Greta location at the middle of Ortigia and hotel heritage
Rooms rather small for the cost charged.
Room
Size was good and location was excellent
Air conditioning wasn’t work well in the room, in the lobby it was non- existent. We were there at a very hot time and part of the stay were pretty unbearable
Staff beyond incredible. I fell and needed crutches. They treated me like family. The facilities were extraordinary. Location too. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who’s going to Sicily and say they should go to Siracusa just to stay there. I’ve traveled the world and stayed in some of the nicest hotels. This is the best I’ve ever stayed in.
Nothing I didn’t like.
Great location. High ceilings. Multiple bathrooms
Location and comfort
Two small criticisms.
The restaurant/bar is somewhat soulless.
Our shower was discoloured and leaked badly.
A truly beautiful hotel, perfectly situated in Ortigia. The imposing architecture of what was originally a post office is stunning and Ortea Palace has magnificent presence in this ancient town as a result.
Once inside, the welcome is warm, friendly and professional. Our check-in was made to feel personal and the team member who checked us in, showed us to our room.
Our sea view, duplex suite was magnificent. It was spacious, well designed and immaculate, with all the amenities you could possibly need.
Breakfast was a combination of a beautifully presented buffet, with additional al-a carte items on offer.
The staff team could not have been more welcoming, attentive , professional and kind. They absolutely cared about our experience. Something the restaurant Manageress said to me when I asked for some fresh milk for tea in our room “You’re at home … Of course I can bring you fresh milk”. That response captures the culture of the people at Ortea Palace.
We used the spa 3 times during our week long stay and found it to be a relaxing space with a good size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The staff here are also welcoming and obliging.
We travel frequently worldwide and no 5 star hotel we have stayed in has quite matched Ortea Palace. The hotel is stunningly beautiful inside and out and so are the people.
Bravo
Rien
It’s was a very nice facility and the location was good
The stairs in the room. Too much up and down and if you’re going to have 2 levels put a TV in both. I didn’t like finding out the addition fees were 30% on top of the price quoted. I should have been told that before selecting the hotel. 5% 10% I don’t mind but when the final bill is 30% higher that bothers me. Also at a 5 star hotel I expect someone to greet me when I pull up the car and no one ever did each time.
Situació
Tracte al arribar, car per el estat de les instalacions
Well placed, easy car parking in front, good breakfast
The location was perfect.
The views were magnificent from the higher floors.
The staff were so friendly
Some rooms were a bit dark and not very welcoming.
Beautiful hotel and great location. Unfortunately the ac units in all the rooms of the hotel are insufficient to cool the room. You will be hot at night trying to sleep. Also the lobby ac is out so not even breakfast is comfortable.
Location, room, breakfast
This was honestly one of those stays that just sticks with you, from the moment we arrived everything felt easy, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel itself is stunning , a former post office that’s been beautifully restored, with so many original features still intact, high ceilings, grand spaces, but still very comfortable and not overdone.
We were lucky enough (Titanium status definitely helped here) to be upgraded to a duplex suite with a sea view – and it really made the stay feel special. Waking up to that view each morning was something else.
At check-in, Caterina looked after us,she was incredibly warm and friendly, took the time to explain the town, gave a few recommendations, and just made us feel at home straight away, not rushed, not scripted, just genuinely nice.
Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better, right in Ortigia, and everything is within walking distance – restaurants, little streets, the waterfront – all just a short stroll away.
Breakfast each morning was a highlight – a mix of buffet and à la carte – fresh pastries, great coffee, and plenty of choice without it feeling overwhelming. You could take your time with it.
We also had dinner one evening in the main restaurant – and it ended up being one of our favourite meals of the trip. Francesco, who looked after us, was excellent – really knowledgeable about the wine, very personable, and what stood out was how he remembered and greeted us by name every time we crossed paths afterwards – a small thing, but it makes a difference.
Across the board, the staff were fantastic, friendly, attentive, but never overbearing, just a really nice balance.
All in all, probably the top hotel on the island, and somewhere we’d happily return to.
I still dream of our beautiful, well-appointed suite with huge balcony overlooking the sea, boats and stunning Ortigia. The hotel is top-notch---5 star quality, fabulous staff, lovely amenities, plus a scrumptious and extensive breakfast in the grand lobby. We loved every minute of our five nights. It's in a great location, steps away from the market, the bridges to Siracusa mainland, and so many amazing restaurants. Counting the days until we return!
Tres proche du lieu de tourisme de Syracuza
Extrêmement bruyant la nuit (ajourage sous la porte) ( douche d’angle avec receveur en PVC) ( spa et piscine surchauffés et obligation de réserver pour y accéder
