AX The Saint John

We were very happy with our 10-day stay at this hotel. Reception staff were very helpful, polite, efficient and knowledgeable about the area. The restaurant staff at AX Rosselli where we got our daily breakfast, were polite, very helpful, friendly & efficient. The standard of their service met the Five Stars Hotel service. We like having our breakfast on the outdoor/street terrance despite slight busy with morning delivery traffic but also had a choice of indoor area & courtyard. Continental Breakfast were plentiful with choice of cooked eggs.
Our "Superior room" was at the front and on the top floor. It was spacious with adequate storage space with daily spotless cleaning. We had two balconies but are not suitable to relax with a drink or a cup of coffee at the end of the busy day or morning. The room can be noisy at night due to few bars with musical 'live' bands and stopped by Midnight.
We had a pit stop at the AX Roselli's Roof top Cocktails bar with lovely views over the bay. We love the hotel location within walking distance to major tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, bus and ferry terminals hence was the reason to choose this hotel for our first visit to Malta, enjoying Malta'sValletta historical buildings, culture, ambienct and vibes. We will stay here again.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. The room was spacious enough, very clean, and had a comfy bed. The staff were kind, friendly, and very helpful at check-in. We would definitely encourage others to make use of the facilities at the sister hotel where you check-in - there’s a rooftop bar and plunge pool. Would definitely recommend.

Quiet room

Lovely small boutique hôtel, ideally situated in the centre of Valletta. Stayed in a comfort room which was very quiet and well air conditioned - essential as the temperature was over 40 on several days. Breakfast was served either inside the sister hotel a few yards down the road or outside - great for people watching! Staff were all brilliant - Katho, Craig and everyone else whose names I don't recall. Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone visiting Malta.

The hotel was fabulous, they upgraded me and offered wine or champagne upon check in, all the staff were very helpful and attentive helping me with local recommendations. The rooftop bar and gym was very nice along with the location. Great room and everything was very clean.

Everything was absolutely fantastic! Exceptional location, service from the staff is impeccable and the rooms are gorgeous! Very comfortable beds. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Brilliant breakfast staff , Kathy, daman, Craig, all breakfast staff distant get all their names but thank you so muc, the concierge mohanmad tarik was fantastic full of information of where to go how to get there , and the icing on the cake was Samual from roof top grain the staff made this Holliday one of our .. best the food was great the rooms was perfect for us thank you to all at ax at John/ rosselli

Bella la struttura il palazzo molto scenico

Excelente localização, em zona animada, mas surpreendentemente silencioso no interior. Quarto espaçoso, muito limpo e com uma cama grande e muito confortável. Pequeno-almoço excelente e funcionários de uma simpatia e atenção excecionais. Uma experiência muito positiva, a repetir!

We stayed at The Saint John for a week on our first visit to Malta. The location is ideal for exploring the city. The reception and breakfast are at the sister hotel the Rosselli a couple of doors down and the service was exemplary throughout, from the way we were greeted on arrival quite late on the Sunday night with a drink and guide to what was on offer at the hotel and in Valletta (sorry we didn't get his name), to departure when we were able to come back to the hotel and relax before our late flight home.

Our room at the back of the hotel (504) was really good with a lovely little balcony overlooking the city and across to the Marsamxett harbour in one direction and the Med in the other. It was at the back so we didn't get any noise from Merchants' Street at the front, although in the centre of the city complete quiet cannot be expected. It wasn't intrusive. The breakfast (in Grain St, the hotel's restaurant) was first class with Katho and the team looking after us superbly and we had a really good dinner there one night too. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar Over Grain.

As and when we return to Valletta (which we're sure we will) we will definitely stay here again.
