Nice hotel with excellent service
Pros:

They treated you like family and were very helpful at every possible opportunity. When I had question about a local spa they picked up the phone and called for me. When I needed help with local transportation they were more than happy to help. Also special requests were no problem.

Heartfelt Icelandic hospitality
Pros:

What truly stands out at Hotel Lotus is the genuine generosity and kindness of the staff.

The lady who welcomed me went above and beyond to help me find a solution to cover the luggage in the boot of my rental car. Without hesitation, she even lent me one of the hotel’s blankets to keep with me throughout my entire 12-day Ring Road journey around Iceland.

It may sound like a small gesture, but it meant a lot and perfectly reflects the kind of heartfelt hospitality that makes this place special. I also really appreciated all the useful advice and local tips for travelling around Iceland.

It is this combination of kindness, generosity and genuine care for guests that made my stay particularly memorable. Thank you for being part of my Icelandic journey!

Great stay
Pros:

Just a calm. Comforting place to stay with excellent breakfast and snacks available 24/7
Pros:

Beautifully curated art hotel. Immaculately cared-for by Maria. Just enough Scandi minimalism, warmed by her great taste in art - even the piped music is fab. I arrived without notice at 9.30 in the morning without any notice - in less than an hour, my room was ready. Fantastic work!

Central hotel that exceeded my expectations
Pros:

My room was great and the staff were amazing. They helped me with my bags and always offered to help me with everything. They let me check in as soon as my room was clean and put my bags there for me while I was out exploring. The location is somewhat central but central doesn't mean in a busy area. The busy parts of the city were not central. I was able to take a hop on hop off bus from a fairly close spot to the hotel. I loved the Icelandic breakfasts. I reserved a suite and it was very large. When I wasn't sure how to work the lights in the restroom the staff came up and showed me and once I saw it I realized I should have seen it earlier.

Cons:

There was a window above my bed which could be nice for seeing northern lights but it wasn't extremely clear and it didn't have any way to close it off to block the summer midnight sun. While I didn't mind at all the room could be warm in the summer. I found the warmth a nice change from the Icelandic cold.
