Loved the ambience, cleanliness and assistance provided by staff.
In today's time i would advise adding smart tv instead of tata sky service. Also, i requested for tray to keep the glasses on but i was not provided. Include it in the room for convenience along with whiskey glasses as you provide it in the room. Everything else was perfect. Also the iron was missing.
The stay was good. The staff was polite.

Das Personal beim Empfang sehr unfreundlich.
Freundlich wurden die Mitarbeiter nur dann, wenn es darum gieng zusätzlich Geld zu verdienen.
Zum Beispiel kamen 5 verschiedene Leute zu mir, um mir zum essen überteuertes Wasser anzudrehen.
Beim Bezahlen an der Bar versuchten Sie immer wieder den Betrag in Euro statt in Rupien abzurechnen. Zum Glück bemerkte ich es.
Vor meinem Auschecken bat ich darum ein Taxi zum Flughafen bestellt zu bekommen. Sie wollten mir ein Taxi für 1200 INR bestellen. Das lehnte ich ab und bestellte mir selbst eins über die App und zahlte nur 175 INR.
Es war teilweise unverschämt. Ansonsten nahm ich das Personal als unfreundlich und abweisend war. (Ausgenommen die Sicherheitsleute vor dem Eingang)
Insgesamt sind mit Europa verglichen 3-4 Sterne Standarts anzutreffen.
(Echte 5 Sterne, wie Zuhause gibts in Tamil Nadu wohlmöglich gar nicht. Also erwarten sie nicht zu viel, auch wenn sie viel Geld ausgeben)
Cleanliness
Location & easy approach. Great smelling guest room floor corridors. Cordial welcome by Pooja during check-in. Warm & attentive stewardship by Ahmad during breakfast at the ADD. Good food & nice big breakfast buffet spread. Spacious room.
The room layout. The bathroom sliding door is next to the bed instead of the vestibule & ends up disturbing your co occupant with is noise & light when operated. The rain shower made a loud tapping sound periodically which was unpleasant. Staff in general felt a bit indifferent & mildly disinterested for a hotel of this class. Ordered a couple of ice buckets to our room but only one arrived. Second one never came. No one called back either. During breakfast the ADD staff (except a couple of them attentive ones) wore a cold look with no real warmth or interaction usually seen in peer hotels. Our dosa came without the sambar despite requesting during ordering. When politely reminded, the steward smiled & said "its kept at the buffet counter" expecting us to fetch it ourselves. Finally another attentive steward (Ahmad) intuitively got a bowl for us. The main reason for docking points is, during checkout the person at the front desk repeatedly asked me to "Open Booking.com app" on my phone. When I asked him sternly the reason for this insistence he said its for "a review"!! It is not hard to guess how easy it is for any hotel to write a GREAT review for themselves on behalf of any guest once they unwittingly reveal their booking PIN on the app, to any staff member. Has happened to.me before in another hotel, so I can smell this scheme from afar. Makes one doubt the 9+ ratings & "Excellent" single line, single word reviews on Booking.com Anyway I expressed my strong displeasure at this behavior & checked out. It's a very strong 7 for me.
