A nice hotel, not your standard Premier Inn.
Pros:

A really nice budget hotel, used to be a NAAFI back in the day. Handy for the historic dockyard, a 15 minute walk downhill but I suggest you get the bus back up.

Cons:

The bar isn't up to much to be honest, but there is a really nice local pub called The Cannon about 5 minutes walk away.

Dated hotel but fish are great.
Pros:

That it had a car park and the fish tanks. We also liked we had a joined room for a family of 5

Cons:

The rooms were boiling. Fans were provided but it would have been useful if the staff had opened the windows to reduce the heat

Not enough towels. 2 provided for a family of 5

Accepts dog but not allowed in the restaurant even though food prep is done elsewhere

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

My room wasn’t cleaned before I checked in. When I went in and tried to use the toilet, there was poo in the toilet and I got frozen when I saw it. I quickly went down to reception and made a complaint. The staff member apologised and assured me it would be taken care of. I went out, but when I got back and checked my room, nothing was done, the poo was still in the toilet. I ended up having to clean it myself. Horrible experience 😕👎🏻

Family
Pros:

I'd originally booked for 2 nights, having stayed here many times I knew it would be clean and comfortable, but, this time the team went above and beyond with their help, my mum is disabled and, at 1.20am she fell out of bed and hurt herself, my daughter and I couldn't lift her up as she'd got wedged between the bed and the wall, I went to reception where Jerry the night clerk immediately came to help, when he couldn't lift her either he phoned for an ambulance, paramedics were superb, then, in the morning the lady at the front desk, Jenny, was exceptionally helpful, honestly, these members of staff need to be recognised as their help was invaluable and we can't thank them enough, the staff are always really friendly but this time they were fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cons:

The bed nearest the window in room 210 is quite possibly the most creakiest bed ever! 🤣
