The food wasn't great . No atmosphere in the bar/ lounge.
This is a lovely hotel with dedicated, welcoming and friendly staff. It is located on the outskirts of Newry, a short taxi ride from the City Centre (fare £5 - 6). The rooms are spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean. The quiet location and comfortable beds make for a good night’s sleep. A great place to stay in a nice part of Ireland.

Easy check in. Clean comfortable rooms. Receptionist organised taxi for me.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and clean and it was a reasonable price.
The staff were lovely and welcoming and some had clearly been there a long time and locals could have a laugh with them. Made me feel comfortable in the restaurant.
The bottom floor has a corridor to the rooms which has some fire doors half way down. I was given a “non smoking” room.. I didn’t even know smoking rooms were still a thing in 2026.
Through the night I woke and could smell cigarette smoke coming through my bathroom vent but also when opening my hotel door the corridor reeked of stale cigarettes.
Once I went through the fire doors halfway down the corridor, it smelled fine. I assume my room (115) was in the smoking section of the hotel but not suitably ventilated away from the smokers. For this reason, I will never go back.
Food was nice enough.
Guinness glasses could do with updating, I had one from 2008 so the Guinness wasn’t the greatest.
Everything...Staff very friendly & helpful...food very tasty...nice size room & comfortable bed..
