This is a wonderful hotel. The staff is very helpful and kind. There is a rustic cozy and elegant ambiance. The furniture is an antique style that I love. The decor is very nice. The breakfast is very nice and the space where you dine for breakfast is refreshing. The options are very healthy and even the bacon taste light. The pool is simple and small yet perfect. It’s never crowded. The hotel itself doesn’t have many rooms but if you’re fortunate enough to get one, you’ll be very happy that you did. The one con I’d mention is that it’s located directly across from a popular place that plays very loud music into the early morning so that could potentially be an issue if you have a problem with that. For us, it was not an issue. The location of the hotel is also perfect. It’s pretty much center city and right across the road from Getsemane (I’m sure I misspelled the name) but stay there. It’s a wonderful hotel!
The property is a charming and picturesque small hotel located in the heart of the walled city.
However, it’s important to note that the maintenance and overall condition of the property are not up to the highest standards.
We arrived early and, as expected, the room was not yet ready—this was not an issue. We left our bags at the front desk and went out to eat while we waited.
Upon returning, we were assigned a room on the first floor, directly behind the reception area. Unfortunately, the room faced the street and was extremely humid with a strong moldy odor.
We immediately returned to the front desk to express our concerns. We even offered to pay extra for an upgraded or alternative room, but were told the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do.
All rooms are equipped with a dehumidifier and air conditioning, so our only option was to keep both running continuously. We also requested a plug-in air freshener to help manage the odor.
A notable issue occurred during our stay: one night, a maintenance staff member asked us to turn off the air conditioning so they could recharge the gas—this was both inconvenient and uncomfortable.
Security is another concern. The rooms use traditional house keys instead of key cards, which do not allow for access tracking—a standard feature in most modern hotels.
On a positive note, the breakfast exceeded our expectations. It included fresh fruits, a variety of baked items, eggs made to order, fresh juices.
Hotel is next to a club. It can be pretty loud at night and kinda hard to get some sleep. The deadbolt on the door also didn’t work me personally I like to be able to lock the door when I travel just for my safety and I wasn’t comfortable, staying in a hotel where I can’t lock the door.
Terrific location in the heart of the historic city center, walkable to countless sights.
The hotel itself was nice, but I’m extremely disappointed with the booking experience. While reserving through Expedia, there was a glitch that didn’t show a confirmation, so I rebooked the same room—resulting in a double booking. I noticed the issue right away and contacted Expedia immediately to request a refund. They informed me that the refund needed to be authorized by the hotel.
This was an honest mistake—not a change of plans—and we did stay at the hotel as intended. It’s been over four weeks, and we still haven’t received any update or refund.
I’m from Cartagena and visit often, and this hotel could have become our go-to spot. Unfortunately, this experience felt very unfair and left a bad impression. Terrible service and lack of accountability.
There is a smell of mildew, there was insects in the room like cricket and ants. I couldn’t stay longer be pude the smell of the mildew was too strong.
All beautiful. Great staff and attention to details. A very playful puppy at the lobby gave it a very nice touch.
Staff were great water cut out to room during renovations
Love the boutique style and the cooks made authentic Colombian breakfast.
The service in the property was horrible.
- Don't have 2 key for any room (We book 4 room)
- At night the personal was sleeping (we just knock like 20 minute for open the doors)
- Humidity super high
- The manager was horrible
- Pool amenity was 0, no bar, no personal.
The best was the breakfast and the lady over there, she safe the experience.
Honestly was super sad the experience.
Beautiful oasis in the middle of everything. The staff is amazing! Big kiss to Jorge!
I will never stay in this place again.I will not recommend this place to anybody.place needs to be remodel. The rooms are to small for the price they charge the pools are small and very old.the service is pretty bad.it needs a lot of work.for $400 per night that they charged us not worth it
They did not let me change my dates, also hotels.com did not help with the situation.
We had an amazing stay at Casa DiLuca. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very large and beautiful and the pools were fantastico!
