The place to go to get away from the crowds
Pros:

Free pick up from the railway station, we were made welcome and shown to our dual aspect double room on the 3rd floor. It was quirky, comfortable and quiet. The hotel (a collection of buildings) is in a small village that has probably seen better days but it's an easy and very cheap taxi (DiDi) ride into the centre of Guilin. There's free use of the hotel scooters but it's also actually a pleasant walk into the next village where you will find the Reed Flute Caves (definitely worth a visit). Two nearby restaurants, there's also a limited menu if you want to eat in the hotel.

Cons:

Breakfast was fresh fruit (really juicy mango - and watermelon) and yogurt, then western or Chinese. We had the western breakfast which was a fried egg on toast.. but the egg was always pre-cooked so a bit congealed. Toast, bar one day, was also pre-prepared. It was fine but freshly cooked and maybe a bit more of choice would be nice.

Pros:

We loved our stay at the Secret Courtyard! It's tucked away a bit from central Guilin, but we loved the quiet location and there were several restaurants within walking distance so it didn't feel isolated or inconvenient at all. The host who greeted us at the hotel was SO kind and helpful. We were only there for one night but he was able to arrange massages for all four of us (myself, my boyfriend, and my parents). We were leaving early the next morning (6:30AM) for Yangshuo and the host packed up breakfast pastries and fruit the night before so that we would be able to take breakfast with us in the morning! I highly recommend this hotel for the kind, helpful staff and beautiful location with lovely views of the karst mountains all around.

Sehr nettes Personal. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Sehr sauber. Ruhige Lage und mit didi schnell in der Stadt. Gutes Restaurant gleich um die Ecke.
Es werden kostenlos Scooter zur Verfügung gestellt. Buchung unserer Li Cruise wurde organisiert und war sehr gut. Hatten eine Villa für uns alleine.

Pros:

Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einem sehr netten und gut geführten Gästehaus, etwas abseits vom Guilin- Zentrum, was für Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sorgt.
Der Gastgeber Xiaoming ist ein überaus aufmerksamer, kundenorientierter und herzlicher Mensch! Er kümmert sich rührend um die Gäste- wir kamen am Spätabend, gegen 22h und da hatte er uns mit einem leckeren Getränk begrüßt, dazu gab es kalte Wassermelone. Er hat unser Gepäck die Treppe nach oben in unser Zimmer getragen, hat uns alles gezeigt und erklärt. Da wir morgens früh los mussten, hatte er von sich aus angeboten, das Frühstück eine halbe Stunde früher für uns vorzubereiten, damit wir unseren Zug schaffen - das war wirklich toll! Und vor unserer Abreise hatte er uns noch einen Lunchpaket mit frischem Obst und Wasser mitgegeben. Für all das gibt’s für Xiaoming die zehn Punkte von zehn!
Das Frühstück selbst war sehr lecker und liebevoll serviert( siehe Fotos) Es gab sehr leckerer Obst, Joghurt und zwei Gerichte-Optionen: westlich und asiatisch. Die asiatische Reisnudeln waren super lecker und dazu gab es Kaffee in sehr guter Qualität..
Unser Sohn hat das liebevoll eingerichtete Kinderzimmer sehr gemocht, es gab sehr schöne Plüschtiere und Schaukel:).

Cons:

Die Fenster in unserem Zimmer waren etwas beschlagen, deswegen konnten wir die schöne Aussicht nicht vollständig genießen…
Da die Unterkunft in einem kleinen hübschen Dorf liegt, fängt es dort das Leben etwas früh am Morgen an;).
Das alles nicht wirklich störend, ich wollte es nur erwähnen..

É stata l'esperienza migliore di tutto il nostro viaggio da qualsiasi punto di vista! L'ospitalità è fuori dal comune: ci hanno messo a disposizione i motorini per girare comodamente in centro e si sono offerti persino di lavarci i vestiti. Ogni volta che rientravamo, trovavamo sempre anguria o frutta fresca ad attenderci. Un grande punto a favore anche la colazione, con opzione sia continentale che cinese (una vera rarità!). Staff di una disponibilità unica

Cons:

la struttura nel suo insieme potrebbe migliorare un po' esteticamente o nei dettagli, ma la gentilezza dello staff e i servizi offerti ripagano ampiamente

Pros:

I was travelling alone and I was very happy with my room and the staff. The owner and his son where very kind and I especially enjoyed the electric motorcycles which you could ride free of charge. I was out every day discovering the city. It was amazing! I will return to this hotel when I come back to visit Guilin

Perfect stay
Pros:

The staff is so kind, they gave us tea and food at the check-in and also at the check out (banana, water and tissues). The position is 15 minutes by car from the city center but I appreciated the calm and quiet place (which is needed in China)
