Beautiful hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Outstanding service from Abir and Elizabeth- friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful.
Be warned, recently attended a wedding near the hotel. The wedding party was packing up to leave the bridal suite and after a short trip to the car the wedding card box disappeared from their room.
We have stayed at this hotel several times. The lobby is elegant, and the rooms have been clean and comfortable. This visit we found a few issues that were problematic.
First, noise. This time we were on the seventh floor. We were awakened multiple times during the night from the noise outside the hotel: sirens, trucks, horns, etc. I don’t remember what floors we were on before, but I don’t recall the sound being a problem. Perhaps if you ask for a higher floor, you could avoid this?
Second, a somewhat early check-in. We were staying at the hotel for a wedding that started at 4:30. I called a week before our reservation day to ask if wecould get an early check-in of 315. After being transferred to multiple people, I finally reached the front desk, who told me that they couldnot guarantee an early check-in, but that they would make a note in the record. And that I would need to call back the morning were coming in to request it again. I called the morning of our stay at 8 AM. I asked if we could check in at 3:15 instead of four, and was told that that would be no problem at all. We arrived at 3:15 and our room was not ready. We were standing in the lobby in our shorts and sneakers, carrying our dressy for the wedding, with nowhere to go. Finally they agreed to put us in a different room than we had paid for, just so we could get in and get ready for wedding. This wasn’t a huge deal, but it seems like they ought to be able to handle this better.
The third issue was parking. We pulled into the valet, and were told that retrieving our car would take between five and 20 minutes anytimewe needed it. That’s a big window! Because we could not be late for the wedding we were attending, we ended up calling an Uber because we couldn’t risk a 20 minute to have the car brought around. The parking valet requires you to download an app, which is somewhat unwieldy and difficult to use. Upon our departure, we used the app to call up the car. The app automatically asks to add a tip of seven dollars, plus aconvenience fee of one more dollar. We tipped and allowed the fee, not realizing that the cost from parking the car for one night at the hotel was $52 without tip or fees. Considering we got no benefit from the valet services because it was going to take 20 minutes to get the car, this seems like a really charge.
Even though we have stayed at this hotel, many times, I don’t know that we would stay there again because of the parking charge. It seems almost insulting to add almost $60 onto our bill in order to park in downtown Columbus overnight, especially with effectively having no access to the car.
Room Design .The keep has excellent food .
Breakfast superb
Parking ,
I have stayed at the LeVeque for the past 3 years for a 3 day stay just for ME time.
Im always taken care of from the time I arrive and leave.
The staff is excellent in every area of my stays. Ms Kuanele at tge front desk was very kind, and professional.
Ms Jordan's tge front manager was very gracious and knowledgeable of the area surrounding tge LeVeque.
I'm looking forward to my visit 2027
ME time.
Thank you LeVeque for consistently providing excellence.
I have visited the Leveque because I was interested in the property, I have lived in the city for years and I have never seen the inside. To be honest it was fairly late, but I was checking it out and I was seeing if I wanted to put my parents there for when they stay. (Unfortunately, I do not remember his name), The older black gentleman was so rude. First thing he said to me, "the bar and restaurant are closed, what do you guys want". I said to him, "that's alright I am just checking it out". So, he kept repeating to me what was closed and I walked a few steps and decided to ignore him. He stands up and puts his hands on the table and stares my boyfriend and I down like a hawk to intimidate us. Therefore, I left. Will not be spending my money there. Beautiful hotel though.
Nangilo was perfect, with great customer service!
The property was amazing and I’ll definitely stay again.
The bed could’ve been a bit more comfortable. The mattress felt a little hard or stiff and I couldn’t sleep on my side without my joints hurting.
Very nice is the best way to describe my stay. Beautiful on the inside and very comfortable. I greatly enjoyed my time as a guest. Everyone was friendly and took care of any concerns immediately. I would definitely recommend for a solo traveler or family. The only thing to consider is parking. I choose to use statehouse parking and walk a few blocks to the hotel. I did so because statehouse parking in monitored by highway patrol. Thanks to all the other reviewers that identified that valet parking at the hotel is not monitored and that car thefts are on the rise in the area, with hotels visitors across the area being targeted. This lovely hotel is not too far from city hall, the police department and the state capital. However better safe than sorry when it comes to parking. I am already planning my next trip back. Also, remember that if you are running late you can always check in remotely (an email is sent from the hotel prior to stay) or call the hotel and let them know your flight was late or whatever. During check out I overheard a guy who missed check in and was scrambling for a room. Once again the staff was more than accommodating.
Location. Usually service is extraordinary and the rooms wonderful.
Service lost the reservation, the room had water on the floor, the temp was poorly controlled, king bed had standard pillows, no extra blanket in room
Bed
This is a beautiful hotel, that is located in downtown Columbus. It’s a 20 minute walk to the Short North and 20 minutes from the minor league stadium…the room was very spacious, clean and beautiful…the bathroom was elegant and the water pressure in the shower was excellent by hotel standards…the staff in person were not 5 star but they were nice…they were however very responsive and helpful through the text service
Hotel bar opens too late in day
As an 80 year old I've seen a lot of pretentious hotels. This hotel is anything but. The staff are warm attentive intelligent curious and engaging.
Two examples, Kwanele, at the front desk, ever attentive ever cheerful, saw me walking with my arms full immediately raced to the elevators to ensure that they were there for me when I needed them.
Yodi, relatively recently moving to Columbus knew everything about the city and even more about the hotel. My wife who grew up in Columbus was amazed at how much Yodi knew not just about the physical aspects of the city in the hotel but about the history.
Everyone in the hotel was this way. The house cleaning staff would make eye contact with you in a way that's invited you to stop for a moment and just chat.
And of course the furnishings are absolutely wonderful. The interior designers took the theme of constellations and subtly embedded them everywhere even down too hints in the carpet.
The nature of the art deco exterior and the entrance way added to the entire atmosphere.
All nine of us from ages 8 to 80 had a wonderful time. Thank you
Hotel was clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was great and the staff were super friendly. Even though we arrived well before 3pm, they had a room available and very happy to check us in. Kwanele and Brent at the front desk were very kind and attentive. We appreciated having Starbucks right inside the hotel as well as the refreshments and light snacks and sandwiches available by the front desk. Our room was nice and quiet.
I travel for work with my work wife, whose standards for hotels can best be described as “bougie with an excellent breakfast,” so we end up in a lot of Autograph Collection properties. This trip brought us to the LeVeque.
I opened the door to my room and literally stopped in my tracks. My first thought: Can the interior designer come do my house next? The decor is gorgeous. One of my favorite discoveries was that the gold framing around the mirrors and bed? Plastic. The crisscross “marble” lamp bases? Also plastic. Honestly, brilliant. They look exactly like the kind of ridiculously heavy gold frames and marble lamps that would double as murder weapons in a Dateline episode.
The bathroom is huge, the towels are fluffy, and there’s a separate privacy door for the toilet—an underrated luxury when traveling.
My only room complaint: the shampoo has that generic “guy cologne” scent that never quite smells as good as its creators think it does.
The hotel’s artwork is classy, and the bar area is comfortable with plenty of couches for lounging. The drinks, however, are pricey. At those prices, the martinis should arrive with special effects—a bubble on top that explodes into smoke, minimum.
A minor annoyance: the lobby ran out of Diet Coke for purchase. Unfortunately, Marriott doesn’t seem to give employees a small emergency soda fund to run out and buy a case.
As for parking, valet would have been nice, but instead you park in the garage around the corner. The attached walkway makes it easy enough, though.
Overall: beautiful hotel, stunning rooms, great atmosphere, and only a few minor gripes.
Everything about Hotel Leveque was exceptional. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully kept. Special shoutout to Kwanele and Yordi at check-in, and Crystal at checkout — they were welcoming, professional, and went above and beyond to make our stay smooth. Location was perfect and the atmosphere felt calm + high-end without being stuffy. Honestly worth every penny. Would 100% stay again and recommend to anyone visiting.
I highly recommend this hotel for their friendly staff, cleanliness, beautiful aesthetic, and walking distance to restaurants and breweries in the Columbus area. Nangilo was very welcoming from start to finish. He was attentive and made sure everything was okay with our stay.
Our room had the river view and it was as shown on the pictures online. It lived up to our expectations. If we are back in the area, we are definitely staying there again.
During our drive to New York City, my partner and I decided to stay at Hotel LeVeque, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.
From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and genuinely helpful, especially with the overwhelming amount of luggage we were traveling with. Everyone made the experience feel effortless and warm.
We stayed in Suite 707, and the room was absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail throughout the suite was stunning, and one of my favorite touches was the constellation design above the bed that you could lay there and gaze at in the evening. It made the room feel unique and memorable.
The shower was fantastic, the towels were soft and luxurious, and the entire hotel had such an elegant atmosphere while still feeling comfortable and relaxed.
We also had dinner at The Keep and it was exceptional. The food was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious from start to finish.
Wonderful location, beautiful ambiance, and an experience we will genuinely remember. We would absolutely stay here again.
Hotel Leveque is an elegant hotel full of old-world charm and modern amenities. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and impeccable. The staff were friendly and helpful and took pride in their work.
The service at the Keep, the hotel's main restaurant, was painfully slow. Our meals frequently took upwards of an hour or more and often, 45 minutes or more of that time was spent waiting for our entrees. Even appetizers could take more than 30 minutes. We gave them grace because they seemed short staffed and were sincerely apologetic.
