This is the hotel we use on a regular basis when in Kampala for work. The staff there are very friendly, the beds and pillows are comfortable, the breakfast is okay.
It’s a fantastic value-for-money hotel.
Downside - only a couple of local TV stations; no movie channel.
Parking can be an issue sometimes, but the hotel really try hard to accommodate us on this.
And no fridge in a standard room.
Other than these few minor items, the budget hotel is really great!
Central location. Staff are lovely. Parking area is too small which can be difficult. Some rooms are noisy.
Comfortable bed. Average breakfast. No bacon. More Ugandan style breakfast buffet.
Staff are really friendly and they all do an excellent job.
Parking is terrible as the car park is too congested; if you choose not to leave your keys, it takes 20 minutes to get your car in and out.
Bed and pillow were super comfortable. There was a loud mechanical noise outside our window for hours during the night - very annoying.
Staff are fantastic. Very friendly, polite and efficient. They really try to meet your needs.
No mini fridge so no cold drinks. No coffee in room - only 1 teabag and 1 cup for 2 people.
Universal power sockets which is fantastic.
Parking is so full with non-residents cars that they ask you to leave your keys. I refused and they accommodated me but it took about 30 minutes of stuffing around before I could park and leave.
Overall, it’s 3 star accommodation in a central business location. But in need of some room refurbishing.
Nice 3 star hotel. Rooms get very hot. Food is okay. Rooms are clean.
Everything was fine except WiFi in the room.
My son stayed here and what made HBT a great experience for him was THE STAFF! Thaey were very accommodating to all of his needs. He also loved the breakfast.
As a mother, I'm sending out a thank you to the staff for taking such good care of Justin :-)
My stay here was good! This hotel needs to think of getting a spacious location.
Needed a couple nights before heading on safari/gorilla trekking, etc. Surely, there is better in Kampala. The location was good to meet up for a city walking tour, but the area is noisy, rooms were hot and breakfast not very good. No good restaurants nearby that we could find. The staff were friendly but lots of key issues and excess waiting to sort things out.
This was about the worst stay i have had in any hotel. The hotel failed to deliver even on the very basic items as stated on its site. They ran short of beddings and I had to ask severally for pillow cases for my room and the staff were largely unresponsive.. even spotted a couple of small roaches in my room...not recommended!
Nice clean place.
Staff was fine, and helpful.
Bed was uncomfortable.
Amazing stay. The staff was very friendly and I think they deserve not only kudos but a raise.....
Very good place to stay, friendly staff.
I enjoyed my stay in my comfortable room and the excellent breakfast
The hotel was clean and rooms were just aa i saw in the photo. However, my room windows were faulty and leaked in water that started flooding my room. Thank God i was moved to another room. There was noise along the corridors of the 5th floors by staff in the morning.
The gym service was great but they can improve on the hygiene
Room maid and reception guy who advises on connectivity were superb.
One restaurant room delivery got lost and I was hungry for 2 hours.
It is a old hotel, no in room coffee or tea making, no fridge and aircon is weak. Sound proofing is bad
Absolutely everything from the booking to the taxi back to the airport was fantastic. Joseph on reception was excellent. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
The breakfast was very good with a wide range. The restaurant / bar was busy and had a nice atmosphere. It’s popular with the locals too. There were several small graduation parties whilst I was there. Great for people watching.
The hotel felt very safe. Probably best not to wander out after dark if you don’t know the area.
I will definitely book this hotel when I’m next in Kampala.
I liked the town center location, the view from my window and staff kindness. I did not like showers in the tube, there are no curtains to prevent water splash outside the tube. Afterwards all bathroom's floor is wet.
