Mariposa Belize Beach Resort

We booked a two night stay at the Mariposa so we could enjoy the beach and pool. Our room was on the ground floor near the pool. We had a large varanda where we took our meals. The room was large, shower and bathroom clean and large. there was a coffee machine and stocked mini fridge with beer and water.. We took all our meals from the Breezeway restaurant. We had spent a month in the Village so this was wind down to our return trip home. Our grandkids loved the pool and running on the beach. The staff at the restaurant were wonderful and attentive. Special shout out to George, Gladys, Emma and Kallie (sorry if i mucked up the spelling). Looking forward to rturn visit next year.

Everything about our stay at Mariposa was great. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food was excellent and the accommodations were fantastic. We really appreciated how well they maintained the grounds and it's clear that George (the manager) provides great leadership. We hope to return!

Mariposa Belize Beach Resort was definitely a paradise! What beautiful views of the Caribbean while dining outdoors at this beach front property. The treehouse cabin offered the perfect atmosphere for celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. It was private, quiet, beautiful and clean. All hotel and restaurant personnel were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we didn't want to eat anywhere else! Plus, we loved being able to use the bikes to explore Placencia Village and we very much enjoyed having kayaks to use as well! Hard to beat this stay!

Mariposa's location for us was not a problem because we rented a car, though Mariposa has a shuttle so we were able to use it to go to a tour, to the town of Placencia, an ATM or for an ice cream.
There is treehouse rooms to rent and that is one thing I regret not doing. We stayed in room #17. It was fine for us, it is big, clean and the bed was great, which is important to me.
We were traveling from a resort near San Ignacio and we were well cared for at this resort, so we were wondering if it would be the same way at Mariposa. It was. The staff really makes Maripisa special. They are all amazing. I do want to do a shout out to Marlon. He made our trip a 10/10. He is helpful, patient and very personable. We will never forget him.

It is easy to see why this resort connects with travelers looking for respite, beauty, and a cultural experience to bring home. The staff go out of their way to make sure that needs are met and wants are fulfilled.

It is an easy place to sit on the beach, go out on a kayak, watch the seabirds, and see your feet on the sandy bottom while looking through the clear water of the Caribbean Sea. I can’t say enough about the warmth from not only the sun but from each person who made our trip special. The food is amazingly delicious, concocted with local ingredients and pride.

It is possible to stay at the resort without going anywhere else because everything that one might want is within reach. However, it is also easy to ride a bike or catch a ride into Placencia to experience the local businesses, the fish market, grocery stores or enjoy the local art.

Go! You won’t regret it.

From start to finish, this boutique hotel exceeded expectations. The attention to detail was evident the moment we arrived—thoughtful design and a welcoming atmosphere that felt both stylish and comfortable.

The staff truly set this place apart. Every interaction was friendly, genuine, and attentive without feeling intrusive. They went out of their way to make sure everything was seamless and personalized.

The tree house was beautifully appointed, impeccably clean, and full of charming details that made it feel special rather than generic. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the quiet, intimate setting made it easy to relax and unwind.

We stayed for a week in one of the treehouses and loved it. We ate our meals there and they were fabulous! Lots of variety and well prepared. Gladys and the other bartenders made great cocktails and provided excellent service. All were kind and helpful. Thank you to Gladys, George, Marlon, Shephanie, Joel, Cali and Jose for a wonderful vacation!

We traveled to Belize earlier this month, and this was our last stop on our two-week vacation. It was the perfect spot to wrap up a wonderful trip! The setting is beautiful. (The pictures don't lie!) The staff were friendly, and the room was perfect! (We were in one of the garden treehouses.) The only hard part was having to leave after two nights to head back to winter weather in the United States.

We had a wonderful experience at Mariposa! The staff was very outgoing, and the food was great! The menu has great selections of authentic local dishes, as well as international cuisine. The cheesecake serving could improve on size.

We stayed in the Penthouse with a fabulous ocean view. Mariposa is a great small scale place to enjoy the Beach and Placencia. It is a Great location, with friendly staff and the Breezway food was great as well. We would definitely stay here again.

A most beautiful boutique hotel with most of their accommodations being these little raised cabins with amazing decor, hamac, and great amenities. Complimentary bikes and paddle boards were always available so we could go into town (3km ride). Food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Not a bad thing to say. I would go back and stay a week there.

This place is awesome!

The rooms are super clean, air conditioned, and have nice amenities such as local coffee, comfy beds, and lots of towels!

We expected to see bugs in the tropics, but not here! Never saw any insects on the patio or room areas, and they groom the beach to keep sand fly's at bay.

The staff is AWESOME! George at the front desk made sure our room was exactly what we wanted. He took care of our every need!! The housekeeping staff did laundry for us at a very reasonable price, and the restaurant staff was so friendly. Some callouts to wonderful staff we remember names of... marlin, Emma, Gladys, Jose, ?Cali....

Food at the restaurant was great, and the beach is not huge but really cute with kayaking available!

We came back for another stay after our sail trip! Thanks for such a wonderful stay!!

This resort was well worth the drive from Belize City. It was quaint, absolutely beautiful, and the grounds were well cared for and rooms were immaculate. Additionally, every staff member went out of their way to make our stay special. Can’t thank everyone here from the cleaning crews to the restaurant staff, to the managers etc for all their kindness and attentiveness. We would come back in a heartbeat.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Mariposa Resort. The room was so comfortable we wish we had stayed longer. The beach access and view was also really nice and the restaurant and staff were amazing.

My wife and I just returned from a 6 day stay in Tree House No. 1. Truly a perfect stay for us. JoEl, Gladys, Shefanie, Marlin, Priscilla all did were wonderful, attentive to our needs. They were patient with our many questions regarding the area and country, pointing us in the right direction with great information to help us during our travels away from the resort. The resort is very well maintained and cared for and service was top notch. We are already planning for a return trip in February.

We had a fantastic time at the Mariposa. The sea view was beautiful and access to the lovely beach was immediate. We used their standup board and kayak to explore the waters. And when we were eating at the hotel restaurant, walked the beach to other nearby eateries. We used their fun cruiser bikes a couple of times for trips into town. I loved have access to all that equipment. Also did yoga on the mat supplied while watching the water lap upon the shore. So peaceful and restorative. George was terrific and found a snorkel trip for me to Silk Cayes. Our room was beautiful , comfortable and had everything we needed.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here - it's a beautiful place right on the beach, couldn't imagine it being more perfect for a beach getaway. The rooms were pleasant and comfortable, and the staff were all easy to communicate with. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Placencia by car, and the resort provides bikes free of charge. they also provided us with paddle boards and kayaks. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff truly create the perfect vibe at this special place. In particular, Steve, one of the servers and resort staff, went above and beyond. He wasn’t just friendly — he genuinely looked out for me, pointed me to the right spots, helped me avoid issues with currency exchange, and made me feel like part of the family. That meant more to me than I can say.

Steve works extremely hard but makes it look effortless. Because of him — and the rest of the team — I’ve been so pleased with my stay that I’m hoping to extend it by an extra day if possible. It’s not just the location, the beautiful pool, or the beach right outside your door — it’s the people who make this place special. The entire staff work hard, and I want anyone who is thinking about going to Placencia to atleast spend a couple of days here-you wont regret it!!!!!
Rooms are clean, and A plus level. Great Wifi and AC!
The cost is very competitive, and you will leave feeling like you got every penny worth.

I traveled with my son and we had an amazing trip. The resort was comfortable, staff were helpful and very friendly, the location was perfect. The whole team was wonderful - Marlon in particular made our stay extra special by helping plan activities - and even made sure our shoes were dry for packing when it was time to leave. I will absolutely come back!

Everything was great from the room to the bar and the few dinners we had there.

The staff were really outstanding and friendly. We learned so much about the country of Belize and the people, just from them.

Highly recommend this place if you’re staying in the area.
