Excellent Accommodation and Service
Pros:

Bridget and team run an excellent operation at The White Star Tavern. We have used the Tavern on many occasions which is testament to the excellent value, comfort and service delivered there. It is ideally located, with car parking nearby. The rooms are clean and decorated to a high standard, providing excellent value. It is our go to accommodation in Southampton.

Wonderfully, people all so nice . Walk to shops and stores.
Pros:

Location Great very close to cruise ship . Hour and half from Heathrow Airport so you need to take a taxi . Arrange before you get to Heathrow.

The difference between an ok venue and a great one will always be its staff. These made it great!
Pros:

The Staff are excellent! The manager Bridget runs a great team of people who are well trained, polite, competent and very willing to help, with a genuine feeling of unforced hospitality. My room was very clean and the shower was hot, with good water pressure, and spotless! I always look forward to a cooked breakfast when staying in a hotel, and the quality of this one was up with the best I've had. Hot, fresh, good quality, and very well presented! The hotel is on a busy street of bars and restaurants which has a great buzz. Some of the residual music can be heard from inside the hotel, but the windows are very well insulated and didn't delay my sleep. The air-conditioning worked perfectly throughout my stay even though it was 30° outside.

Cons:

There was slight lack of wardrobe space in room 6 which I mentioned to the manager. They have tried to increase with hooks. It was only a tiny issue during my 2 night stay.

Pros:

Gezellige pub met mooie kamer van alles voorzien, nespresso koffie, thee etc, zalige lakens en handdoeken, heel vriendelijk personeel, geweldig ontbijt!

Cons:

De algemene netheid op de gelijkvloers zou wat beter mogen (kruimels onder de stoelen, kruimels op de vensterbanken, plakkende tafels)
Het tapijt in de kamer is aan vervanging toe

Lovely stay in Southampton pre cruise, staff very accommodating
Pros:

Room was lovely, we were boarding a cruise the day after our stay and the staff cater well for cruisers, made us feel welcome booked our taxi to the port, held our luggage & were lovely

Great option for Foray city centre stay especially when the weather is nice and you can relax and breakfast on the Terr
Pros:

It’s right in the thick of everything although it wasn’t Noisy at all. Great range of beers and food and breakfast is superb. Staff were really welcoming and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for you.

Great service
Pros:

Visited with family on a Sunday evening with my young family. We were served by ‘Prince’ who was absolutely fantastic. He made a real fuss of our daughter and made us a bespoke mocktail for our daughter. He made her day and wouldn’t even accept a tip! Great pub, great location, great service from Princess.

Loved the charm and walk ability of the White Star! All of the staff were so kind and welcoming!
Pros:

Great location on a charming street! The restaurant was outstanding !

Cons:

There is no elevator (lift) so that is a bit of a challenge, but Prince was so helpful getting our things to the first floor! The room is pretty small, but the bathroom was large and updated .
