Lovely rooms. Comfortable common sitting area. Delightful staff great breakfast
Tutto ok
The hotel is very clean and well-equipped and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good variety of offerings and they were of good quality. The rooms are very compfortable and everything was in perfect working order both times we were there (at the start and the end of our trip, as we flew into and out of Tunis). Parking worked out well. The doormen keep a number of places in front of the hotel blocked for hotel guests. We were there off-season (March) so i don't know what happens if those places are all used up. They must have some solution. But in high-season it might be a good idea to state to them in a message that you're bringing a car and need a space. But that's just speculation.
One thing was a little negaitve but I don't want it to be a criticism, more of a heads-up. The hotel lobby is undergoing renovations so right now it doesn't look like a hotel when you arrive. It's frontage and signage look like a building site and you have to take some circuitous paths inside the hotel to get to your room. But that's a good thing in a way, because it means they are improvong things. And once we had got used to it, it was fine.
Getting into the centre of town from this location, if you don't want to drive and park there (we were a bit nervous about that) is not that straighforward. If you want a taxi, ask for one at the hotel because flagging one down on the busy streets doesn't really work. Taxis are very cheap and worked well for us. The walk to the nearest 'Metro' (suburban light rail) station is quite far and finding any reliable info about times, station locations etc. is extremely difficult. Google maps doesn't help at all here. We took the metro one time and can say that it seems not to be frequented by tourists at all. We felt that we really stood out. The walk to the centre is not trivial: to Ville Nouvelle 25 minutes, to the Medina more like 35.
This next bit is about Tunis and Tunisian towns in general:
Don't expect clean streets or an easy walk anywhere. There are stray cats and dogs and rubbish strewn everyhwere, just a bit more in some areas and a bit less in others. The streets are busy and you have to be on your guard, weaving among people and being called at by restaurants, bars, stall-owners etc. Some people love that. It's not for me. The footpaths are never free for long and a lot of people walk on the road. We even found ourselves doing this after a few days. Driving is really chaotic, with mopeds and people coming at you from all sides and everyone seeming to be willing to push things to the absolute limit. This must be my German soul speaking, but I found it all very stressful.
Food was really good and delicious
There was only one towel for shower, as a women I expect two big towels in hotels, one for body and one for hair
Good staff
Staff was great and very attentive and helpful when an accident happened.
2 different elevators to my room
The people. Stars- Randi, front desk. Addressed us my our names on and extremely accommodating.
Bellman- Mahrez- also excellent. Went out of his way to provide a fan and an adaptor for us.
Restaurant - Badreddine & Houcem are a great team.
No a/c. Rooms warm.

The location was convenient. The food was good. The room was comfortable. Most importantly, the staff was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. In particular, Ramzi, at the front desk, was kind, conscientious, and extremely helpful. I, highly, recommend Hotel Belvedere. Thank you for your great service.
