The room we were given was not what we booked. When asked for the room we booked we were shown an incredibly run down version of it in a building that was undergoing repairs so we opted for the room they initially assigned. It costs $50000 UGX to get a ride to town so we felt a bit trapped but I’m sure people accustomed to resorts are used to this.
We went on an amazing nature walk that was offered for free, our guide Joseph was very knowledgeable and accommodating, beautiful views and forest, should not be missed.
Our trip really turned around when we met Ismail, he helped us rent a motorcycle so we could tour the island, then made sure we got a table for the Candlelit Valentine’s Day dinner even though it wasn’t part of our package. The campfire every night right on the water is beautiful and definitely a highlight. Tour the spiritual caves just outside town if you get a chance 10000 UGX per person. Food service is slow here but all the servers were excellent as were the front desk ladies. The pool was lovely, cool and clean could just use a few umbrellas and more lounge chairs. Overall a good place to stay on the island:)
