The room furniture..just gorgeous
I has to present a training conference in Kamala and used this hotel to host the conference and also to stay in.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The conference facilities were great. My room was huge and very affordable.
The restaurant is not that great but the hotel made good recommendations for restaurants.
Initially we requested an airport pick up the day before we arrived - we sent two emails to the hotel but got no reply and had to make our own arrangements. The check in staff on the desk said ‘sorry’, the request would have gone to another section.
When we checked in the hotel was buzzing with conference delegates. The hotel advertised 3 restaurants, but we were only allowed one - the others being used by the delegates. In the evening when the delegates had left, only one of the restaurants was open, with a fairly limited a la carte menu. It became clear that there were very few other guests in the hotel as we saw hardly anyone else in the evenings.
Service in the one restaurant was very slow - one lunchtime we ordered just two bowls of soup which took forty minutes to arrive.
The hotel is very large and has a pool and spa/gym, which we did not use. It is quite dark, with low lighting and heavy wood features and appears to need a good refresh of decor.
Our room on the 8th floor was very large with a reasonably comfortable bed and effective air con. The bathroom was again large and well appointed, but in need of some cosmetic improvements - broken tiles, sinks that barely drain etc.
The only bar is in a dingy corner of the open restaurant with no atmosphere or comfortable seating - we kept well away!
Most staff did their best to be helpful, especially on the desk. Overall our stay was disappointing and did not live up to the descriptions on their web site.
While attending a dinner of Nabumali Alumni, Our team had to set in and we were welcomed by the reception desk. Had a few inquiries on the menu and other services which they share with us.
When we entered the hall, it was well decorated, spacious and nice. The food at dinner time was great and we had a great night too.
If one wants a spacious place to have a quiet evening, then this is the place. We plan to visit again.
I stayed at the hotel for five nights. the rooms are large, clean and relatively comfortable. my major disappointment was with the food. The Buffet was predictable, and we had essentially the same meal for the whole time i was there. Deserts lacked creativity as these were often just pineapples and watermelons. Even breakfast was the same trend. the food was the major let down of an otherwise comfortable experience.
This place is a fraud! There's hardly any daylight in this massive gloomy building. There's a steady smell of moist and dust. The breakfast buffet is a painful experience. Hundreds of empty bedrooms prove that people don't want to stay here... It is essentially used for training and seminar events. Meeting rooms have no windows and are poorly equipped. Any extra (printing for example) is very expensive. Never again!
I usually leave stuff like reading material and my coat/ shawl in the conference room overnight. On the third night I did not find my shawl where I had left it. I also found my really cute pen was gone. I asked the staff of the hotel but I got no assistance. I was referred to the people who cleaned the room on the evening I lost my shawl but I never met with anyone even though I was told to wait for someone to come see me about the matter.
Also, a tip: stay away from the fish.
The room is excellent and Casino is very good. I’d recommend it to my friends
Hotel rooms have some funny smell. Largely because it is less used, no guests
Hotel is centrally located.
Hotel staff are nice and friendly.
I was surprised with the size of the room. It was excessively huge for a standard one pax room. The huge space makes the room look so empty and dull.
Not a fancy hotel but it has the basics.
The only thing I didnt like much was the dark corridors especially in the evenings. I was at a corner room and it gives a scary feel. I hope they can add some lightings in the walkways to give a more pleasant feel.
Maybe just a bit of renovation and this hotel will be perfect.
I don’t think the hotel was worth the money they charged for the room. I’m need of serious updating and it smelt a little bit musty. The location was good though and pretty central. I would not class it as a four star hotel. The breakfast choice was very poor. Ended up eating breakfast out of the hotel even though it was included in the room costs. I will look to stay at a different hotel when next I’m in Kampala.
their food was nice the bed was ok and staff were friendly and helpful , the hotel is located in the city center therefore accessible however being in a city center there is some congestion and noise though its their own making . otherwise i recommend you stay with them.
it was on the 19/8/2018 when we travelled to Kampala and had a stop over at imperial Royalle hotel since we were to have a friendly match with their football team, the experience we had ranging from the concierges who welcomed us, they were so kind, I was taken through the facility by the housekeeping executive who showed me everything that they had, the friendly staff n the good ambiance will bring me back some other time, cant wait to come again, thanks for the friendly services,
This hotel is ideal for a business traveler due to its location near to the CBD. It is quite spacious with very large rooms. For an old hotel, the rooms are quite nice and quiet. The WiFi was surprisingly very good. The only drawback was that I saw a few cockroaches here and there. The food portions at the restaurant were very very generous. The gym is adequate but opening hours can be abit of a disappointment. The gym is supposed to be opened at 6:30 but was surprised to find it dark at 6:45. The aerobics class that was to begin at 6:30 started at 7:20. Overall, it is quite a good hotel for a business traveler.
If one is looking for spacious rooms, the Imperial Royale is the ideal hotel to book in. The hotel is huge and very quite. Good location for business trip as well as it is centrally located within walking distance to the central business district of Kampala.
Imperial Royale has spacious rooms and comfortable beds. It is in a secure place and central location from where one can move to meetings and other business activities. Internet in most rooms is good and the food is delicious.
Rooms are spacious. the hotel placed in one of the highly secured place in Uganda. Mid of the town. good to stay for business trip. traffic is a head-ache. good westernized breakfast. Little bit old hotel. Most of the local forums / company meetings will held in here.
I stayed at the Imperial for 2 nights while in Kampala for work. The food is awesome and really fresh which is not common with most hotels. The rooms spacious with a very enchanting ambience. Fast WiFi connection. Spot on service with very switched on service personnel.
