Good if you're spending little time in the hotel.
Pros:

My wife and I traveller to Chiayi for a festival so we arrived at the hotel early(long before check in which is at 15:00) and got back to the hotel around 23:00 before leaving again early in the morning for our train home.

The room was small but not cramped. It had very old decor and no windows.
It did come with a full tray of soaps, shower cap, tooth brush, razor and shampoos, as well as two bottles of water.

The room had very old carpets but the bathroom was acceptably clean.

The hallways could use a coast of paint and a good cleaning. There were boxes in the passage and in the stairway.

It served it's purpose as a bed to sleep in for a night, but I wouldn't plan a trip around my stay there.

Terrible place
Pros:

It's a place that offers a bed, hot water, simple breakfast and nothing else.

The only advantage of this hotel is it's proximity to the train station.

After we checked in, we put our luggage in our room and went out and left the key at the reception (as the key chain is HUGE). When we returned, we were shocked that our room door was open. Luckily our luggage stayed in its place and nothing was lost.

The room was old, shabby and dirty. It had bad smell and was stuffy. There were molds and dust on the wall. Found dust on the bed and the bed sheets were not straight, felt like it was not newly changed. I didn't see any bugs but I had some allergic reaction on my arm when I woke up.

The bathroom was better than I had expected - at least it had hot water! But there was no shower curtain so the bathroom was flooded with water after we had a shower. They provided 2 disposable towels for each customer. Our room faced the main road and it was noisy and bright the entire night.

Breakfast seemed to be the most normal thing in this hotel. It was super simple - congee with Taiwanese side dishes or toasts.

To our surprise, the reception lady was pretty confident of this hotel and reminded us to write some good words on the Internet.

Seriously, I'm not 100% sure whether it's better to sleep in this hotel or on the street.

Pros:

Toilet very dirty.
Room really old and carpet very dirty.
Staffs rude and unfriendly.
Breakfast is horrible. Just white bread and jam. Nothing else.
Room is eerie..
WiFi not available inside room. Have to use in lobby area.
During my 1 night stay here (Dec 20th, 2011), I did not see any other visitors.
No foreign visitors here.. That explains something!
Price was 850NT$ per night. Cheap but not worth it.
Just opposite Chia Yi Train Station.
Staffs do not speak English.
Definitely will not recommend to anyone.
I will not stay here at all in the future.
