Relax assicurato
Pros:

Favoloso angolo di pace, con un bellissimo giardino. Le camere sono ampie, con un bel terrazzo.
Sulla west bank ma a circa 800 mt dalla sponda del Nilo, dove con 1 dollaro a testa si transita sulla east bank.
Noi venivamo stanchi da una crociera per cui abbiamo apprezzato la bella piscina ed una stanza con materassini per meditazione e relax. Buona colazione, con cuoco che al mattino cucina omelette fresche. Assolutamente consigliato

L’Embrace Hotel est un établissement intimiste, à l’architecture typiquement égyptienne, qui évoque le charme d’une maison traditionnelle. Un lieu plein de caractère, particulièrement dépaysant, avec son joli jardin intérieur aux allures d’oasis, qui contraste merveilleusement avec les paysages arides environnants.

L’accueil y est particulièrement chaleureux et sincère. On s’y sent rapidement comme chez soi, tant il est facile de sympathiser avec les membres du personnel, attentionnés et disponibles pour répondre à la moindre demande.

Les chambres offrent un confort simple et fonctionnel, en adéquation avec les tarifs très accessibles de l’établissement. Le petit-déjeuner, proposé sous forme de buffet, reste assez modeste dans sa variété, mais nous avons particulièrement apprécié les omelettes fraîchement préparées ainsi que les boissons.

Petit détail attendrissant : vous croiserez probablement un ou deux adorables chats, particulièrement sociables et affectueux, qui participent eux aussi au charme des lieux !

Une belle adresse pour ceux qui recherchent l’authenticité, la convivialité et le dépaysement plutôt que le luxe. Nous en gardons un excellent souvenir !

Amazing stay in this charming converted monastery. Lots of character and very peaceful.

I chose Embrace Hotel mainly because I was attracted by its beautiful courtyard and architecture, and I stayed there with a group of women while organizing a women’s retreat.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the actual experience came with a number of very unpleasant surprises. First of all, the breakfast was more of a snack than an actual breakfast, and unfortunately, it was not good at all. The positive side is that the hotel cats certainly enjoyed it.

As for the restaurant, being in Egypt, I expected to have the opportunity to discover some traditional Egyptian food. Instead, the menu consisted mostly of standard dishes that you can find almost anywhere. On top of that, it took approximately one hour for an order to arrive, and even the coffee was not good.

However, the most serious issue had nothing to do with the food or the service, but with my personal safety inside the hotel.

I had an extremely uncomfortable experience with the owner’s eldest son, Kareem, who repeatedly made unwanted advances towards me and gave me personal compliments that went far beyond what I considered appropriate in an interaction between hotel staff or management and a guest. I made it very clear that I was not interested and also told him that I am in a relationship. Despite this, he did not respect that boundary and continued to approach me and insist. His behavior made me feel harassed and, most importantly, unsafe.

The situation became uncomfortable enough that the women participating in the retreat I was organizing began accompanying me whenever I moved around the hotel because they were concerned about me being approached by him again when I was alone.

Even in my own room, in order to feel safe enough to sleep, I made sure that my door was locked twice and that the balcony door was securely closed. I believe that the fact that a guest feels the need to take these kinds of precautions inside a hotel says enough about the seriousness of the experience.

Another disappointing aspect was the complete lack of flexibility. Even though the hotel was almost empty, I asked whether I could extend my check-out time by just two hours, but my request was refused.

Bel posto molto caratteristico buon hotel. Personale gentile e attento. Molto cortese ed educato. Buona la pulizia. Nel bagno una bellissima doccia. Le camere dotate di frigo. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.
