Gorgeous, glamorous Gold Coast beauty
Pros:

Gorgeous, sexy hotel with sophisticated decor throughout. Rooms are decently sized, decorated with custom furnishings and big, big beds. Bathroom was fabulous - modern art painting hanging over the bath!!! Definitely worth paying extra for a lake view room: the whole wall is window from floor to ceiling and the view was mesmerising. The rooftop pool is just fabulous, and at night the rooftop turns into a swish bar area with great cocktails. The location was perfect, right on the Gold Coast with restaurants and pavement cafes on the doorstep - buzzing, glamorous and safe. Lots of stores and amenities nearby, 5-10 minute walk to top of Mag Mile and 30 minute walk to the Tribune Building. I loved this hotel and never wanted to leave.

Cons:

Minor details - the pillows were not quite firm enough for me, also the closet was small and lacked proper drawers.

Pros:

Unfortunately because of bad weather I couldn't get from NYC to Chicago for my stay at the Viceroy

As soon as I knew I couldn't make it I communicated and asked if there was anything they could do for me.

After 1 email I was left in limbo and had to chase for an update, they said there was nothing they could do even though all NYC airports were shut down for the whole day

Maybe I expected to much🤷‍♂️

Incredible Experience at Viceroy Chicago
Pros:

The Viceroy Chicago exceeded every expectation. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with stylish, modern rooms and incredible views of the city that made every morning and evening special.

The food was delicious throughout our stay, and every meal was thoughtfully prepared. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the service. Every member of the team was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay exceptional. Their hospitality was truly unmatched.

I highly recommend the Viceroy Chicago to anyone visiting the city. From the stunning accommodations to the outstanding service, everything was first-class. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when I'm in Chicago.

Moldy smelly room! Had to Amazon an air purifier
Pros:

Super disappointed in our room and the management at the Viceroy. It’s a great hotel with a wonderful location. BUT when I checked in on Thursday, our room smelled awful. Super musty and stale and moldy. I called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Told me to turn my air-conditioning to 60 and they could bring me extra blankets. !!??!!
Keep in mind we had a total of six rooms for our group for the weekend. I went into a few of the other rooms and all smelled fine. I had to amazon an air purifier so I could sleep.
Talked with the manager again today (day 4) and it still smells awful. He offered me $100 off. Absolutely ridiculous. Sadly. We will never be staying here again!

Not worth the suite price AT ALL
Pros:

The suite is NOT worth the price . For 4400. 00 for two nights, I could have stayed anywhere . And the “free” breakfast that was included, was not . It was a 50.00 credit which was false advertisement. They made the space sound much more grand than it was . For that price, there should be a turndown service and a clean gym at the very least (the amount of dried sweat on the machines was beyond gross ) There was zero wow factor .

Very few lounge chairs on the rooftop pool… I believe there are only 8 so good luck getting one . There were never clean towels when we went up to the pool and when I asked the bar tender where I could find some , he was very snarky and rude with his response .

Positive - The room was very clean !! And when you walked in, staff was friendly and greeted you .

Location was great !
