AX The Saint John

Grundsätzlich alles soweit okay...wir hatten ein Hinterhof Zimmer. Wenig Licht, dad Lüften war auch aufgrund des schweren Stores schwierig.
In der Nacht aufgrund der Lage des Zimmers nicht möglich bei offenen Febster zu schlafen. Dafür war es ruhig.

Staff was amazingly helpful and the location was perfectly centered to all the activities.

Wow - what a gorgeous boutique hotel. We had the friendliest hotel welcome ever, with a complimentary glass of wine while we checked in. Note check in is in the next door Rosselli hotel (an even higher-standard sister hotel in the AX hotel group)- not a problem, do not let this put you off, as you also have an amazing breakfast here. So the AX Saint John has its own entrance a few seconds walk away from the Rosselli on the same street, and the rooms here are meant to be larger. Our upgraded room was absolutely huge, with high ceilings, an enormous 7 ft bed, and a balcony that closed off if you wanted it to be quiet. The rooms were gorgeous, extremely clean, with high quality linen, one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in, a large ensuite with plenty of high pressure and hot water. Breakfast in the next door Rosselli Hotel was fantastic, and the staff were all so friendly. Can't recommend this place enough! We were here in a cold week of rain and wind, so sadly didn't get to experience the rooftop terrace and pool at the Rosselli that is open to the public in the evenings. I forgot to ask if Saint John guests can use it during the day. The location was superb on Marchant street and St John street - easy for taxi/Uber/Bolt drop off and pick up. Also not far (walking) to get to the fast ferry for Gozo. The Saint John was close to the main Republic Street and all the attractions. Go early to St John's Co-Cathedral to avoid long entry queues (or try pre-pay online) and see the stunning Caravaggio painting of John the Baptist's beheading, don't miss the upstairs audiovisual explanation which was brilliant (called the Face to Face with Caravaggio). We also visited Mdina where the old city was beautiful, but a bit crowded (it was Good Friday!). Highly recommend a trip to quieter Gozo - overnight with car hire if you can, as such a different feel and lots to see / walk to there.

The breakfast was terrific and our waiter was outstanding!

Excellent staff, particularly Craig, who is extremely charming, helpful and professional. It's an upmarket boutique hotel, excellent food and finishing, ideally located.

Το δωμάτιο ήταν αρκετά κεντρικό και καθαρό. Είχε όλες τις απαραίτητες παροχές αν και ήταν ίσως το μικρότερο διαθέσιμο δωμάτιο του ξενοδοχείου.

Everything especially they upgraded us to rosellli 5 star compliments of the AX

Tout ! L’établissement est très joli, les chambres sont somptueuses, le personnel est aux petits soins, le petit déjeuner est gargantuesque !
