember this is not a new/renovated facility. Meant to be kept historical! Quite the unique experience!
Perfect
This place was beautiful! Tuckex back into the woods. Very cozy and comfy. Loved sitting on the ba k deck. The restaurant was delicious.
A nice historic place to stay but be warned there is no elevator. When making reservations, the facility should be making it very clear that there is no elevator.
Friendly staff. Quaint, small room with balcony. Historic, so squeeky floors, no tv, fridge, coffee pot or microwave. Not enough parking & need to drive to conveniences. Most expensive place of our trip with least amenities. Game room downstairs was nice. Small gift shop.
Old classic inn. Nicely restored with acceptable amenities. b\Bar and Restaurant excellent. Train passes by at all hours
The Belton Chalet is located just outside the west entrance to Glacier. The bed was comfortable. The staff were wonderful. The restaurant was excellent too. We loved the mushroom pappardelle with elk sausage and the bison meatloaf.
Beautiful grounds. Quaint setting. Room was small but part of the nostalgia. Lots of thoughtful little touches
First, the positives: classic, 115 year old hotel. Beautifully maintained, small but quaint rooms. No air conditioning, and it was August hot. The biggest problem is basically unsolvable, the railroad track and highway 2 is right next to the hotel. 10 freight trains at least went through there the first night, very noisy, and highway 2 is a main east west route. We tried to keep the window open for cool air but the noise made it impossible. We will not stay here again and would have passed if we had known about the issues.
Make sure you understand that the rooms are very tiny and have limited room for suitcases or bags and no dresser or closet or way to unpack. Also wish there was coffee service earlier or better yet a fridge and way to make coffee in the game room downstairs. This makes it really tough to get an early start in the mountains...
The place is very rustic. Room is tiny. Sink is in bedroom and not bathroom and hot/cold faucets are separate. Floors squeak and every noise from surrounding rooms can be heard.
Staff were very friendly, wonderful restaurant and bar. Room was dated with limited amenities, no refrigerator or microwave, very narrow shower. Very historic
The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean. The hotel is a unique historical place.
Nice historic setting.
.
Historic hotel in a great condition, looks and feels like a real mountain lodge. The lobby is super beautiful, nice place to hang out with others. The bed was comfortable, bath good size, everything worked well. Wifi worked very well.
It's one of the Classic Hotels in Glacier, a must do at least once in your life. We enjoyed our time at the Chalet, the fireplace and coffee and muffins were a nice treat in the chilly mornings. Make reservations for dinner, also excellent food and drink!
