It’s centrally located in Downtown area. I’m a travel advisor and I will recommend this hotel to my clients. Very lovely and quiet. The staff is very helpful with any questions you might have. I dropped off my luggage prior to my check in time and left for an 8 hour tour of the Golden Circle. When we returned at 7PM that evening, we were exhausted and hungry. The front desk suggested a pizza restaurant 1/2 block away. What a great hidden gem. The bathrooms are fully marbled with a sensor light The bed is featherdown and very comfy. The breakfast was quite extensive with ginger shots, smoothies and Norwegian Salmon. The bus station 12 to take the bus to the airport is a 10 minute walk downhill.
Very good location in city to explore. Easy walking to church, harbor, shop, food
Great breakfast. Fresh and varied. Good bread, yoghurt, cheese, Marmelade and other spreads and sweets. Good variety of warm and cold drinks. Some might be missing the warm food, but there is plenty of other options. Service was great - they eg quickly supplied separate duvets when requested! Very recommendable.
We stayed here twice during our Ring Road road trip, staff is exceptional! Rooms are great, beds comfortable! Close and convenient to the town center, food and entertainment!
Everything about Sand was marvelous: Liam, at the front desk, was extremely helpful suggesting sites to visit, and getting to them. The breakfasts were delicious. The bakery next door had the best bread and sandwiches (great for picnicking and taking on board Icelandia Air). Location was central to the city, and city bus was just a block away. Room was spacious.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are dark and dingy. The breakfast is ok with reasonable choices but if you want anything other than a coffee in a jug they give you, you will have to pay extra. No cooked breakfast either. Arriving by taxi can be problematic as you will have to carry your suitcase from the street down some stairs. I wouldn’t stay here again. The bakery is great though.
First trip to Iceland June 26!

Amenities 5/5 the suite had robes and personal items, the breakfast was delicious and the dining room staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
A decent hotel in the downtown, located on a pedestrian-friendly street. The staff members were extremly courteous and helpful. The free breakfast was a bonus!
Small room but wonderful, attentive and helpful staff. Embedded in the best bakery in Reykjavik, a nice bonus.
This is such a lovely property right in the heart of Reykjavik. Beautiful rooms comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, lovely staff. Right next to incredible bakery.
The property doesn’t have dedicated car parking, so if you are driving you will need to park your car in a paid car park nearby. This was not a problem for us, but it is just something to keep in mind.
This property was the perfect home base for exploring Reykjavik. Its central location made it easy to walk to countless restaurants, shops, cafés, and many of the city's most popular attractions.
As a Mr. & Mrs. Smith property, it offered the added benefit of being bookable through Hyatt, allowing me to earn or redeem Hyatt points.
The room was comfortable, stylish, and provided a great place to relax after a day of exploring Iceland. A special thank you to Liam David, who checked me in. He was exceptionally welcoming and took the time to share recommendations for the local area, which helped me make the most of my visit.
There were a couple of drawbacks. Storage space was quite limited, with no closet and only a hanging bar with a few hangers. There were also no drawers, which made it difficult to unpack and organize belongings during my stay. Since I was only in the city for one night, this was not a major concern for me, but it may be an issue for guests staying longer. Additionally, the shower design resulted in a large puddle of water on the bathroom floor after each use.
Despite these minor inconveniences, the unbeatable location, comfortable accommodations, and friendly service made this a property I would happily recommend to anyone visiting Reykjavik.
Had a very nice time. The hotel was clean and quiet, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast selection was a little small but well curated and tasty. Although it was not the busiest season, there were still plenty of tourists around and considering the central location, I was amazed that there was practically no noise at all.
The location was great being at the centre of everything. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
I would have liked a second choice of jam at breakfast other than mixed berries as I am allergic to strawberries. Apart from that there was a great selection of other things to eat.
