The Ellysian Boutique Hotel

Unbelievable experience at the Ellysian. Incredibly thoughtful, personal and caring staff. Location is 10/10, just a short walk to a fantastic coffee spot and the popular bars/restaurants as well. I would recommend staying here whenever visiting Placencia and can’t wait to come back.

Comfortable seaside rooms with great amenities. Bathroom had big walk-in shower and nice towels and robes. The staff were always pleasant, helpful, to the point of arranging a proposal location and photographs! Check in and checkout seamless. Very clean and personalized rooms with hand written notes. The location is perfect for walking everywhere in south placencia. Noise level was fine, can hear some noise from bars down the beach at night but nothing that disturbed the peace. View of the ocean and beach amazing, with cute poolside bar and food service from their restaurant. No elevators or hot tubs. Atmosphere cheery bright and village chic. Standouts are location and staff, can't beat it. Its a bit of a gamble with wind and sargassum (like seaweed), those are the two weather factors to consider, and rain if not dry season. Wind can get intense in evening. We got free drink upon arrival and the staff went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed.

This place was a wonderful hotel during our stay in Placencia! The location is excellent, you can walk to just about anything by beach or along the main side walk. Once you step out, you basically have access to anything you can think of. We had one of the lower level rooms that walked right out to the pool. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Also, they are incredibly quick when it comes to cleaning your room for the day. You would return from breakfast and it was already done! The staff was actually the BEST part of our stay. You get the sweetest little handwritten notes each night, which is really special because it usually mentions something specific about your day! One of the best was Teresa. She helped us kind of plan out our days for us when we weren't sure what to do. She truly made our vacation by her wealth of knowledge and recommendations!

Super friendly staff. My room was huge, quiet and cool. I had a walk-in shower and also a patio with a sofa. The zircon was effective and quiet and the curtains kept out most of the sun which made for good sleeping. Right on the beach with its own private pool and an airport shuttle. I can't wait to go back.

Great location and atmosphere. The view of the pool and ocean was wonderful and the team at the desk and the pool bar were friendly and helpful. Seamless setup of excursion and airport transfer. It really felt like the team knew us personally. Bed was comfortable and room temperature was great for sleeping. We would recommend.

We had such a lovely stay at the Ellysian. None of us have ever experienced such wonderful concierge service at a hotel, they truly went above and beyond when it came to anything - recommendations, reservations for restaurants or activities, even helping me get my luggage when the airline delayed it by a day! Teresa at the front desk was truly spectacular and took photos of us girls every night before we went to dinner. Vanessa at the beach bar is such an amazing mixologist - we didn’t want to go anywhere else for drinks! The Ellysian’s beach was gorgeous and a wonderful place to relax. It was an easy walk down the boardwalk to the restaurants, shops, pier, and main street. The room was spacious and comfortable and the food was also delicious. We can’t wait to come back!

My friend and I visited the Ellysian for my birthday and had such a fun time! The location is perfect, right at the inner end of the village strip so we could easily walk outside and have so many shops and restaurants to visit close by. The hotel is also two doors down from the Tipsy Tuna and Barefoot Bar which are very fun bars, always having live music or events going on. And it’s right on the beach, which was kept very clean and had good seating options.

All staff were very friendly and accommodating as well! We had multiple handwritten notes and evening messages brought to us which was very nice and special.

The room was beautiful and clean, we were on the third floor with a kitchen and access to the shared covered patio. It was super convenient to access the rooftop restaurant from our patio as well!

I’d absolutely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Placencia!

I stayed here last year, it was great, I returned the following year and not good, twenty people screaming for hours by the pool playing loud music, something not good happened to this hotel, we ate at the restaurant and not the same as the year before, needs new management

My family and I just returned from a New Year’s Eve trip to The Ellysian in Placencia, and it was truly the perfect way to kick off the year. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and incredibly relaxing.

The location is unbeatable—it sits right in the heart of Placencia, putting you steps away from the charm of the cozy beach town. We loved being able to wander through the village and then retreat back to the hotel’s serene atmosphere.

The staff here are the real stars. They were consistently friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure our family felt welcome and well-taken care of. Whether it was helping us with a request or just greeting us with a smile, they made the service feel personal and genuine.

We spent a lot of our time at the pool bar. The cocktails were expertly crafted and it was the best spot to cool off after enjoying the beach. Speaking of the beach—it is absolutely miraculous. The white sand and turquoise water are exactly what you dream of when you think of Belize.

For dinner, the rooftop restaurant, Muna, was a highlight. The food was awesome, paired with a stunning view of the coastline.

If you are looking for a boutique luxury experience that still feels intimate and connected to the local culture, The Ellysian is the place to be. We can't wait to come back!

I had an amazing stay at The Ellysian Boutique Hotel in Placencia! The property is modern, stylish, and perfectly located right along “the sidewalk,” making it incredibly easy to explore the village. The pool and beach area were fantastic—relaxing, clean, and never crowded.

Because the hotel is small, it truly felt like our own private resort. The staff were wonderful the entire time—friendly, welcoming, and always attentive. Special shoutout to the front desk team and the bartender at the pool bar, who made our stay even better with their warm service.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and centrally located spot in Placencia, I highly recommend The Ellysian. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Rooms were well kept, and the service was great. The locks and door knobs in certain areas need changing and tightening for security purposes.

The best view!!! Rooms are updated, clean and air conditioned. Service is exceptional, beach is gorgeous. The spa and restaurant are 10/10 and it’s centrally located in the heart of the Placencia village, within walking distance of everything.

Count yourself lucky if you are able to get a room at the Ellysian. It's beautiful, extremely clean, very quiet, and well located. The staff is fantastic. The bed, very comfortable. We loved using the kayak, and enjoyed the pool and beach as well. And it might seem like a small thing, but having filtered water just outside our door was super convenient. And don't miss the restaurant!

We had a 2 night stay. From fast replying emails to a warm welcome the moment we got in contact with the Ellysian. The room was spacious and clean. They have coffee makers (very important) we love to start our morning with a cup of coffee. We also didn’t get the chance to have breakfast in their restaurant however we requested Room service, the food was perfectly great! We had steak and eggs and pancakes with eggs on our first morning. The second morning we ordered French toast and couldn’t leave without eating the steak and eggs(it’s so good!). The food portions are generous!

I really enjoyed my stay at "The Ellysian" The staff were all welcoming, The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable, also to mention the food was delicious. The view at the roof top was also beautiful .

I had the most amazing time during my weekend solo trip to Placencia! The entire experience was incredibly refreshing and exactly what I needed. From the beautiful beaches and relaxed vibes to the friendly locals and delicious food, every moment felt special. I truly enjoyed exploring on my own, soaking in the stunning scenery, and taking time to just be present. Traveling solo gave me a renewed sense of freedom and joy. Placencia captured my heart in so many ways, and I already find myself wishing to return someday soon. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back!

Friendly staff, amazing accomodations, excellent food, beautiful views and very convenient location in the village. Everything was clean and comfy. My girlfriend said she needs to buy pillows like those at the hotel because they were super comfortable. Overall, highly recommended.
