Stylish Boutique Hotel, excellent service, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated rooms and very comfortable beds. Surprisingly good and totally unexpected dinners for a hotel restaurant . Staff work very hard at providing a top notch experience. They are extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating. This hotel has a beautiful garden for evening meals and drinks.
It’s tough for me to say anything negative about this hotel. My only fair comment is that there is no Air conditioning in this relatively modernized hotel which is unfortunate. With temperatures on the rise globally including in the Uk, I propose the hotel owners consider that vents could be added above all room doors, and ceiling fans with lights be added to replace current ceiling lights in order to create more air circulation in rooms particularly on hotter days. I do appreciate that the hotel provides a table fan for each room , but unfortunately this is not enough to aid in a more comfortable experience on hot days in my opinion.

Breakfast didn’t start till 8am and we had to pick someone up from a cruise ship at 8 so we didn’t get breakfast

We have been to the Elizabeth hotel quite a few times and it’s beautiful the staff are so helpful and friendly we love going here I would highly recommend here breakfast was perfect

It was unbearably hot for the price of the room fans should have been supplied in every room or air conditioning should be installed. It doesn’t have enough parking for all the rooms.

Das Wetter war ungewöhnlich heiß und dadurch war es in dem Zimmer leider sehr warm.
Cannot fault the staff - all well meaning and available. The room was big (room 2) and the bar and outside garden are lovely.
We booked two rooms and had one. Although we were told in advance, we didn't get what we'd booked. The room was stifling in its heat. Whilst these are difficult conditions they had not made any effort to cool the room during the day.

Rust, chips in bath, no water pressure, really dated quilts, pillows. Had to put towels over the bedding so I could sleep

I didn't realize we had to go up a flight of stairs.
Very reasonably priced for the size of the room. We found it to be very clean and comfy. It came with plenty extra facilities in the room including a fan which was appreciated.
Found the restaurant and bar to be quite poor. We went there for dinner and both our meals were below the standard we would expect. The cheesy garlic bread tasted like it had been microwaved and did not taste of garlic. We ordered a pasta dish and a thai curry and both were bland. I ordered a Guiness to the table which tasted very watery. I subsequently learned it came from a can but was not told this when I ordered it. Very disappointing.
The rest of the hotel is quite good though.
The rooms were very clean ,the staff were very nice and polite nothing was too much trouble the food we had in the evening was lovely

Cleanliness of the bathroom wasn’t amazing. Pink mold in the tiles. The bed was also uncomfortable and the pillows were very flat
We booked just after 11pm on a Monday night. Through booking.com nice and easy.
The total cost was broken down in front of me. The venue messaged straight away with a list of helpful tips.
Planned arrival 11.30pm.
When we got to the venue we were told we had to pay an extra £15 for missing check in time of up to 11pm.
When this was challenged as it was not listed anywhere on the booking, under the business information or even in the direct message received we challenged it to be told nothing I can do it's company policy.
When asked to speak to a manager to confirm this we were told point blank no.
The staff member said his manager was in Newcastle and he wouldn't phone him as it company policy and must be paid.
When I said show me where he said on our website!
We were very tired and this did make us a little ratty but instead of trying to settle the complaint and call his manager he argued back and was rude.
I actually left the hotel in tears and we stayed at the travel Lodge.
Sorry but there needs to be better mention of this late fee so that your aware of it when booking. The staff member needs some training to not be so rude. It actually felt like he was pocketing the £15 he was that aggressive. He had no customer service skills he was like a robot.
I come from hospitality for over 25 years and would NEVER deal with a customer in the manner he did.
