Vriendelijk personeel
Convenient location, the man who checked us in was very nice.
We were able to check in early which was very helpful
Breakfast was basic but good
Impossible to sleep at night. The hotel is located on a busy street with restaurants and bars. The first night of our stay was a Saturday and it was incredibly noisy until about 4 am, and until about 2 am the next night. The noise was so loud that it was impossible to sleep, the second night we bought earplugs and it was still quite loud.
Curtains don’t fully block the window which meant that it was also bright in the room through the whole night, privacy was also somewhat impacted by this.
Some rooms appear not to have windows facing the street and may have been better, however shouldn’t be sold at the same price. Rooms right on the street should be significantly cheaper with transparency around the noise. A scam if you get a street facing room.
Great location near the main train station, very friendly and helpful staff.
Semplice e pulita
Stayed here before this trip staff are Lovley located in a nice part of the city
Was 39 degrees and had no air con but other than that was amazing
Breakfast was great. Room was basic but very comfortable and clean and provided all I needed for my trip. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great location too.
Nothing
Location and price
The top attic room was very cramped and hard to move around and I hit my head multiple times on the TV as it is right in the way of walking around the beds
On the day of my arrival at the hotel, the gentleman who greeted me was amazing. He was very polite, friendly, and kind to my dog. Everything was very clean, and the breakfast was great.
The room was incredibly hot, absolutely unbearably hot. There was no air conditioning or fan. Thankfully, the gentleman who greeted me lent me a very small fan, but I couldn't sleep because of the heat. It was a low-star hotel, but I expected at least some large fans.
I had a problem on Thursday, the day before my departure, with a staff member, simply for asking him to show me how to use the coffee machine. The guy was disrespectful, saying, "Am I...?" I couldn't read because it was written on the paper. When I was telling him that I don't know how to read English 😭 and apologizing for not speaking English, the man gave me such a nasty look, so nasty that it made me feel terrible just for asking a question, and I had to leave. That's very wrong of a hotel employee to treat a guest.
And another thing I didn't like was that I went three days without toiletries. I had to go out and buy shower gel myself 🤣
Location
The temp was over 30 degree the radiators were on. Bed was the most uncomfy thing ever
Check in smooth, easy to find and use. Shared toilet & shower very clean and easy to use.
No air conditioning, no fan and the window didn't open properly so was like a cooker inside (during the hot spell). Stairs VERY steep and difficult to negotiate with baggage. Radiator inside the front door at the foot of the stairs was red hot while external temps were around 38 degree C.
Bed bugs reported. One of the worst hotels I have ever slept in entire adult life.. Terrible condition of the room. Smelly and stuffy. Flies inside the room and stinks. Super low pressure in the shower.
Bed bugs were reported here and when i asked at the reception if they have problem with these insect, the guy said 'anything can happen' 🤣 which is such a lol, you paid 79€ a night... Of course you're not expecting royal treatment but this is frankly unacceptable.
For those of you who're looking for a room in the central Amsterdam I hardly recommend the Jordan neighbourhood to look for a place to stay.
Best of luck!
