It was dirty and alternative room was smelly
L'extérieur est magnifique quand on arrive de nuit. On croit donc que l'on va vivre un peu la vie de château au cœur d'un beau parc. La chambre familiale est suffisamment spacieuse. Produits de toilette de qualité. Propreté correcte.
Nous étions logés dans les anciens communs. Rien de grave pour une nuit. Cependant, pas de poubelle dans la minuscule salle de bain. Les fenêtres ne s'ouvraient pas alors que la canicule frappait. Un seul petit ventilateur pour deux pièces. Le "English breakfast " était gras, avec un seul toast et une quantité mesurée voire chiche, sans produits frais. Malgré le tarif, nous nous sommes sentis relégués comme les domestiques des Bennet dans Pride and prejudice
The hotel is stylish and comfortable. The staff are friendly. Most of all the good is delicious 😋
Very nice room with lots of space and lovely views.
The shower was no good as no pressure, so didn’t feel like you were having a nice wash. Also, the waste hole in the little basin was very worn and looked old and not in keeping with everything else. We also asked for some larger mugs as the mugs in the room were expresso size so no good for tea! Otherwise a very comfortable and lovely size room.
The building and grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was very good. The staff when you eventually found them were very good. The apartments are huge and well equipped.
This is not a 5 star hotel, we were in the apartments on the 3rd floor and no lifts. The apartment was like an oven, no air con and being at the top of the building nowhere for the heat to go. They eventually cobbled together a very noisy air con unit stolen from an outside pod which was stood on a chair with a very short hose going out the window which was sealed up with towels. It just about cooled the room to just below oven temperature but dropped a puddle of water on the floor that my wife slipped on during the night. We didn't sleep well it was an expensive, hot, uncomfortable night. In the winter it will probably be fine but don't go in the summer unless you want baking at gas mark 6 during your stay.

Tolles Familienzimmer mit Raindance begehbare Dusche. Klimatisierter Aufenthaltsraum „Admirals Room“. Ein aussergewöhnliches Frühstück auf hohem geschmacklichem Niveau. Jederzeit wieder buchen!
Zimmer nicht klimatisiert. Der Kaffee war abgestandener Filterkaffee. Das muss besser gehen!

Had no way to cool down The Heat in the room. Small fan provided was propped on a chair all night to try and get cool air but without benefit. Totally Understand the heat wave has been extraordinary but nothing done or offered to help us as guests get comfortable. We were aware there is no lift at the hotel so chose the ‘basement apartment’ for our stay as we have two large suitcases. We were told we had been upgraded but unfortunately our stay now involved 3 flights of stairs and three heavy fire doors to get through. No offer was made to assist with bags to go upstairs on check in. A young lady said she would help carry our bags downstairs when we checked out which did not seem right.
Amazing, the hotel itself and the grounds are stunning. Staff were incredibly helpful. Our room (apartment) was spacious and had everything we needed. We had dinner in the restaurant gave us a free drink as it was my other half’s birthday. The food was amazing. Evening drinks on the patio. They had a singer which was lovely. Couldn’t have asked for more 10/10

The staff were friendly and helpful. The terrace and garden areas were stunning. Bed was comfortable
Our room felt like it was old staff quarters, extremely basic, bed albeit comfortable with 2 side tables, in a separate area by the bathroom there was a table to sit and have coffee. No where to put luggage except on the floor. TV didn’t work properly, couldn’t connect to the WiFi to use laptop to watch a film.
It was extremely run down, felt damp on arrival presumably due to the heat and not being aired out or air conditioned. The bathroom was in dyer need of updating the shower had black mould in and smelt, the sink was great either, the grouting was missing from the tiles on the floor. The shower and shower head had pink biofilm build up where it had not been cleaned properly.
The lack of attention to this room screamed they didn’t really care about the guests that stay in them. The they seemingly thought adding some pretty wall paper to one wall would make all the difference. Little care had gone into the finer details to upgrade the room to make it like a hotel like rather than hostel like.
We booked last minute and arrived late and was just a bed to stay in for us at that point, so didn’t feel need to raise the issues. If we were staying longer than one night though we would have definitely spoken to someone.

Staff were lovely - very helpful.
Bedroom was very basic. Tiny shower which leaked into bathroom area badly. Nowhere suitable to dry hair or apply makeup. No dressing table etc. WiFi wouldn’t work in our room. Would have liked cereal and toast at breakfast but was not an option.
Staff were fabulous and wonderful old building that had been modernized
I now we booked a basement apartment but the stairs were a bit of a problem.Needs a proper handrail and maybe non slip on the steps
