Light, clean and comfortable. My room would have been very wheelchair friendly.
Pleasant pub restaurant next door with friendly staff.
The rooms were very modern, spacious with very comfortable furnishings. Very peaceful surroundings.
I enjoyed my stay very much so I had nothing to complain about.
Great location staff were all very friendly and helpful
Early close on Sunday
This was a horrific stay to be honest. Stressful, unprofessional, was left anxious, stressed and financially impacted. Whether this is Booking.com or the hotels fault is yet to be known but something went wrong and neither side are willing to refund.
Turned up at 9.30pm after booking.com confirmed booking and took funds with no cancellation policy. Staff were clueless as to why we were able to book as said no rooms left. 9.30pm stranded and feeling anxious, stressed and worried. Eventually the receptionist after frantic calls said she would ‘try to clean us a room’ . I appreciate her proactive approach but the room was filthy and not fit for purpose but we had no other option than to stay.asked hotel for refund they said booking.com offer the refunds and booking.com customer service has been terrible offering £17 off 🙈🙈🙈.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: The Lodge at Solent, Southampton
Stayed at The Lodge at Solent and was really impressed. The location is spot‑on for getting around — only a short drive to Fareham, Hamble, and the surrounding area, which made it ideal for work and exploring.
The room was clean and comfortable, with a great shower and a really comfy bed that made for a solid night’s sleep. Plenty of parking on-site too, which takes the stress out of arriving late or heading out early.
A big bonus is the bar/restaurant next door, which has a good atmosphere and makes grabbing food or a drink incredibly easy after a long day.
Overall, a convenient, comfortable stay with everything you need and nothing to complain about. Would happily return.
Overall the stay was fine, but a couple of things let it down. The tea and coffee facilities were very limited — only two teabags provided for the whole stay, which felt a bit stingy. I’m sure I could have asked staff for more, but with a Lidl directly opposite, it was easier to just buy extra supplies myself.
We also planned to use the swimming pool next door, which is part of the same chain, but were told we’d need to buy day passes at £45 per adult and £9 for a one‑year‑old. Nearly £100 just for a swim felt extremely expensive, so we skipped it.
A decent place overall, but these points took the shine off the stay.
Easy to find with convenient Pub/Food next door, Sunday Lunch for £10 which was delicious. Great hot and powerful shower with good quality fluffy white towels .Overall good value for money. Pub staff were very pleasant despite it being a busy bank holiday weekend.
Carpets were stained in the hallway and the room which was a bit off putting. A bottle of drinking water would be a great addition to the room as well as two packets of biscuits for 2 guesr rather than one.
Modern, clean, good location all staff helpful & attentive good food at the restaurant
Nothing
Breakfast and food service in general was great and the food was tasty. The room was very comfortable and clean. The male manager in particular was exceptionally helpful with any requests, we're sorry we didn't get his name.
The only negative we had was the price of a pass to use the pool in The Solent, that was ridiculously overpriced.
Location and facilities
All good
