Hotel Kantawa is a property of extreme contrasts. My fiancée Paulinha and I stayed in Suite 109 for a romantic getaway, and while the culinary and wellness teams are phenomenal, the operational management and lack of basic safety protocols completely ruined the experience.
When this resort gets it right, they really get it right. The food was incredible—the Lomito Kantawa was cooked perfectly, and they properly honored our included meal packages. The spa services and the private river bonfire they set up were unforgettable.
However, the management is severely lacking. We settled our final bill at 1:30 AM after returning from the city, and a staff member explicitly promised someone would be at the front desk for our 4:30 AM airport transfer. Instead, when we woke up, the property was a ghost town. The main gate was padlocked shut with a heavy chain. We were completely trapped in the pitch-black jungle.
This isn't just an inconvenience; it is a massive fire and life safety hazard. If there had been a medical emergency, guests would be trapped, and emergency personnel would be locked out. To catch our international flight, we were forced to throw our luggage over a side fence and physically scale the metal gate in the dark, resulting in Paulinha severely injuring her hand.
I cannot recommend staying here until they overhaul their emergency protocols and overnight staffing.

Beautiful jungle setting, but keep in mind this is located at Kilometer 23, completely outside the city limits of Santa Marta. You are entirely isolated and will need to hire a private driver or taxi for absolutely everything off-property.

Very romantic, secluded, and peaceful. It is a fantastic environment for a couples trip if you want to disconnect.

We were in Suite 109 and it was excellent. The space was beautifully designed, very comfortable, and the AC handled the jungle heat perfectly.

They charge premium eco-luxury prices, but they sneakily added optional "Hotel Insurance" fees to our invoice when we paid at 1:30 AM. The complete lack of management and safety overnight severely brings down the value.

No complaints here. The suite, the spa, and the dining areas were spotless and well-maintained.
Noise Level: 4/5
Very quiet. You only hear the natural sounds of the jungle, which makes for a very relaxing sleep.
Service: 1/5
The kitchen and spa staff are amazing, but management is a massive failure. Looking a guest in the eye, promising to be there for their 4:30 AM departure, abandoning the post, and leaving them padlocked inside is unacceptable.

The on-site amenities are elite. The hot stone massages, the Choco Kantawa ritual, and the restaurant quality are world-class.

La naturaleza, los paisaje. Super el rio y todos lo hidromasajes

Insgesamt ein schönes Resort, um im Norden anzukommen. Service an der Rezeption super, Service an der Bar/Restaurant ging so... aber sehr tolle Anlage. Dass es mitten im Jungle nicht möglich ist alles picko bello sauber zu halten ist ganz klar 😉 wir waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Kleiner Hinweis auf der Homepage wirbt das Hotel damit auch vegane Speisen anzubieten, diese sind jedoch sehr limitiert und sehr klein portioniert.
Massage war super. Highlight definitiv das Horseback Riding.

Relaxte sfeer en een fijne plek om te verblijven. Vooral de Engelssprekende personeelsleden waren super behulpzaam en namen echt de tijd om tips te geven voor mijn verdere reis. Dat maakte het extra persoonlijk!

Ook heel lief dat ik denk de eigenaar me een rit naar Tayrona Park gaf. Dat soort kleine gebaren maken het verschil. Zeker een plek waar je je welkom voelt.

Hermoso hotel para desconectar y relajarse. La comida es un 1000, productos de primera calidad y sabrosos. La pileta, hidromasaje y sauna son increíbles.

A gem of a hotel near Colombia’s beautiful Tayrona Park. Beautiful grounds and spa facilities make it a relaxing stay. Wonderful staff and food.

Me gusto el ambiente naturaly lo que ofrece conectar con otros sentidos y la atencion muy bien de todos principalmente de Rosa y Juan Sebastian.

Es un hotel para el descanso, para disfrutarlo. Personal muy amable, en especial la gerente, que se ofreció a acercarnos a un punto que para nosotros era de complicado acceso, pues no disponíamos de carro.
El masaje con el sonido del rio de fondo es otra dimensión, recomendable 100%. Esa noche dormí como bebé, aunque igual tenía algo que ver la comodidad de la cama, la mejor en la que he dormido en toda mi estancia en Colombia.
La comida estuvo deliciosa, mis felicitaciones a los cocineros y al chico que atendía en el comedor, muy amable y atento.
Recomendable darse un baño en su spa al aire libre, especialmente en la noche.
Muy cerca del parque Tayrona, pasan buses por la misma puerta del hotel.
Hacer ruta por Tayrona y poder volver a relajarse a este hotel no tiene precio. Mil gracias por todo, deseando volver.

Alle medewerkers zijn super vriendelijk en gastvrij! Wij voelde ons meteen welkom!
De locatie is perfect, tussen de ingangen van het park. Wij kozen voor El Zaine en gingen daar met de taxi vanuit het hotel heen. Na een hike door de natuur konden we nog heerlijk relaxen bij het zwembad van het hotel. Het eten in het restaurant is ook goed!
