Right at the center of everything, the location was spot on.
Basic accommodation with two beds, clean sheets and ok breakfast. The showers had only cold water when we came but they fixed it right away when reported at the reception.

I had booked three nights at this hotel in early February 2026. After the first night, I had numerous bed bug bites. I had entire “bite lines” all over my body. The gentleman at the reception desk reacted very sympathetically. It seemed as though I was not an isolated case. The hotel had apparently experienced several similar incidents in its rooms in the past.
As a result, I was moved to a new room (however, it did not have a window). The next morning, I again found bed bugs on the walls. I then requested at the reception desk to be transferred to another hotel, as it appeared that not just one room was affected by the infestation. I was subsequently accommodated in a different hotel, and two nights were refunded to me.
Any further compensation was explicitly refused. The only additional reimbursement I received was for the creams I had to purchase at a pharmacy to treat the bite wounds. I found this to be outrageous.
Following this incident, I had to dispose of all my clothing, as it shrank when washed at 60 degrees Celsius, and I also had to throw away my suitcase because I was concerned about bringing the bed bugs into my apartment. I received no compensation for these losses.
The worst part, however, is the physical damage. Even now—almost four weeks after my stay—many of the bite wounds are still inflamed. Out of more than 110 bites, I have been left with numerous scars all over my body and am still suffering from the consequences.
Quite apart from that, my trip to Amsterdam turned into both a psychological and physical catastrophe as a result of this experience. Please spare yourselves this ordeal and do not stay at this hotel.
