Pros:

Loved our stay at Phuoobfa Resort, the people that run it are so lovely. Went above and beyond to make us comfortable and feel welcome. They even got us a gift at the end of our stay which was so kind. Our bungalow was clean and big, we got fresh towels and there smokes everyday really brightened our mood. Will be back for sure!

Pros:

Lovely kind staff who even gave me free motorbike trips down to the main intersection. Nice room with a big big bed. In fact it was a whole cabin rather than just a room. I appreciated the coffee and sweet snacks they provided for breakfast. The owners essentially could not speak any English and there was no real reception area just fyi, but they easily made up for this with their hospitality.

Only downside is that it is quite a way from central Chiang Mai, if that's where you plan to visit often. I booked this hotel as it was my first visit and, not knowing about the Buddhist festival, I chose the one weekend where hotels in the city were super expensive and/or booked up already. I was able to get Grab App taxis from Nimman in Chiangmai to this hotel for about 750 baht each time. On that way into the city you can hop on a yellow open air bus that only costs 50 baht and drops you off at a bus station in old city Chiang Mai. So it's definitely very doable as long as you are ok with the 50-60 min journey each way. Also, just staying in the local area is great. Down the hill you can find great spots like the River Rock cafe, an elephant sanctuary, insect farm, and a botanic garden among other things.

Beautiful area overall, just ideally suited to someone who has a car or motorcycle.
