This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location in Reykjavik. The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff were very helpful and the central location made it easy to explore the city. Plus the included breakfast was fantastic.

This hotel is in a prime location for visiting downtown Reykjavik! Countless restaurants and pubs are nearby, so you wont want for that, or for things to do! The atmosphere was welcoming and courteous. The reception team got us checked in quickly (although we arrive at about 9:45 AM) and while they didnt have a room right way, pointed us in a good direction to do some initial sightseeing, shopping and eating. The room was very nice, great bathroom too. We circumstantially visited concurrent with a PRIDE parade and departed the day before the solar eclipse. Needless to say, the hotel was busy and the rooms expensive, but not proportionally more than other similar hotels. We could tailor our housekeeping services to our needs, and the team did a great job keeping the rooms and common areas clean and inviting. Situated along a main walking street, the noise (street-side) tended to be a little higher at night thane had hoped, but wasn't terribly intrusive. Complimentary breakfast was very nice!!
From the initial greeting to the end farewell, staff were most helpful and courteous. The room was small but very clean and neat. The daily breakfast included was excellent, as was the location.

This is a charming boutique hotel in the perfect location! You walk right out of it onto the pedestrian part of Laugavegur Street. It’s a fun street to walk, shop, and enjoy many restaurants.
Our room was lovely and the staff at the front desk were welcoming and very helpful and gave us terrific recommendations for restaurants and other activities.
We loved our stay at the Sand Hotel. The location is fantastic if you want to be within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, key things to see, and the waterfront. The room was stylish, clean, and comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of shelf space and a very good shower. The breakfast buffet was very good, but with the excellent Sandholt Bakery right next door, you have a great alternative steps away. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and unobtrusive. The blackout curtains in the room worked very well, but truthfully, we had very little sun during our stay. We were a bit surprised that we had to pay a fee to have access to our room a few hours before official check in time, even though we were told the room was ready. We understand that this is the policy, but just want others to know as you may also be arriving directly from the airport after an overnight flight and want to freshen up before heading out to explore. Overall, the Sand Hotel is excellent and we would definitely stay there on a return visit to Reykjavik.
