Ran out of tomato at breakfast
Fried egg rubbery
the room was very comfortable and the bed was comfy, bathroom really lovely with the rain forest shower, breakfast was fab , great choice of food and dinner we had in the bar and there were good portions and very tasty,
I cannot fault this hotel only I would love the evening dinner in the restaurant to be in a different room to the breakfast, that s why i prefer to eat in the bar which is a lovely space in this hotel. I have this opinion about a lot of hotels who cater this way. It is not a negative thing it is just my preference that if i am having breakfast in the same space as my dinner which one would usually dress up for the occasion, it just doesn't work for me as i have been there in my casual clothes for brekkie. It doesn't feel special enough. The food is very good so that is not it , it is just my preference to make the evening dinner more special to make it feel more special i would prefer to go to a different area for the dinner.

A lot. Surroundings etc0
Lovely location and easy to get to.
Service a bit slow in the bar when we went in for lunch. We were sitting for a quite a few minutes and no one brought a menu, we had to go and ask for one. The chap who took our order was extremely friendly.
Very pleasant stay
No complaints about stay
Nice venue and nice grounds for a walk the next morn. Good buffet breakfast and enjoyed the dinner.
Beautiful grounds and house. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant however found it a little but pricey and there was way too much food so alot of waste. Breakfast was quite nice also.
We were given room 133. Some of the hotel has been given a renovation however where we were was quite dated looking however the room was spotless and had a lovely view of the older outbuilding at the back. Shower was exceptionally tiny! After dinner we headed to bed about 10pm however we were kept awake until after 2am listening to the thumping tempo of music from the wedding in the function room. I feel these rooms should be given to wedding guests as unfair for other guests to be kept awake for hours. Our daughter was in a single bed which was very squeaky when she moved about. Unfortunately we don't feel we got the lovely relaxing night away that we had hoped for. We were married ourselves in the Ballymascanlon 10 years ago and have been back a few times since however left feeling very tired and disappointed with this last visit.
Attended a wedding here. Service and food were both excellent. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good also.
