Good location easy to find restaurants, banks and hospitals, you must understand that the hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Guangzhou with old decor
It’s good
Pros
Its a Historically building in a convenient location where you can reach sightseeing, shopping and eatery in walking distance.
Prices are reasonable. Rooms with Riverview are slightly higher but worth it. I would recommend it.
Cons
It’s a bit dated, requires upgrade to keep its former glory.
friendly staff, accommodate to request, sadly wifi does not work for foreigner, location just opposite the river with nice night view, many restaurant nearby
It is 1930s historical magistic building. It keeps its magnificant period look and inside fitted with adequte modern furnishing, air conditioning and clean bedding and room. For $60 a night, that is a steal. I was originally expecting $120-to 14o a night. Good value. Highly recommended.
房租平宜,房間整潔舒適,價錢合理,浴室磨沙玻璃門太光猛,影响睡覺。
This is a vintage style 3-star hotel founded in 1937, also known as Oi Kwan Hotel. It used to be the tallest building in Guangzhou. Situated in the riverside and well-equipped with retro facilities, taking you back to the past. It's worth a visit to this historic hotel.
L’hôtel est au bord de la rivière des perles près de l’île de Shamian.
La salle de bain est vétuste, il y a des odeurs d’égouts.
La moquette est sale dans la chambre
酒店非常殘旧,房間也十分暗。不會再選舉。
Overall my stay was good. The large room with Pearl River view was well set up and met my expectations.
衛浴設備/早餐差了些,附近環境不錯👍漫步江邊^_^
入住那天天氣較冷,但酒店沒有暖氣供應............
酒店對面的珠江很美!
酒店和房間殘舊……。不可以住!差!差!!差!!!
I have stayed here several times over the last 10 years. Not much has changed, still old and badly needing repairs and updating. The rooms have been painted over but the bathrooms needs a total renovation along with all piping and fixtures. Our room safe didn't work. It didn't work the last time I was in another room either. Our room faced the Pearl River and the view is fantastic. Location is great. Prices are low. they should increase the room rate and use profit to improve the property.
After we checked in, we wanted to take a nap, just when we fell asleep, the hotel phone rang, we took up the phone, could not hear anything, we laied down again, the hotel phone rang again, and again we could not hear anything after picking up the phone, then we upplugged the phone line when back tp sleep; a few minutes later, hotel staff nocked on our door, and told us to contact the front desk, we called the front desk, could hardly hear what they were saying over the phone, they were telling us that they did noy pick up our date of entry into China when they scan our passport at check-in, and need to reconfirm. The second day, when we were asleep, someone know on the door again, we woke up, open the door, but no one was outside. We wanted to hand "Do Not Disturb" sign on the outside handle of our door, but could not find such a sign anywhere in our room.
I dine here often with my family. The food is basic cantonese. Yum Cha is not too bad, good range of choices. The stir fried noodles are always very oily. Service is quick. They don't get too many westerners in here, so be prepared to get stared at while you are eating by staff and other guests.
I styed twice in in late November 2014, first time room was very good with river view, however second time room was without a window and was not nice but reasonable.
Hotel is in need to urgent repairs, its very old and was built in 1933, I don’t think since then they tried to change anything!!!!
If you are looking for budget place then don’t look further, but keep in mind its only good for mobile wholesale market Nanfang Dasha, otherwise its 15 minutes walk from subway/metro.
It is old hotel but location is good for one who want to shopping near yi de lu. The hotel is in front of the famous river. Near the hotel have many good restaurant.it The pictures shown over the website are fake, this hotel is actually 2 floors of a parent hotel, which are kept as economical rooms, however rooms are not at all maintained, doors handles are not also properly fixed. sofa are broken. lights not working properly. Poor internet connection and very poor staff service. Short stay for one or two night is fine.
Our travel agent booked this hotel for us. It's on old building from the 1930's pity it has no Art Deco details. The room was clean so was the bathroom. Everything worked even the wifi although it is slow. The room has a high ceiling, but is also very noisy especially if you're have a room at the river side, as we had. You could hear the traffic jams and the plains who flew over. The beds were okay , a bit hard but should be worst. If you're looking a simple hotel this is the one.
