Trevligt hotell men sängen behöver uppgraderas.
Pros:

Trevligt hotell som ligger mitt i staden med allt vad det innebär. Nära till allt men också en del oljud en helgkväll. Frukosten var jättebra och kaffet gott. Personalen trevlig.

Cons:

Sängen och min rygg kom inte alls överens så jag sov tyvärr lite dåligt pga detta. Ganska lyhört mellan rummen också tyvärr.

Fint maritimt tema, även om det känns slitet.

Cons:

Väldigt dålig säng. Har ryggvärk och blev tvungen att sitta i fotöljen del av natten pga det bäddmadrassen var stum (gammal?)
Lamporna i armaturerna är inte valda med omsorg. För starka lampor i de flesta vackra armaturerna. En lampa i badrummet var trasig. Sänglamporna är fina med lamporna passar inte vilket gör att det bländar.
Tråkig frukost.
Tvålen i duschen var i princip slut. Borde alltid kollas vid städning. Spec som receptionen ofta är obemannad.
Allt det här kunde jag inte berätta i receptionen eftersom den fortfarande var obemannad när vi åkte strax före 11.

A hotel with a surprising charm, friendly staff, and excellent value for money
Pros:

Given the mixed reviews and some of the photos, we weren't sure beforehand what this hotel was going to be like, but it pleasantly surprised us - WE REALLY LIKED IT! Yes, it's a bit old, the outside looks unappealing, and parts of the inside do look a bit tatty, but it's got a surprising charm to it, and it provided us a great place to stay for a few nights, at a sensible price, with something different from a chain hotel.
I have to give lots of praise for the lady on reception, who was BRILLIANT, very friendful and helpful to us with restaurant suggestions, and getting us some fans to help cool our rooms.
The rooms are comfortable enough, the 'nautical' theme works surprisingly well, but they could do with better cleaning in the rooms and also the public areas, nothing too bad, just not as good as it probably should be.
Breakfast is a simple buffet style - muesli, breads, meats, cheeses, cooked bacon and scrambled egg, and good coffee and juices. There was plenty of it and it tasted good. The breakfast room is a bit small for the size of hotel, so as others have commented I can imagine it would get full on a busy day, but we had no problems getting a table on both days of our stay.
Motala itself is a charming town, it's lovely to walk along the canal between the lakes, there is a good selection of places to eat, and the motor museum (included with the hotel as they're owned by the same people) was a great place to spend an hour or so.
With a good breakfast included, we thought this was an excellent value for money hotel, just don't expect a super modern hotel and go with its' charms!

Cons:

Rooms were a bit hot but they provided fans which helped a lot. And the place generally could have been a bit cleaner.
