Very good, very clean hotel, staff very professional and happy to assist if needed. Well done Gouves Bay
Pros:

Lovely welcome at reception, hotel room recently renovated, food was good, variety, something for everyone. Local spirits good, and wine choice very good. Staff were very obliging, Maria on pool bar was exceptional, very talented and very very good at her job, Manos and Stavos were great all worked well together. Entertainment first 3 nights was great it’s a shame Carlos didn’t feel the need to entertain till end of season, overall a pleasant visit.

Lovely week, a few tweaks and this place could be fabulous as its staff and cats!!
Pros:

With a few tweaks, this hotel could be amazing. Twin Room was small ish but clean, however the bathroom almost too small too turn around in. We did choose the cheapest room option though. Beds were like concrete and had only one pillow, I should have asked for another. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and are the reason for my four out of five rating. Any issues were sorted fast, we only had very minor issues like no towels or toilet rolls which were clearly just overlooked and sorted immediately.
The pool area and gardens could be absolutely gorgeous just needs a spruce up. Another pool on the grass area before back gate would be marvellous as it would get more sun as half of the pool is in the shade by mid afternoon (maybe because it’s October and the sun’s position may differ during peak summer season).
The pool bar was wonderful, the lovely Maria and Stavros were very friendly and the all inclusive drinks were good, other than plastic disposable glasses.
The all inclusive food option was a mistake on my part, breakfast was great but lunch and dinner not so good but you could always find something to eat. Dimitri and the staff were super efficient and again very friendly.
The hotel is in a lovely peaceful spot, fantastic views, with a few lovely restaurants very nearby along the seafront, so it was easy to eat out, in hindsight a B&B option would have suited me better!!
Would I go back…if comfier beds and
only B&B and if the gardens had a bit of a refurb, yes I would cos it’s a lovely quiet spot to switch off!!
The Hotel highlight for me were the hotel cats…I absolutely loved them, they seemed well cared for and they loved dreamies!! If you don’t like cats it’s not the hotel for you, but you can ignore them and they do just wander off…

Lovely staff, but hotel needs serious work and future planning
Pros:

We booked to stay here for a week.
States 4 star, but a good 3 at best.
Our room was clean. But the mattresses were not good. Hard as nails, with no mattress protection on either.
Sore back for the week.
The cleaners at times missed cleaning our room a couple of times and didn't leave toilet paper or towels. A quick visit to reception had those problems solved.
The bathroom was small, but OK, but needed extra hooks to dry towels.
The food was OK. Being all inclusive, it was very repeative. A couple of the heat containers weren't working, which was concerning.
We ate out over half of our time there. There's some real hidden gems in the local area for food.
There's a large area of grass, which could be developed into something pretty amazing, but it just felt like a few run-down cabanas and sunbeds were just chucked in the space.
The hotel does need work and future planning in outside areas.
The whole hotel grounds need tidying up.
The hotel is overrun with cats. Brilliant if you love cats, but they didn't bother anyone.
But all the staff we encountered were lovely and welcoming. They all work really hard, but still have time for a smile or to chat.

Pros:

Would not return!
Pros:

After reading reviews when we booked this hotel months ago, and looking at photos we were really looking forward to our holiday here, however it was a huge disappointment. We arrived in the early hours of the morning, were dropped off at the back of the hotel with no directions and had no idea where to go – not a great start.
When we woke up the next morning, the electricity and water weren’t working, so we couldn’t shower, brush our teeth, or even flush properly. This went on all day. There were no soft drinks available anywhere and the food was cold because the heat lamps didn’t work.
The room itself was a nightmare: dirty, stained bedding and towels, bugs literally everywhere in the bathroom, a stained toilet, and the drain outside the shower overflowed constantly, leaving the bathroom floor soaking wet.
The food was the same thing every day, tastes horrible, and meal times are completely random - we thought dinner starting at 7pm was quite late!

We also booked a boat trip through the hotel’s excursion team and it was a disaster. The boat broke down, leaving us stuck in the heat for 3 hours on an overcrowded boat with no shade and no drinks provided. The boat trip was cut short because of this and we didn’t get what we paid for. When we reported this back to the excursions guy, he actually laughed in our faces with zero remorse.

All in all, most of the staff were lovely, which is the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review, but otherwise this hotel was chaotic, dirty, and poorly run. Definitely would not return.

Pros:

I would not rate this hotel 4* maybe a 3. The hotel is slightly tired, the pool/pool area could do with a good clean, it's altle grubby. Food, I'd say ok. Girl at the pool bar always look very unhappy šŸ™. We didn't find a great deal outside the hotel, a little on the quiet side with a few places shut down. The main problem at this hotel is ferrel cats and lots of them, all in the eating areas, 11 at lunch time today, staff do absolutely nothing to get rid of them, there are no signs whatsoever saying please fo not feed the cats ( some idiots do, and Dimensions of the cats are quite nasty) DO NOT come to this hotel if you have a cat allergy! We are pet friendly people but fo not want ferrel cats where we are eating, pushing around your legs and jumping on the tables!

Good experience
Pros:

At the beginning I was a little bit confused because of the really good ratings and really bad ratings.
The man at the reception is a real sunshine, such a professional worker. (Unfortunately I can’t remember the name, sorry). About Popi I can’t say the same. She should not work with people.
The food is really really good, and the people working at the restaurant is friendly as well. Maybe the cocktails are not all included, but I went with family and they were all happy. It’s true that some stuff are old, doors can’t be looked or some light they don’t work. But I think if I see all the holiday, I just can say thank you. We went 6 ladies (+50) and me (29) and we had the best time of our life.

Relaxing Holiday
Pros:

We came to Gouves Bay for a week with friends, we found the staff went above and beyond to help us, as myself and my friend needed different foods, I suffer with lots of allergies and my friend has celiac, the chef would come out every meal and guide us with what we could eat, every evening he would cook something different and suitable for my
dietary needs for me as I required low histamine foods which can be challenging, the food was delicious, The staff are all really friendly and helpful. This all went to help our holiday to be relaxing and stress free which was what’s needed, Thank you to all the staff that made this a most comfortable holiday.
Our room was basic but everything we needed, cleaned daily and toiletries replaced,
We had a balcony that overlooked a mature garden, the facilities although lacking a lift was a little challenging but the staff helped us to our rooms. The Hotel also offered spa/massage treatments we had a massage on 2 days I had 2 medical massages and really reaped the benefits- the 2 massage professionals were extremely good and listened to our needs, on arrival to the hotel you are presented with a 15 minute massage voucher we were able to use the vouchers and receive a very sizeable discount to our treatments, we would definitely recommend treating yourself.
There’s Lots of local restaurants in a close walking distance, and well equipped shops.
Definitely recommend this holiday destination for a relaxing holiday suitable for families with everything you could need close by.
The hotel has almost a homely feel and the staff recognises you quickly during your stay and make you feel comfortable, the entertainment is quite middle of the road but they try to make the most of it with different activities most evenings, there’s 2 pools central to the location one is shallower for young children, the hotel also has a play area and a children’s entertainer.

Pros:

La Struttura non e’ da 4 stelle . Troppo piccola, sembra una struttura a condizione familiare . Intrattenimento zero a parte una band 1 volta a settimana , nessun altro show ….

Amazing experience and lovely people
Pros:

I had a fantastic week at Gouves By Hotel!
From the very first moment, all the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. A special thank you to the bar team, who were always kind and made us feel at home.
During our stay, we also tried a massage: an experience worth 7 stars on its own! I was treated by Costantin, an excellent chiropractor, while my girlfriend had her treatment with Maria, who was amazing and professional. Both gave us a truly relaxing and memorable moment.
The food was also great, varied, fresh, and always well prepared.
In short, an unforgettable holiday: a welcoming hotel, outstanding staff

Little Gem of a hotel
Pros:

Just returned from holiday at gouves bay hotel and felt I needed to write a review. First off we’ve had a great holiday and that is partly down to the staff at the hotel. Be it the smiley lady chef in the morning cooking you breakfast, the amazing staff in hotel and restaurant, the brilliant bar staff Stavros, Nicos and Elle, also Teresa checking how the holiday is going and if she can help and the amazing Ben and Roxy sorting entertainment. These people are credit to the hotel and make the holiday a better experience. Plenty of choice for food and drink lots to do or if you just want to lay by the pool and enjoy the sunshine you can. I would highly recommend this hotel and we definitely want to come back. Thankyou all.

Lovely stay
Pros:

Just on my way home from a lovely stay here. Staff were very warm and friendly and the food was lovely. In a beautiful setting with the beach just a short walk across the road. The hotel room was ok but the bathroom needed some attention and the hot water was a bit on and off, in need of an upgrade. I would rate this hotel a 3 star for that reason. Also the cocktails on offer were not great and were a bit of a disappointment. However the staff, guest relations lady, the tasty food and charming cats made up for it.

Family holiday
Pros:

We’ve just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday and we were very grateful to have chosen Gouves Bay Hotel. Giving that family run type vibe, staff great and fair size rooms, everything was kept clean and tidy everyday. Fresh towels and some toiletries replenished and good air con.Food choices were mixed and home made and freshly cooked even right in front of us. We were given a taster massage at the Creta Spa. A massive shout out to COSTOS and MARIA. Exceptional treatments so much so even our kids had a massage each and then we all re booked. I had a medical massage to help fix an injury. Amazing work and would highly recommend if your staying at the hotel.
My only negatives were due to the amount of street cats in the area, there was cat mess in the lounging area and some of the outdoor grounds were poorly maintained. The floor area in the bathroom was quite slippy and would get wet a lot. Would love to see more Greek style evenings added and somewhere to tell us what was on each evening. The plastic cups were a shame. Understand that the bar beginning so close to the pool it’s a safety thing but reusable plastic cups would be a great introduction and may save them money.

I would highly recommend and good value for money
Pros:

We stayed on family holiday in the last week of August 2025.The hotel was kept clean and tidy. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The bufet style restaurant had a variety of meals to choose from. Our room was clean, tidy and well equipped. I got complimentary voucher for a Creta Spa massage which i liked so much that i booked 2 more massages myself. The hotel is well situated and close to the center of the town and beautiful sandy beaches nearby. The evening entertainment was good but i would like to see some of traditional Greek evenings. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is good value for money. I would definitely come back to stay at the Gouves Bay hotel.

Not a 4 star hotel.. ( 2 at best).
Pros:

Goaves Bay — The staff are 4 star, but the hotel, amenities and offerings are 2 star..
Tour should not be advertising this hotel as 4 star, it’s simply misleading and verging on lying. The brochure photos are very very generous..
The rooms are sub standard and poorly maintained, even the glass patio doors are dirty!!
The grounds could be spectacular but are poorly maintained and overgrown.. there is so much space away from the pool that is under utilised, more sun loungers / day beds at least would be good.
Breakfast offerings were horrendous, it’s a good job that lunch and evening meal were better.. standard fair but good enough for a few days.. The hotel needs to move away from serving drinks in plastic cups!!! We are in 2025, very poor…
The location of the hotel is fantastic great coastline and crystal clear sea ( take sea shoes though to get over the first 2m of rocky beach.. lovely area Goaves..
Like I say the staff are superb, reception bar and waiting on can’t do enough for you. It’s let down by maintenance and ground keeping. Air con in the rooms was basic, showers leaked, towels were thread bare!! but to be honest the owners / co of this hotel are simply not reinvesting funds.

It could be 4 star but a lot of work is required

All in all we had a great 4 day stay, any longer and I think it would have been much more of a struggle.
