Fosshotel Myvatn

Perfect location to explore lake Myvatn and the Diamond Circle. Our room was spacious, very comfortable with ample storage. The bathroom was large and kept nice and warm. The hotel itself is is simple and styled in a modern fashion. Breakfast however, was only adequate- I believe, this had something to do with them closing 3 days after we left. Food didn’t look particularly appealing and there wasn’t a huge choice but it didn’t leave us hungry.

The best breakfast we had in Iceland was at Hotel Akrureyri in Akrureyi- by a long way!!

However, we wouldn’t hesitate to come back to see the hotel in high season rather then when they are winding down- I’m sure the choice would be much improved

The Fosshotel Myvatn is centrally located for exploring the area of Lake Myvatn. All of the major sites are within an hour away by car.
This is a modern Scandinavian design hotel. there is a minimalist, eco friendly decor.
The breakfast buffet is very extensive.
Dinner is expensive, but so are all dinners in Iceland.
Service is efficient if not particularly friendly.
Lots of parking available in the hotel lot.
Once again, a good choice for the area.

Great hotel on an incline overlooking the Myvatn Lake. Our room had a standing room only balcony (still very good to have). Restaurant... dinners good and breakfasts excellent. Bartender and all staff very helpful and knowledgeable, especially regarding area and roads. Bar area large and comfortable. Rooms are spacious. Restaurant has a VERY large wall of windows to see the sunsets and the lake area.

Restaurant is awesome, good food and service. Room is spacious with good views. I had an amazing northern Lights experience There.

Excellent hotel

Beautiful hotel with a nice restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Not too much around but the view was nice and parking was easy.

Great location with superb views over Myvatn and the mountains. Good, quiet relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were freindly and helpful providing good service. The food was good with a reasonable choice. There is plenty to do and see in the area making this a great base for a couple of nights.

We had a wonderful room on the first floor with a spectacular view of Myvatn Lake. The restaurant was also very good both for breakfast and dinner. The staff were all pleasant.

We stayed two nights at Fosshotel Myvatn and it was very good. The rooms are modern and well equipped. The views from the restaurant are great. The restaurant and breakfast were also very good.

The room was comfortable and the views were pretty, but overall this was not our favorite stop along the Ring Road. There was a completely naked male guest in the co-ed sauna. Breakfast is not included, and so we paid for it and were disappointed with how overrun it was with the bus tourists that were visiting. When we went to check out, they said we had a charge for food and drinks the night before. This was not from us, so we had to dispute it with the reception desk. They did not charge us, but it still left us feeling meh about our stay.

This hotel is beautifully located with priceless views. Rooms very comfortable. Strangely there are not the usual toiletries. There is only one container that is supposed to be body, hair and conditioner. For the price of $300+ we would at least expect some toileteries. Otherwise, great. Don't forget to use the lovely sauna with more priceless views. Service was excellent. Just be sure to take your own toiletries.

Spectacular hotel and views. However felt a bit clinical especially in the evenings with no real atmosphere. Fires in the bar and restaurant never turned on and no games or reading material.

I left my water bottle and when i came back for it the staff was helpful. They made the guest feel comfortable by providing usb charger, facial tissue

Good Hotel with usual FossHotel-typical nordic style elements. Bar and Dinner were great and the staff was very helpful and on top of things. We will stay there again.

The hotel has an excellent view and location is super . The hotel has room service which is exhorbitantly pricey. The bed linen is average . No charging point near the bed . Bathroom is clean and spacious. The furniture is very modern. The staff is cooperative and friendly.

Such a beautiful location for a view of Lake Myvatn and the crater! The dinner view and food were amazing as well. Nicest room on the Ring Road trip.
