Great location- easy walk to shopping, restaurants, the fort, and the ferry. Friendly staff and good breakfasts from their top floor restaurant (nice view too). Comfortable small room. Hallway noise and call to prayer calls occur but that’s expected anywhere in the area. We would stay here again.
Very accomodating staff, clean room, walking distance from ferry terminal, in the old medina.
We had a beautiful suite that was very clean. The WiFi worked great. The area was very noisy even on 3rd floor and hard to sleep at times. Breakfast was good, the staff made eggs to order and brewed coffee to order. Renovated boutique hotel with no elevator so going up and down 3 stories got tiring. Hotel was located at edge of Medina up a hill from ferry &/or taxis so lugging suitcase up hill/steps was a bit difficult. Overall nice hotel but be prepared to walk up lots of hills & stairs.
Clean room with all the amenities listed.
The Mamora Bay Hotel is exceptional. Excellent service, beautiful breakfast overlooking the water, clean rooms and great value. It is an amazing option if in Tanger.
Close to ferry
This hotel is like, stepping back in time in the Arabic world of culture and art and beauty. The building itself and everything in it as a cultural artifact. The staff were absolutely superb in their customer service. Courtesy helpfulness, an overall presence.
We were greeted with Moroccan tea and a sweet while we checked in. Staff were friendly and helpful carried bags to our room and gave us advice on cost for taxis etc. The room was small but had everything we needed including fresh fruit. Breakfast was included and a great start to the day. Great location for exploring the Medina and corniche.
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful—when I lost a cable, the front desk guy immediately provided me with one for free. The room, while compact, was very comfortable for a single traveler and impeccably clean. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, and if I return to Tangier, I would gladly stay here again.
This so-called “hotel” is absolutely disgraceful and unfit for human use. The main door to our room did not even close properly, leaving us feeling unsafe from the moment we arrived. The conditions were appalling: damp throughout, a constant gutter stench, a blocked sink, and a toilet so small that anyone over 70kg would physically struggle to use it. The toilet seat was broken, and the bed sheets were not only dirty and badly stained but clearly had not even been changed from the previous resident. Truly disgusting.
We had originally booked a triple room, but it was so bad that we were forced to downgrade to a tiny double bed room for three people, just to get away from the filth. There was no TV, no kettle, no basic amenities at all. The entire listing for Mamora Bay was nothing but a lie.
This wasn’t just disappointing — it was a nightmare that ruined our whole experience. What should have been a special stay turned into stress, discomfort, and disgust.
To make matters worse, I have contacted Booking.com several times by phone and email, and even reached out on X (Twitter), yet I have had no response. The lack of customer care has been shocking and only made the situation worse.
Mamora Bay is a disgrace and should never be advertised as a hotel. Save yourself the pain and avoid it at all costs.
To make matters even worse, when checking out today, the hotel manager aggressively confronted us and pressured us to change our review. This was extremely intimidating and frightening for my family — something we never expected or should ever have to experience.
“A great value-for-money hotel located in the heart of Tangier’s Medina. The staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Cleanliness is clearly a priority, and the level of service provided ensures a comfortable and pleasant stay for all visitors.”
For those of you seeking adventure, this is the place to be. From the valet to the frontline staff and all the way to the kitchen team, the service has been exceptional. This hotel is an older establishment with a rich history. Please do not come with high expectations when staying here, but I can assure you that my experience was more than enough to make me want to return.
Please ask for Mohammed as your driver when touring around. He is very nice and kind. He picked us up from the airport and also drove us on the excursion we chose. Tarik, at the front reception, will suggest some additional activities. Please consider them, as they are well worth it. Tarik also arranged our tour guide, Youssef, an amazing man full of knowledge. He is also very funny and joyful.
Overall, during our three days in Tangier, my family and I had a lot of fun and are looking forward to coming back.
Great, historic hotel in the Tangier Media with parking nearby. Super nice staff. I recommend it!
Well located in Petit Souss. Very helpful staff.
Vehicle cannot reach the hotel. Long walk up the hill to reach the hotel.
The property is near the edge of the Medina, very close to interesting museums and landmarks, and the promenade along the water. The top floor is a restaurant open all day and evening, with a great view of the harbour and the sea, and a pleasant sea breeze. The hotel staff is super helpful, and helps ordering taxis and carrying suitcases from the hotel down stairs to the taxi pick up point. The hotel is very close to the Grand Mosque, which means that the call to prayer is audible at specific times of the day.
Really great hotel the staff are amazing. The bellhop takes your bags to your room and even down the stairs to get to the ferry. The location can be a bit hard to find because it is in a Road but the shop owners are very helpful. While you are being checked in they ask you to sit down and have some Moroccan tea and a biscuit. Breakfast is more than any one person can eat. The restaurant is on the third floor with an outlook of the marina and the mosque.
I really enjoyed my stay at this property. It was very clean, quiet, and in a great location close to shops and transport. The bed was comfortable, and the check-in process was easy. The host was friendly and responsive, which made the stay even better. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would stay here again.
Really nice hotel. Friendly staff and close to everything. I can definitely recommend staying at this hotel
We enjoyed our stay here. Central to great food and the ferry. The climb up the stairs was much with luggage but when we left, they told us a way to go without stairs. Friendly staff.
