We have been coming here for so long I can't remember. The welcome is as warm as ever and the place is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The huge ski room is a real bonus in winter and the nearby sauna and relaxation suite is welcome after a hard day on the slopes. The breakfast buffet is generous and has a very wide range of choices including vegan and gluten free options. Dinners are good sized and tend to be on the more healthy end of the spectrum and again have a range of choices including vegetarian. Parking right outside and easy access to Skiwelt and Kitzbuhl areas.
prachtig hotel, met supervriendelijke gastvrouwen..
heel leuk verblijf gehad.
We stayed for four days at Landhotel Lechner as part of our Austria trip.
The hotel is wonderful in an elevated quiet position above the town with a good-sized car park. Most of all, it is a very friendly hotel with a lovely ambiance, and we felt very much at home straightaway.
Barbara Lechner is the perfect host, very welcoming and friendly, and speaks good English. During one of our walks in the countryside, my wife got a nasty insect bite on her leg which had become infected. She showed Barbara who, without any hesitation, arranged an immediate appointment with her own doctor so she could be seen before the surgery closed for the night.
Our room was spotless with a lovely walk-in shower and we had beautiful views down the valley from our balcony. The food is excellent with a wide choice at breakfast. We had chosen the very reasonable half-board option and enjoyed the three course dinner at the hotel each night. There were three choices for the main course, including a vegetarian option. Dinner was excellent with large portions and beautifully presented, especially the delicious deserts! The restaurant server, Elisabeth, was very friendly and helpful and she gave us some good tips for our walks.
We can thoroughly recommend the Landhotel Lechner. It was our first visit and hopefully not our last.
We have been coming here for years and despite Covid the welcome was as warm as ever. Lovely furnishings in room, modern bathroom with big walk in shower. Service remains top notch, welcoming, very comfortable, warm, wonderful breakfast buffet and good choices for dinner. Nice list of wines and schnapps. Large secure ski room. Sauna was also available to book for private use. Would recommend to anyone.
WE have been coming here for years now manly for skiing but a few times in summer.Warm, very clean, very comfortable and very welcoming. Just one hour from Innsbruck or Salzburg and handy for both Skiwelt and Kitzbuhl ski area, plus local attractions.
Everything is just right, the breakfast buffet is extensive and takes into account special dietary needs and for dinner, if half board there is always a vegetarian option and all meals are healthy eating. You can also indulge in local specialities from the a la carte menu. The wine list is small but very high quality and restaurant service is extremely efficient: a lesson for many places.
The sauna and wellness area is large with sauna, steam room and showers plus 2 relaxation areas: very pleasant indeed.
Views all round are amazing.
Barbara, Franz and the team are wonderful hosts and do their best to make your stay the very best. There is a continuing programme of room redecoration to add a more personal feel to your stay.
We have been coming here for a number of years, mainly for skiing but also in the summer sometimes. We are made very welcome, as are all guests, the rooms are very comfortable and a number have been upgraded and personalised in style. Shower rooms are very modern with lots of hot water and a basket of amenities.
For skiers, there is a large, secure ski and boot room plus mountain biking accommodation in summer. The large sauna / steam room /shower /relaxation suite is the ideal end to a strenuous day of alpine sports or hiking.
There is a good breakfast buffet with a wide variety of hot and cold choices including house eggs and jam. They now have some gluten free options and soya milk.
The a la carte menu has a range of hearty, traditional meals plus lighter options and modern options.
The half board set menu has 3 choices of mains always including vegetarian. The choices are usually also healthy choice style but include venison, steak and salmon for example so definitely no spartan and generous portions. Desserts are getting better and better. The wine list is short but expertly selected and there are some special schnappses also.Go indulge!
Went here for our wintersport holiday with toddler. Big spacious and clean room. Modern bathroom. Good breakfast and nice location. Friendly hosts and hotel gives you a nice Austrian feeling. One thing is they don’t have a kettle in room (so you might bring one yourself) and the room is a bit warm. Which is likely normal with the temperatures dropped outside to -20degrees.
Hotel is located out from the centre so great for relax after skiing. In package you can order dinner and skipass. The owners and staff are very friendly and professional. Room aranged practically and with taste. Ewerywhere is very clean.
This was the third summer break we have enjoyed at Landhotel Lechner and we have never been disappointed. The hotel is very well located as a base for walking in the area and the staff are unfailingly helpful and friendly. On this occasion we were fortunate enough to stay in one of the newly refurbished rooms on the top floor of the hotel which was spacious, immaculately clean and gave us fabulous views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Out deal included a lift pass and a packed lunch each day which we were able to complete using the wonderful selection of breads and fillings which guests are treated to at breakfast. The hotel also provides a small newsletter on the breakfast table which includes helpful weather information and suggestions for places to visit and walks to undertake in the local area. The weather was very kind to us so we were able to enjoy our evening meals on the spacious sun terrace. The portions of the 4 course meals were very generous and consistently delicious and always served with a friendly smile. The range of drinks available from the bar was equally impressive. We cannot wait to return next year and unhesitatingly recommend the hotel to other guests. I can assure you you will not be disappointed.
We come here to stay while skiing and decided to have a spring holiday based here this year. The team lead by Barbara and Franz with Elizabeth and the "room fairies" were as warm and welcoming as ever. The food was again very good, the views from the restaurant are lovely and I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Also a great base for exploring the surrounding areas of the Inn valley, the mountains which have excellent walking paths and the small Lake Schwarzsee.
Well situated for the Skiwelt and Kitzbuhl ski circuits plus access to the road to Innsbruck (east) and Salzburg (west) and their airports. Also a range of other summer and winter attractions such as the silver and gold mines, Swarovski Kristalwelt and shop, Riedl glass factory and more. Good views of the surrounding mountains.
The hotel is warm and delightfully decorated with all sorts of slightly kitch accessories that work perfectly in their setting. Always clean, welcoming and comfortable. The sauna and wellness area is a great way to relax after skiing and the half board menu always includes a vegetarian choice. The food is mainly Austrian influenced, hearty but healthy. Breakfast is a vast collation. The team of staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. There is free wifi and cable TV and a large secure ski room with heated boot racks and a lift servicing all levels.
Barbara has recently invested in Riedl wineglasses, a total treat. The wine list is short but skillfully curated and very reasonably priced. There is also a range of special oak barrel aged schnapps. In short, it really is like being at home but without the housework and cooking.
This is about our 5th skiing trip to this hotel and the welcome is as warm as ever. It is spotlessly clean, warm, cosy and comfortable throughout. The sauna suite is a great treat after a day on the slopes. The half board menu rarely fails to have something you fancy and caters towards the a more healthy style of dining. The wine list is short but very good. Service is remarkably efficient. The breakfast buffet is vast although I did mourn the passing of the samovar which has been replaced with a modern hot water dispenser. Nice to note that the breakfast eggs now come from the family's own chickens.
My wife and I paid a short visit to this hotel in 2014 and said when we left, we would be back and we were for10 days in July this year (2015) The hotel owner could not have been more attentive and the same with the staff . We felt so comfortable and all the hotel was kept very clean . Our room was very spacious and although a little noisy from the road traffic at certain times it in no way spoilt our holiday. The kitchen served a wonderful selection for dinner and always done to perfection. similarly the breakfast buffet had a very good choice. The sun terrace was a most relaxing place to pass the time away and enjoy the view. We will return in the not too distant future.

This hotel is also known as "Gasthaus Spertendorf". The owners are the Lechners. If you are English speaking you will probably interface with Barbara Lechner. This is the finest hotel I have ever had the honor of staying at! Panoramic views of the alps in all directions. I requested a room with a balcony and was granted one at no extra expense, so was able to walk outside of my room and at any time see the magical mountains surrounding it. The room was comfortable and small.
The breakfast buffet was gourmet and of utmost excellence, clearly collected from local farms and providers - it was delicious! The hotel also offers a dinner, and while I originally signed up for it, I later opted not to take it, as I was not sure i could be back in time for it. The menu for dinner changed every day and looked excellent - offering classical Tirolean fair. You are given a reserved table, fancily dressed, with amazing views of the outside mountains. The wifi was fast and free. Perhaps the only issue with the hotel itself was it lacked air conditioning seemingly, although I just cracked the door to the outside balcony and it cooled my room off fine! The traditional build of the hotel was absolutely enchanting for an American who rarely encounters such wonderful Austrian woodwork and loves the smell of pine.
Perhaps the best selling point of the hotel was the service. Barbara Lechner will give you a briefing on the local area when you first arrive and provide numerous guide maps, brochures and answer a variety of questions. She will help build an itinerary for you. Arriving relatively unprepared I can say that she was invaluable in making my trip in the Kitzbuhel alps an exceptional one. Her family even offered to drive me to/from the Kirchberg train station which is about a 25 minute walk away, which I declined out of courtesy. I feel like Barbara was "on call" to help this relatively clueless American - which was especially useful considering all the guests at the hotel appeared to be German speaking.
The price of the hotel is very low compared to the quality - and I am already making arrangements to come back soon.
We had an excellent service, enjoyed it every time we came here. Food is fresh and tasty, but nobody can beat the speed of the service. Wherever we go, we measure it against service level of in particular Miss Elisabeth. Your glass will never be empty, which is a bit tricky.... They were always ready to accommodate all of our requirements, allergies, food and dring preferences.
We got excellent service from the owner of the hotel. We were taken from the trainstation by car to the hotel and back when we left the hotel next morning. The family room was spacious, there was everything needed (Wifi, many beds and it also had a balcony). For the dinner you could order a menu (Soap, salad buffet, main course and dessert) for only 10 euros or order from a list. The breakfast was ok.
This hotel is a great choice if it doesn't need to be in the central (1.5km from the central).
This is a wonderful family run hotel. Exceptional friendly service is provided in a relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are spotless with great attention to comfort. The quality of the food served is fantastic. After booking online the comunication with the hotel was very good, who promptly answered all our queries. With spectacular views of the Alps, we would definitely put this hotel on one of the overall nicest we have spent a weekend in! Well done to all at the hotel, and thank you for a lovely short break.
We stayed at this hotel on a half board basis over New Year 2009/10. I found and booked it through Venere.com. We had a week skiing and wanted the All Star Pass to travel around, so wanted a centralish base. Kirchberg was the destination.
Firstly, I emailed the hotel and ordered 2 x 6 day ski passes and a parking space to be reserved, as we didn't want to fight for a space after such a long journey. Both were dealt with immediately and the day before arrival we received an email wishing us a pleasant journey.
On arrival, we were given a warm welcome by Barbara Lechner (the owner) and she moved her own vehicle, with which she had reserved a space for us. We arrived in time for evening meal, and our table for the week was in a quiet corner of the dining room and we were seen to immediately, where a cold beer was promptly ordered! Although we spoke fluent german, the menu was in English everyday and we conversed between the 2 languages.
We were in room 301, which was on the top floor and was a wonderfully quiet location. Although there were many children in the hotel, we heard nothing and slept soundly every night.
Breakfast was plentiful for a full days skiing. Tinned fruit (I agree, not the best), yogurts, cereals, hams, cheeses, fruit juices, hot bacon, sausages (municher), scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cakes & pastries, selection of fresh rolls. I took my own teabags, but there were a variety of teas and the coffee was good and plentiful. The evening meal was a 3 course affair, normally a meat, fish or veg menu. The food was ok, but nothing to get excited about.
We popped into the small bar area on a couple of afternoons after a day on the slopes. The gin & tonic was reasonably priced compared to some ski areas, and was poured with ice & lemon, which is a rarity!
The wellness centre at the hotel was ok, but we drove round to Ellmau and did a couple of 4-hour sessions in the Kaiserbad. Fantastic!
We went skiing at Skiwelt, Kitzbuehl, Saalbach and Schneewinkl at St. Johan and found this to be a great location. The ski bus is about 5 mins walk from the hotel.
We walked into the village and it took about 25 minutes, across the field and up through the station. The M Preis supermarket is also by the station. Kirchberg is a small, pleasant village with some loud apres ski bars, the Robin Hood and the London Pub, Coconuts and the Alibi were frequented by us for a few tiples and some foot stamping to the old schlager (eurotrash) music! Love it!
Only down side, as mentioned by the other guest, was the heat in the hotel. Although we were in minus temperatures, we had 2 windows open all night, as the room was unbearably hot! Underfloor heating with no thermostat control!
Other than that, this is a warm, friendly hotel, which is excellent value in my opinion. The serving staff in the dining room are also prompt, friendly and proffesional. The hotel put on a great firework display New Years.
I stayed at this hotel in the heart of the Austrian mountains for almost a week and it really was a beautiful location and in truly magnificent surroundings which makes for a very relaxing place to stay.
The hotel is located in the north of the town/village of Kirchberg and there were some lovely coffe shops/ice cream parlours and a great italian with an outdoor balcony for eating. Kirchberg also has a very well stocked supermarket which is on the way into the town from the Spertendorf Hotel, so plenty of options for extra food.
A car would be a must for staying in this location and all the other guests staying were there with a vehicle. In the surrounding area there is plenty to do and the lovely town of St Johann is only half an hour away in the car. There's plenty of options for walking and cable cars in the summer and also a real hive of ski-ing activity in the winter.
The hotel itself has rooms over 3 floors and there is a lift too which is always handy for bags etc. The rooms were quite basic, but the shower was fantastic and the fixtures and fittings in the bathrooms looked very new and there was a huge sink too. Many of the rooms have access to a balcony which was a lovely option and the views across the open countryside were wonderful. There were stables nextdoor to the hotel and it was lovely to watch the horses grazing and playing together. There was reasonable storage in the room and the bed was comfortable too. Try and get a room that looks over the fields at the back of the hotel, it is just spectacular.
There were only two downsides to the hotel. The first was the noise coming from the rooms directly above rooms 205 and 206. Some of our group were staying in the 2nd floor rooms and we think it is the owners that live above. It was a shame it sounded as though they were wearing lead boots and there was lots of noise, so it was hard to relax in these rooms during the evening. But if you avoid these rooms, I doubt it would be a problem.
The second downside was the heat in the hotel. The bedrooms didn't have an obvious radiator but the heating seemed to be on and despite having the balcony doors open full, it was difficult to get the room comfortable. And this was on a day when it was raining and along 15 degrees C outside. On all the other days it was much warmer outside, yet the inside was still quite stifling.
The food in the hotel was okay, nothing to write home about. The breakfast room was well serviced and the staff were brilliant with bringing extra coffee and making sure everything was okay. I guess the cost of the rooms meant the breakfast was only ever going to be canned fruit, watered down orange juice and a disappointing selection of cereal. The bread and jam/chocolate spread were plentiful, but if you like cereal then it would worth taking your own to supplement the options. Coffee in the hotel was good and there were some simple options for lunch and a set menu each evening for dinner, but we didn't eat there in the evening.
The extra facilities at the hotel are a sauna and steam room which are a great extra to have in a hotel which is such great value.
If you are travelling with a family or want great value and homely accommodation, with a warm and friendly welcome then this would be a great choice.
