Pros:

The hotel is not up to date to be able to receive payment from Expedia. We arrived and they did not have our booking or payment - despite paying upon booking here. Expedia was helpful to send a refund, but do not book this hotel online. Otherwise, it is a basic place.

A mixed bag.
Pros:

Not realising that the hotel is on two sites, I turned up at the wrong one. It was pouring with rain and the lovely ladies at reception confirmed my booking and gave me a room on that site so I didn't have to drive in the rain.

The hotel is not the most logical in how it has been laid out and the room designs are a bit baffling. Also, it was loud at night because there is a club close by. Musics was blaring till 5am but I guess that's beyond the hotel's control. Breakfast was nice and because of food and the staff, I would stay again.

In the middle of the city, but quiet enough.
Walking distance from the main road and market, and a nice restaurant really close

Pros:

This was my second stay at Gracious Palace. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and courteous.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast is also a nice touch.

Gracious Palace Hotel is a very nice place.
Pros:

The staff at Gracious Palace Hotel were extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel is older, but very well maintained and extremely clean and safe. It is within walking distance to the market area and shops. There are plentiful drivers in the area to take you to local destinations and more. The food provided by the hotel is primarily Ugandan and very tasty, but there are other food alternatives on the menu. I recommend the tilapia.

Overall, our experience at the Gracious Palace Hotel was generally better than comparative lodgings in the USA, but at a better price and with a staff helpful and friendly — something you don't come by very often.
