Great spot for a break
Pros:

Lovely hotel situated in the countryside. Leisure facilities were excellent and food was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere and lovely grounds

A highly recommended hotel with great accommodation, food and staff.
Pros:

Dinner on what was a very busy Mother's Day was fabulous as was the service. Breakfast was quality also.

Lack of Mgt Presence
Pros:

We had a fabulous family weekend in the Ballymascanlon Hotel. The hotel gave us 'Kelly's of Rosslare' vibes with the decor, and the relaxed atmosphere, but for the room price paid, I would love to 'feel' Mgt presence around the hotel i.e. "just checking to see if everything is ok with our stay", "are we enjoying our meal" etc. Perhaps it was because there was a conference on that weekend, but the place kind of felt 'rudderless' to us.
That aside, our room was comfortable, leisure centre nice, staff pleasant, breakfast adequate etc. We had a delicious meal in the bar on the Saturday evening.
Plenty to do in the Dundalk area / the immediate area of the hotel (Hill of Faughert, Strandfield), would recommend, aside from the above comment.

Pros:

The staff were so friendly and helpful..We arrived a little too late for dinner but the dining room staff kindly spoke to the chef and we managed to get some food..They went out of their way to look after us even though they must have been tired after a long day.

Pros:

We had our wedding here in the ballymascanlon hotel, From the day we booked the venue absolutely nothing was a problem, I honestly cant believe how easy and stress free the whole process was. The staff were absolutely brilliant on the day, the service not only towards us but towards our guests was second to none. Everyone hasn't stopped talking about how welcoming and helpful everyone was. Special thank you to Amy who was amazing and made sure all of our decor was set up the way we wanted and sorted everything for us in the lead up. We honestly had the best day of our entire lives. We cant wait to get back again to celebrate our anniversary.
Everything very well priced also, rooms, food and drink - food absolutely 10/10 guests at our wedding have said its the best wedding food they have had

Pros:

The facilities and the staff were excellent

Cons:

The restaurant menu was not great and very pricey. The bar menu was way better. I will stay again but will be eating in the bar.
