Very comfortable and clean small hotel near to Karak castle. Proprietors we’re very helpful and kind.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The space a bit small but that’s what I paid for😃. The place is convenient to get to just off the main road into town and easy access to the town. Osama was most friendly and directed us to this local kebab place that was really great value
great place, nice staff. very comfortable and well located. highly recommended.
I was very fortunate to stay here. This was my "halfway point" between Amman and Petra, and I was able to see the Kerak Castle the next morning. I loved the big bedroom (the bedroom of the previous owner of the house), and the giant bathroom which was as big as the bedroom. The hotel had a special historic feel to it - and had everything I needed to rest and relax.
Thank you to the Cairwan Hotel staff for your hospitality.
Basic and friendly hotel across the valley from Karak Caste. About 20-25 min walk to castle. Bus station at bottom of hill is 5 min walk from hotel. I was there in February so cold at night but heating in rooms was good. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast cost 4JD and was good-eggs, houmous, bread, etc. Dinner available for 7JD but I ate out (a 5 min walk up from the hotel brings you to an area with lots of restaurants and a very nice new cafe with cakes). Owner very helpful and made every effort to help with anything I wanted to do in the area. Free cinnamon tea served at 8pm, which is a nice touch and allows you to mingle with other guests.
Nice place to stay with friendly staff who recommended very good cheap local places to eat and advised us on our onward journey.
If you walk to the castle, it is not far but first part on a road without pavement.
The hotel is nicely located on a hillside overlooking the city and castle. Cheap transportation is easy to find. The Caiwan could be a cozy little hotel with a great view from the breakfast area, but it’s condition very sad. Many things are in illrepair: hot water available only a few hours per day, comes out at such a trickle that showering is nearly impossible. I didn’t. The toilet was not properly attached to the floor. The carpet was dirty, and the 1950ies television had a serious wires dangling below it. The place should be closed and fully refurbished.
That said, the breakfast, not included, was fine, and the staff polite, but this did not make up for the general condition of the place.
