Very pleasent hotel in a beautiful setting. Nikol who greeted us when we arrived was also very helpful in planning out other aspects of our trip and made sure we had everything we needed at the hotel. The pool is relaxing and the chef makes great food. We would very much stay here again. It is a little off the beaten bath and is fairly new, but I enjoyed this about the hotel.
The pictures look great, the reality is very different.
The hotel is right in the middle of a horrendously dangerous area. You can see from the pictures, it’s surrounded by 20 feet high walls, forming a prison like state - which it effectively is. Completely impractical place for a hotel, that leaves you unsafe to walk to the beach which is 30 mins away without a risk of being mugged.
The roads leading up to the hotel are only accessible via motorbikes or 4x4s, so taxis don’t visit or drop here.
When I visited, there were no food menus (had to ask the Spanish only speaking chef what’s available and tell him), no prices for anything (only found out how much the drinks from the mini bar were on checking out), no other paying guests (nice to have the pool to myself, but weird).
Insects were crawling all over the floors of the bedroom. And the bathroom is so poorly designed, any short people will struggle to sit on the elevated toilet, next to the shower - so it gets wet.
Effectively, this isn’t a hotel. It should be an air bnb for those who like dodgy areas. Hopefully the impending new management sort a lot of the issues out! Avoid in 2017 though!
Interesting hotel, more like someones house, actually very nice, but in a dodgy area and too far from the beach front. Great service from Elisabeth and the rest of the staff.
Exactly what you'd hope for in a tropical destination. Beautiful set up. Rooms were small but elegant and comfortable. Great pool. Super friendly staff. It's way up on the hill and a little hard to find but once you are in it's a very elegant place with great views of the mountain and free rides down to the beach. If you are on your way to Tayrona this is an excellent place to start from.
