Better places in and around Southampton
Pros:

All a bit tatty,

Cons:

Parking. used for long term by cruise types so no room for overnighters regardless of what is claimed.
No lift and plenty of stairs.
Expensive and poor restaurant downstairs. Keep clear of the steak pie meat so tough.
Another guest complained room was dirty.

Weekend stay
Pros:

The hotel location was perfect for a concert we attended in the area. Free parking was big plus for us. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was a nice size, clean and comfortable.

Cons:

We felt that the room was quite dated and could do with modernising but that didn't spoil our stay as it was very clean and comfortable.

Uncomfortable and sleepless
Pros:

They kindly let me check in early and provided me with a room at the back as requested. The first receptionist was helpful with local information. Generous with biscuits in the room. Close to bus stop.

Cons:

I actually didn’t realise hotels like this still existed. Like something from the 80s. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable. You could feel the springs. I wouldn’t have a mattress like that in my spare room for occasional use. I’m quite light I pity anyone heavier that has to sleep on it. Curtains that are so thin they let all the light in. These should be non negotiable. I wasn’t expecting a luxury experience but if you’ve paid for a room for the night you expect to actually be able to sleep in it.

Pros:

The hotel is out if town but close enough to walk.

Cons:

One of the rooms was not what we expected. It had a bath, the shower was a hand held head so you would need to sit in bath. Could not work out shower curtain.
Should change to a walk in shower.

Wouldn’t book again
Pros:

The breakfast was good, cooked fresh to order and plenty of it with a good range of choices

Cons:

I booked this room 8 months ago for a one night stay with my daughter. We booked a twin room which was fine. However we were in the ground floor overlooked by the car park and the car park lighting. Woken up early by the staff getting breakfast ready, empty buns etc into the dustbin right under the window. We were also given a disabled room, which was functional but not what we had in mind when we booked.

Does the job if a short stay .
Pros:

Location to the cruise port
Free parking
Nice breakfast

Cons:

Our room did not look like the modern photos , it was a big old and tired looking with a damaged bath panel but for one night it was good.
Floorboards in the corridors are very creaky and stairs are steep if you have any mobility concerns
