Pros:

1. 위치가 정말 좋았습니다. 유후인 거리와 긴린코 호수 모두 산책하기 편했고, 36번 버스 다케모토 정류장도 가까워서 유후다케나 시다카 호수, 벳푸까지 이동하기 좋았습니다.
2. 온천물이 인상적이었습니다. 유황향이 강한 타입은 아니고 맑은 물인데도 몸이 금방 따뜻해지고 혈액순환이 잘 되는 느낌이 있었습니다. 한국 목욕탕과는 확실히 다른 온천 특유의 편안함이 있었습니다.
3. 물 온도가 매우 적절했습니다. 너무 뜨겁지 않은 정도라 오래 들어가기 좋았고, 하루 어느 시간에 이용해도 온도가 일정해서 만족스러웠습니다.
4. 3박이라 음식이 반복될까 걱정했는데 매일 메뉴가 달랐고, 마지막 날 조식을 제외하면 전체적으로 만족스러웠습니다. 요리장님이 음식을 하신다고 했습니다.
5. 직원분들도 대부분 친절했습니다. 한국어를 하시는 직원분들과 영어를 하시는 직원분들 모두 정말 다정하십니다.

1. 후기에서 많이 봤던 웰컴티 서비스는 따로 없었습니다.
2. 방 안에 벌레가 조금 보였습니다. 자연과 가까운 료칸 특성상 이해는 했지만, 벌레에 민감한 분들은 참고하시면 좋겠습니다.
3. 객실 욕탕으로 올라가는 길 근처에 동물 배설물처럼 보이는 것이 있어 조금 신경 쓰였습니다.
4. 객실 테이블과 의자가 좌식 위주라 부모님께서는 편하게 앉아 계시기 어려워하셨습니다. 연세 있는 분들은 의자가 있는 구조가 더 편할 것 같습니다. 우리 부모님은 계속 침대에 걸터앉아 계셨습니다.
5. 팝콘튀겨먹는 것은 첫날 하루만 했습니다. 팝콘 아저씨가 그렇게 환영해주시는 분은 아니고, 설명도 없고, 인사도 없고 처음부터 방어적으로 진상 손님을 경계하는 느낌이라 매번 가고싶지않았습니다. 이건 개인적인 느낌이라 오해일 수도 있으나 다른 리뷰에서도 팝콘 아저씨에 대한 부정적 언급이 있는게 보이긴 합니다. 그리고 팝콘을 다 튀기고 비닐에 옮겨담아주시는데, 본인 손으로 턱턱집어서 넣다가 바깥에 털어진 팝콘도 집어서 비닐에 넣어 건네주더군요. 비위생적입니다. 호테이야에서 응대 교육을 좀 하시면 어떨까 싶네요.
6. 마지막 날 조식이 빵과 스프 중심의 서양식 메뉴였는데, 미리 선택 가능 여부를 물어봐 주셨으면 더 좋았을 것 같습니다. 저희 가족은 밥을 선호하는 편이라 조금 아쉬웠습니다. 또한 스프에서 비닐 조각이 나왔는데, 두 그릇에서 동일하게 발견되어 당황스러웠습니다.
7. 해당 내용을 직원분께 말씀드렸을 때 처음에는 가볍게 받아들이는 느낌이 있었고, 이후에야 사과를 받았습니다. (식당 직원에게 스프에서 비닐이 나왔다말했으나 주방에서 그런거라며 별거아닌듯 웃어넘김. 내가 어떻게 내꺼랑 엄마스프 두군데서 비닐이 나오냐, 스프 거의 다 먹은 시점에 비닐이 입에서 나왔다고 한번더 말하니 그제서야 작은 목소리로 스미마셍함. 소년같은 직원분.) 다른 직원분들은 전반적으로 친절했기에 이 부분은 조금 아쉽게 남았습니다.
8. 체크아웃 시 숙박에 대한 간단한 피드백이나 불편 사항을 묻는 과정은 없었습니다. 마지막 날 조식 문제나 객실 관련 이야기를 전달하고 싶었는데 그런 분위기는 아니어서 조금 아쉽게 느껴졌습니다.

Pros:

Our stay at ryokan Hoteiya was truly a wonderful experience for me and my family. The room was spacious, with a private hot spring bath where I spent most of my time soaking and relaxing. Even though the outdoor temperature was only around 10 degree C, the room stayed warm and the bath water was always hot, making the experience perfectly comfortable.

The Kaiseki dinner was an unforgettable highlight: a private dining room with windows overlooking terraced fields, beautifully presented dishes, and a burst of flavors in every bite. The ryokan also offers private public baths; room 1 was set up beautifully with a semi-open design and garden elements, but it was occupied when I arrived, so I used room 2 instead. While still nice, I couldn’t help but feel a little regret about missing room 1. Fortunately, the private bath in our room was also semi-open, which made up for it.

Since it was raining, we didn’t have much time to enjoy the backyard and outdoor relaxation area under the trees. Nevertheless, overall this was a truly wonderful experience, and I am completely satisfied and deeply appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail at ryokan Hoteiya.

Warm staff, excellent service and great location.
Pros:

The staff were very warm and helpful. After checking-in, we were given a map to explore the town with many unique shops nearly. Upon our return, we found our room well prepared with our luggage inside. We were impressed with our Japanese dinner from the start to finish, carefully served by our young waitress in a private room. The same goes for the delicious Japanese breakfast the next morning. The location of the hotel was perfect to explore the town. We were very happy with our stay.
