Pros:

The location was good, but there was not a sign outside on the street, so a little confusing when we arrived

Pros:

The comfortable room had plenty of space beautiful high ceilings. Although the included breakfast was very light, we were thankful for the option. The location was perfect and in the heart of so much to see and do!

No hot shower
Pros:

It was winter, very cold at night. Shower (boiler) was broken therefore we could not take shower. All rooms were occupied so we could not take shower in other room either. Hotel staff said they had called electrician at 10am the next day. We waited until 12pm but still no hot shower. Simplu disappointing.

The best budget hotel in Cairo
Pros:

Excellent, affordable, clean hotel with a very friendly staff. Perfect location in downtown. The Grand Agor has been refurbished in the last three years, so everything is new and modern—including the private bathrooms in each room. Highly recommended.

Diamond in the rough
Pros:

The stay was great! Service and communication was great. The AC issue is a nonissue to us - we understand those things.

The feng shui was amazing. Check in simple.

It would be cool to have a washer and dryer on site for guests.

The room was very clean, but if I may be honest, a little dusty.

I think the finer details need attention: like dust, floorboards, cracks and corners, shower leaks onto the floor.

I would stay there again, without a doubt!

The location and entrance and stairs and high ceilings, etc.

Thank you!

Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The internet didn’t work well, but after we spoke with the manager, he solved the problem. I really recommend this hostel!

Not worth it
Pros:

Pontos ruins:
- toalhas pareciam uma lixa de tao áspera
- Sem amenities basicas (shampoo, cond, sabonete)
- Chuveiro não esquentou no segundo dia
- Ar condicionado não funcionava para regular temperatura
- Fachada assustadora
- Não arrumaram o quarto, precisa solicitar arrumação, não foi avisado
- Banheiro separado da cama apenas por uma parede de vidro, comprometendo a privacidade.
- pagando um pouco a mais, vc pode ficar num 5 estrelas
Pontos bons:
- bem localizado
- café da manhã
- recepcionista simpático

Pros:

This hotel was nice and they let me change rooms to get away from the constant honking of the cars in the city. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make my stay pleasant and enjoyable with one exception- they did smoke a lot inside the hotel even though they tried to keep a window open to air the place out. After the previous nightmare of a hotel that I stayed in the night before, I was able to catch up on sleep here just fine.

Highly recommended for enjoying Cairo
Pros:

We highly recommend this hotel. It is part of one floor of a large 19th century building with a grand, central stair case and very high ceilings. The facade was redone in the 20th century in an Art Deco style. There are three main reasons for our enthusiastic endorsement. (1) The staff is friendly, helpful, and competent. (2) The room is large and comfortable. Our room was towards the street and thus there was some noise, which did not bother us. (3) The location is excellent, walking distance to the Egyptian Museum (15 minutes) and to Khan el-Khalil (30 minutes), to a Metro stop, and to many, many great restaurants, tea places, and pastry shops.

A NEW HOTEL, THUS NOT GOT HARMONIOUS VIBE YET
Pros:

VERY AKWARD STAFF, NOT VERY TRUSTING, LOCATION IS NOT FANTASTIC. AND JUST NOT VERY PLEASING, BUT AM SURE AS TIME GOES BY, STANDARD WOULD GO UP. BUT MOST DEFINITELY NOT A PLACE, I SHALL WANT TO STAY IN, IT IS COLD AND BLAND, AND LONESOME. NOT LIKE IT;S SISTER HOTEL PARIS HOTEL.

Great location, friendly staff
Pros:

It's in a great location downtown. A short walk to shopping streets and a pleasant walk to the museum. The staff are very friendly and happy to assist. Perhaps not suitable if you are a light sleeper. Cairo traffic is loud and non-stop for 22hrs a day. Old building entry but renovated rooms. Downtown appears a much nicer location to wander around on foot than Giza from what we saw. Very safe & welcoming.

Clean and Comfy but watch the price
Pros:

Very clean and great location. Some miss understanding about paying in $USA not $Australian or local so make sure you double check this when booking through Hotels.com. It resulted in costing us more than we had budgeted for as they insisted on $USA with their own exchange rate!

Pros:

Very good location.
Boutique style.

Don't be turned away by the entrance at the bottom. It is a classic old Egpytian apartment builing. Once you get to second floor the hotel entrance is quite nice.

Perfect and an intimate hotel
Pros:

I have traveled all over the world and have been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, and by far this is THE best hotel that I have ever stayed in. The customer service was exceptional and so personable. We came in as guests but left as family. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to visit Cairo. The rooms are cozy and intimate, and the continental breakfast was perfect. The fresh squeezed orange juice was the best orange juice that I have ever tasted. Everyone was so accommodating. Essam and his staff made our trip memorable by recommending a tour company so that we could explore Cairo.

Good but very noisy
Pros:

The hotel is in downtown and in a building in a very busy street, and as in Egypt they are all the time honking it gets very noisy in the room. The room were not still ready, so they could finish before putting guests on it, there was no TV and no air conditioner, only the cables were there.
