Mariposa Belize Beach Resort

We had a fantastic time at the Mariposa. The sea view was beautiful and access to the lovely beach was immediate. We used their standup board and kayak to explore the waters. And when we were eating at the hotel restaurant, walked the beach to other nearby eateries. We used their fun cruiser bikes a couple of times for trips into town. I loved have access to all that equipment. Also did yoga on the mat supplied while watching the water lap upon the shore. So peaceful and restorative. George was terrific and found a snorkel trip for me to Silk Cayes. Our room was beautiful , comfortable and had everything we needed.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here - it's a beautiful place right on the beach, couldn't imagine it being more perfect for a beach getaway. The rooms were pleasant and comfortable, and the staff were all easy to communicate with. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Placencia by car, and the resort provides bikes free of charge. they also provided us with paddle boards and kayaks. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff truly create the perfect vibe at this special place. In particular, Steve, one of the servers and resort staff, went above and beyond. He wasn’t just friendly — he genuinely looked out for me, pointed me to the right spots, helped me avoid issues with currency exchange, and made me feel like part of the family. That meant more to me than I can say.

Steve works extremely hard but makes it look effortless. Because of him — and the rest of the team — I’ve been so pleased with my stay that I’m hoping to extend it by an extra day if possible. It’s not just the location, the beautiful pool, or the beach right outside your door — it’s the people who make this place special. The entire staff work hard, and I want anyone who is thinking about going to Placencia to atleast spend a couple of days here-you wont regret it!!!!!

The cost is very competitive, and you will leave feeling like you got every penny worth.

I traveled with my son and we had an amazing trip. The resort was comfortable, staff were helpful and very friendly, the location was perfect. The whole team was wonderful - Marlon in particular made our stay extra special by helping plan activities - and even made sure our shoes were dry for packing when it was time to leave. I will absolutely come back!

Everything was great from the room to the bar and the few dinners we had there.

The staff were really outstanding and friendly. We learned so much about the country of Belize and the people, just from them.

Highly recommend this place if you’re staying in the area.

Disappointed in the service here. They need to pay a little more attention to detail. Service folks need to step and be familiar with the options.

My experience at Mariposa was excellent, end to end. It’s a beautiful beach front property with amazingly friendly staff (and central A/C!) that made our stay extremely enjoyable and memorable. We found it to be a great choice over some of the nicer, comparable options like Turtle Inn, since Mariposa has more of a boutique vibe, and we felt offered a better value overall.

I plan to return again next year and will definitely book here again.

Our family of five had an amazing stay at Mariposa Belize Beach Resort. We booked one of the tree house suites so we could all be together and it worked perfectly. The space was clean, comfortable, and felt special. The resort atmosphere was relaxed and very family friendly, and the staff treated us with genuine care from start to finish.

The biggest surprise was the food. We honestly did not expect much, but every meal was excellent. Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and consistently well prepared. We ended up eating on-site far more than we planned because it was that good.

The location is peaceful, the grounds are beautiful, and everything is well maintained. Mariposa exceeded our expectations, and we will absolutely return. Highly recommend for families and anyone looking for a warm and welcoming getaway.

Just finished a week at Mariposa and had a 10/10 experience. Staff, food, drinks, beach, and pool were all great experiences. Ate almost whole menu and liked every meal. Complimentary bikes and kayaks were great to enjoy. Approx 1.5 miles to village was a great bike ride. Safe to ride them back at night. Transportation from airport was 2 minute ride. Every single person on the staff was friendly and helpful. Excited to visit again in the future.

Beautiful little spots right on the water. Immaculately cared for And attentive and kind staff with special props for Gladys and Jose. The men went out fishing and brought their catch in only to have the on-site chef make four different entrées plus barracuda ceviche. Knock me over. Gladys and team were up at the crack of dawn this morning to make sure we had breakfast to go and coffee. And our bed was superb!!

My husband and I have been to Placencia many times but this was our first stay at the Mariposa. We found it to be a beautiful resort! The location is stunning, only steps from the beach. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had French doors opening directly to the pool/lounge area and the beach beyond. We had booked for 3 nights but needed an additional 2 nights, which the staff readily accommodated. Speaking of staff, from George the manager to Gladdis, Marlon, Joell and others, all were very professional and extremely friendly. They all went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. We had several meals at the Breezeway Restaurant and they were all very good. Highly recommend staying at this resort!

Our stay at Mariposa was fantastic. The accommodations were top notch, the food in the on site restaurant was amazing. The staff treated us extremely well. We can't say enough good things about this perfect spot in paradise.

Loved it! The staff is very attentive at this smallish, boutique-style inn. We stayed in a “treehouse” elevated cabin, and it was perfect. The cabins are dry comfortable and modern, but they retain the surfer shack feeling of Placentia. The main building, less than 100 years away, houses the pool, beach, bar and restaurant. It was never too crowded when we were there, and the facilities are great. We ate most meals there, and we used the resort’s complimentary bikes, stand up paddle boards and sea kayaks. It is a quaint, conveniently located and very personal-feeling inn with all the resources you’d expect from a large resort. We loved the place.

We stayed at Mariposa when we arrived to Placencia and the last night before we returned home and it was perfect. Gladis was very welcoming at the reception, Donny was amazing at the restaurant and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bungalow was perfect for our family of 4, since they have bunk beds. The restaurant was good with a nice view of the ocean. They have nice swings, volleyball court, paddle boards and bicycles which is perfect to go in town. It’s less than 5 minutes drive from Placencia airport. The only thing is the ocean has so much seaweeds that it wasn’t nice to go in the water. Which is fine since we didn’t stay at this hotel for the ocean but just be aware that this strip of the island gets a lot of seaweeds…

The grounds are attractive and well maintained. The Treehouse was quite charming, quiet, and clean. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We arrived before check in time and were given a complimentary cool beverage, which we drank on the beach while waiting for our room to be prepared. It is a great place to stay.

Our stay at the Mariposa Belize Beach Resort was a 5 star experience. What a great place for a romantic getaway, or just to relax and renew.... The resort is beautiful, romantic and peaceful. The grounds are well maintained and our room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms downstairs, and just had to step outside to enjoy the pool, beach and restaurant, with our own private table on the terrace in front of our room. The meals were great, and we also enjoyed the drinks served during their daily happy hour. The staff - Gladis, Marlon, Kimberly and Moses took great care of us and made us feel at home. They truly went above and beyond.... they even set up a romantic dinner for us right on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend this beautiful resort - would love to go back some day!!

Beautiful, quiet resort. Very small and quaint. Amazing staff and so personable!!! Very clean and well kept resort. They definitely take pride in their resort and their work.

The resort was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and honest. They made us feel so welcomed and truly a wonderful experience! I recommend!!!!
