Resort is very tired, desperate for maintenance, old pictures don't show the current reality.

Pool wasn't usable as it had green algae visible on the sides and many of the ceramic tiles were broken off

The pool side lounges were wrecked. Rusted through and brocken, not really usable.

A main reason for us choosing this resort and a poolside room was for the pool so very disappointing.

We were the only ones staying so very few facilities.

We didn't pay a lot of money for 2 nights so we didn't make any comment or raise any issues. I accept therefore we are part of the problem as perhaps we should raise issues when there.

As with seemingly many many Booking.com sourced resorts there is a thyme of "last room" available and when we get there we are the only clients.

We have struggled to find locations in our budget and so seem pushed towards 30% - 50% cheaper options on a Booking.com offer/deal. The reality is you get what you pay for and perhaps we have suffered with being nomadic and making booking quite late on and not having much choice... But if that was true why is everywhere empty.

Something in my head says it doesn't add up but can't figure out what.

Ultimately it's not price, it's value and all too often the value is poor as is the case in the resort.

Ultimately, we wouldn't go back, no matter the price.

Property needs some maintenance, but room was nice.

The door doesn't close in any way and you can only lock it from the outside. Not a huge issue, but it allows mosquitos in even if you wedge the curtains in the open gap. Figuring out how to arrange a closing door that fits tight against the edge is a pretty minimal request for any guesthouse. Put the effort in. Somebody was having a campfire or smoking close to our door at night. Again, having a door that didn't close meant a lot of the smoke came in. There was a loud animal that sounded off all night, either a frog or bird. I guess that's part of the charm. The sound would likely be reduced if we had a door that closed.
