A Diamond in the Rough
Pros:

Banlung is a dusty provincial capital without much going for it other than gem mines in the surrounding area. One diamond in the rough, however, was the Yeak Loam hotel. The clean, modern room paled by comparison to the wonderful, helpful staff. I hope to visit Banlung again, and when i do, ill stay at Yeak Loam!

Nice pool but eat outside and check the bill
Pros:

Booked the hotel for the pool,and were happy about that in this very hot town. The restaurant was expensive and bad value. The spaghetti tasted strange and ordered fried vegetables that arrived after a loong waiting time, half meat half mushrooms. Staff didn't speak much/any English so just pay and be happy. Many nice restaurants close by, all others we tried were perfectly fine. Nice view from rooftop bar with expensive drinks.

Great stay in Ratanakiri
Pros:

We had a great stay here. The room was very modern and spacious, great bathroom and all very clean, housekeeping every day. Very kind staff and accommodating. Although the manager seemed to be the least accommodating of everyone. The pool is lovely. We had food in the restaurant and drinks at the sky bar which was really cool. Just check your bill to make sure it's all correct and includes any discounts that have previously been offered to you. Otherwise a really lovely stay.
