Fabulous stay at Ballymascallon Hotel
Pros:

Ballymascallon is a really fabulous hotel. Area is ideal for trips. Dolman a must.
Great atmosphere in the hotel and the staff cannot do enough for you.
Very good value and breakfast and bar food fab.
I would like to give a shout out to Jacqueline Carey and all breakfast staff. And Jennifer &Laura at reception. All staff were so friendly around the hotel.

The surroundings, the room & general ambiance.

Cons:

Breakfast service on the first morning was poor, no staff on arrival. Poached eggs ordered & when they arrived they were hard boiled. Service was much better on the second morning with someone who was efficient & present in charge.

Cons:

Would have loved the outdoor hot tub to have been working. Also would loved to have sun loungers to chill out after the use of facilities

Excellent Conference Facilities.
Pros:

This time last week Rotary Ireland took their learning event for their incoming Presidents, partners & family to the wonderful Ballymascanlon Hotel. This year we adjusted the event slightly with a buffet in the Oak Room on the Friday night and dinner in the Garden Room on the Saturday evening. Yet again facilities and staff were brilliant and a special thank you to Andrea and Fiona and her Team. We have another event scheduled for May for smaller numbers and booked again for next year. Highly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble.

Leisure facilities were exceptional. Bedroom comfortable and clean.

Cons:

Service in the restaurant was extremely slow waiting over 1 hour for food and while waiting was difficult to get attention of staff to order a drink to table despite many staff walking around.

Location and staff

I was over for my mother’s funeral and arrived back one evening to finds the kitchen closed but one of the staff members rustled up a sandwich and some chips, I was so grateful. Thank you

Cons:

On arrival we were allocated the old area of the hotel, it was awful, didn’t sleep, noise levels like an aircraft landing outside.

The staff were very helpful getting us moved the next day but honestly we were so disappointed to be put in the sub standard rooms and charged full rate.

Pros:

Gorgeous setting, friendly and attentive staff and very comfortable bed and bedding.

Cons:

Leisure centre was disappointing, missing tiles and a stale smell in steam room, shower facilities and changing room did not include the toiletries as per bedrooms, or a swimsuit spinner and felt more like a public facility.

This was a great hotel, Definately be using this one again in the future

The food was excellent, Both the dinner and the breakfast.
The welcome was warm and helpful. The pool was great. We had a good stay and would recommend this hotel..
We were very pleasently surprised, great value for money.

Pros:

Hotel beautiful maintained so well,everywhere clean and tidy Staff so helpful and pleasant very professional The room was spotless Food amazing,we had dinner on Sunday night and then breakfast this morning Every possible taste catered for There was even a special toaster to use for the array of gluten free breads etc The whole experience was fantastic We'll definitely go back and we'll encourage family and friends too
