This is definitely, by far, the worst hotel/motel experience I've ever dealt with. I went here with my girlfriend because it was late and we were desperate for a place to stay, since we visited a disgusting hotel right before. Everything inside our room smelled like mold. It was even visible on the ceiling. For some reason, there were dead bugs and dead flies everywhere around the room, like if they couldn't even survive being in this room. The bathtub and sink were both extremely disgusting and crusty. The shower head was completely covered in rust (see pictures) and would spray water that smelled like rust. There were also uncovered wires coming out of the wall next to the tv which could pose a serious hazard. The room had a refrigerator that was barely cold and reeked of mold and who knows what. Since my girlfriend has lung problems, she refused to sleep inside and had to sleep in the car for the whole night because the mold can seriously affect her. We might as well had not taken the room. This is filthy and unacceptable. Don't stay here.
Booked online at choicehotels.com for 2 days, 5 weeks in advance. I arrived to check in at 11:00 pm 8/13/2016, no one was there, the lights were out, and it had a sign saying closed for renovations. No one answered the phone number on the door. Nearby hotel prices at 11:00 pm on a Saturday night were criminal. I arrived back home at 6:30 am. I would recommend starting the renovation with a bulldozer or explosives.
Ok, this was a last minute decision to come to Atlantic City and the hotel was inexpensive and it was a
Saturday night. The pictures looked like it was a decent place to stay. Well, the pictures don't quite
match the property. This is an old strip motel, kind of like the mom and pop lodging you used to see
traveling before interstates. It's a $40 room with a $100 web presence, but it worked. The hotel is
below average, but it's not terrible. The owners of this property do the best they can with this property.
It's an old strip motel, nothing more, nothing less.
First some positives.....Microwave in room works, refrigerator in room works, nice flat screen tv works,
wireless internet works, AC looks new and works, tile floors in room are clean and look fairly new. All in all the place was clean.
Now the negatives..... Shower is seriously outdated and very small but decent water pressure and we did have hot water,
bed very soft, bring your own pillow, no iron or ironing board in room, no coffee maker in room (but they do have coffee at the office and she
made a fresh pot for us).
Would we stay here again, probably not, but if we had to, it is not something you can't handle for 1 or 2
nights. The price is not bad for what you get, it is not that far from the action of AC, and the staff we
met were very nice.
Spent over $40 both nights, not too bad for as close to Atlantic City as you get. Nice skyline of AC from the hotel. Rooms are basic, outdated bed linen, and sheets, but nice working plasma tv, microwave and refrigerator. Rooms could definitely use curtains on the windows, blinds don't cut it, especially in the morning when the sun is shining in. Staff are pretty helpful. No breakfast at this hotel, staff will make coffee if want it.
They were nice. But they do no up keep on place. Ceiling plaster fell down it was raining . It was clean ok but it needs a lot of work. Was close to Atlantic City i will never stay there again did not feel safe
Lets put it this way. I paid only $29 for the room because it was the dead of winter, but If i was paying much more than this, it would get a lower rating. The room was basic, the covers i didnt trust however. The place seemed to be a small-run operation, but for the basics, it was okay for me.
just as i rated it ...its just average if you want go to AC to do a night club or go to the casino then this is the place to go for a good night sleep THATS ALL.....the place is outdated...thou the staff is good ...no problem checking in or out...beds are comfortable and clean.....that all i want no more for the price you pay
This hotel is awesome. It is cheap and so of course its not super fancy, but it has everything you need and the people working there are super nice and helpful. It is a very calm and relaxed atmosphere and a great view of the city skyline. The blankets were really pretty and the room was very comfortable and had all the necessities provided. The hotel is in a convenient location to easily travel into the city. They give you free coffee in the lobby in the morning. They also offer smoking rooms which is so cool. I would definitely stay there again.
I should have listened to the reviews on here and stayed somewhere else but it was the most reasonable price for my trip. Night Auditor was rude at check. Toilet had pee on it and floor was dirty. Phone didn't work and I was already in PJS so I slept on top of the covers. When I complained to the manager he said not my problem and said no refund. Came back in and got and business card. His son came up to me and saw I was upset. I explained what happened and he gave me a 50% refund. That made up for some of the problems but I don't recommend that you stay here.
Lock is broken - reported to motel owner who insist and told us it's safe. Broken TV cabinet. Dirty toilets with looks like someone shave in sink. Dirty towel with hair on it. When flush, the water doesn't go down, huge table blocking the whole closet . Need to walk around to hang my jacket. 2 of the lights wasn't working. Never will stay in a roadway inn again. Beware!
Hello everyone, I'm a loyal Rodeway Inn Absecon customer since 2008 and once again in August 2013 I stayed at the Rodeway Inn. Service was great as always. Had our bed made daily, new towels daily, and garbage emptied daily. They also had new everything in the room due to superstorm Sandy. New matresses, new furniture, new flat screan TV's, new area rugs! And once again, no bugs at all! I recommend people to stay here! My brother was staying over at the Country Suites in and our room was twice the size of his room and half of the price!
This Rodeway Inn isn't as bad as everyone says it is. I was a little worried upon arrival because the outside of the hotel does not look like the pictures anymore. When we checked in (the front office was very small and a little "tired" looking, but the front desk clerk was extremely nice) my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to find that they had upgraded us to a king bed suite for our entire four night stay. We stayed in room 118.
The room was very spacious and accommodating. Upon arrival, the A/C was not already turned on in our room, so it was a little hot but this is probably because they weren't anticipating putting us in that room since we had booked a room with two double beds. It wasn't a big deal, we turned on the A/C, unloaded our things, and went out to dinner. By the time we returned, the room was nice and cool.
The next morning, we went to the beach and after we returned, we found that the housekeeper had made our bed perfectly, cleaned the entire bathroom again, and even straightened up some of the things we had left on the table. The next day, we tipped him. Housekeeping did a great job our entire stay.
You could say that this hotel is strictly a "no frills" place to stay, but what do you expect for the price? It was clean, the staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, and it was a nice room.
The only downside to our stay was the last night there, the ceiling did begin to leak. It was pouring outside, so we understood. We just placed our ice bucket under the drip, then told management about it. They were extremely nice and even offered to switch our rooms but we declined, it was only one more night. The staff was very understanding and even said that they had just gotten their ceilings replaced 6 months ago. It wasn't a big deal to us because it was only one more night.
Overall, a good place to stay for a weekend getaway. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, cheap place to stay!
Hi i'm from Ottawa, Canada and I've been staying at this Rodeway Inn every August since 2008 and I have no complaints. I've always had good service here. No bed bugs, no dirty towels, no dirty sheets. I've worked in a couple of hotels and this one is nothing compared to what i've seen. I've never had a mosquito problem here or greenheads, but it's around the bay and swampy land so of course there a bugs flying around in summer humid weather. I've never had a problem with the staff either. All I say is don't judge a place unless you experience it for yourself. I didn't excpect much of a breakfast here but I always either go out or bring my own groceries. I think it's a good price for the value you get. I've always stayed in rooms 115 and 118 and the rooms are largly spaced and clean.
Steer clear. The place is in terrible shape, but at $225 was about the cheapest I could find for a Saturday night (note to self: book in advance). The bedspread was stained, though the sheets weren't. The toilet didn't work well. The towels were stained, and when I took them to the front desk to replace them, we probably went through 10-20 bath towels to find a single one that wasn't stained, during which the clerk made some excuse about how it's natural for towels to be stained after they're used a few times, as if me wanting one clean towel was an unreasonable expectation.
The deal breaker was when I was laying in bed the next morning and found either a tick or a bedbug crawling on the pillow next to my head. It was filled with bright red blood (until I squished it). Now, I didn't see more than one, and I was at an outdoor concert the previous night, so it could have been a tick I brought in, but a review on another site by a guy who encountered a lot of bedbugs leads me to believe it could've been a lone bedbug and I got very lucky not bringing it home with me. I told the front desk, she denied it. I took her to the room and showed where I'd killed it & the dead bug on the toilet paper I used, and she insisted I brought it in, or that I left my hotel room door open too long and let it in from outside--either way, my fault again, right?
She did say she would refund my second night's stay (I booked for two nights, and found the bug after the first night), and give me a partial refund on the first night. I didn't look at my receipt from them closely, though, since I was in such a hurry to get out of there; it showed a line that said "Guest Refund," but instead of subtracting the amount, it added it, which is what got charged to my credit card. Now, this amount did get taken off in a separate credit card transaction, leaving my charges at the full first night, but that partial refund she promised is nowhere to be seen.
I called and talked to someone about it, who had very poor communication skills, and after talking in circles with her for 20 minutes and expending all the patience I could muster, eventually got her to take my number and say she'd have the owner give me a call. That was two weeks ago, and of course, no word. She said her name was Daxa, and the owner's name is Vinesh Patel.
Not A Family Oriented Place AT ALL!!!! There is no continental breakfast, They just offer coffee. As far as I know not everyone drinks coffee especially children. A Parakeet flies around in the office. There are not any snacks in the vending machine. Mosquitoes attack you when you walk out the door. The room has a very musty smell,as I sprayed half a bottle of Victoria Secret just to get a decent smell in the room. The Front desk calls you in the morning to remind you to check out at 12pm. Just Horrible, if you must stay in the area the comfort inn is right next door, and at least the offer you a hot breakfast and mean it.....
Oh my goodness, talk about false advertising. The moment we drove up to this place, we immediately knew this wasn't for us. When we arrived one of the room doors were open. It looked like a run-down dilapidated hole in the wall. It also did not look like a safe place to stay or park your car. Needless to say we immediately cancelled our two day night. Unfortunately, we were only able to get one day back. PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE. RUN.....
When we arrived at MOTEL HELL it was terrible and the online description of the room was all a major lie. First, they said they offered complimentary breakfast but when I asked the woman behind the counter she said no all we offer is coffee and juice. I was like wow, but I'm glad they didn't offer pastries or anything of that nature because they had either a parakeet or parrot flying around their office as if the bird was a contestant in an air show. Second, the room we booked was a king bed suite that was supposed to come with a jacuzzi but of course they told us that expedia/hotels. com were false advertising. The room we originally were in had a mild mildew odor and the AC wasn't functioning properly. We left to hit the casinos and when we returned like three in the morning after the nasty storm all the power was off and so was the water. Our roof in our room was leaking and there was a huge puddle of water on the floor. They had to switch us to another room. We started off in room 118 then got moved to 126. That room reeked of MILDEW, had so many bugs, the shower had mold, the bathroom ceiling was leaking and my pregnant cousin almost slipped. It was thee WORST!!! TRying to get our money back was the worst because of the third party... The management which consists of Indians were rude and lacking empathy... I would rather sleep at a bus terminal then to EVER pay them a visit or give up money AGAIN... They are a joke and that INN needs to be CONDEMNED FOREVER... DON'T DO IT PLEASE RIDE PAST THIS MOTEL FROM HELL AND DON'T LOOK BACK...
My family stayed here for 1 night, we just wanted a comfy place to sleep after a day at the beach. Never Again!!!!! The place was filled with Mosquitos, my husband killed at least 50 & we still got bit all night long! The phone in our room did not work & we wanted to order a pizza so my husband went to the front desk to use the phone, while there he told the night clerk about the bugs and all he did was offer us bug spray which by the way he never brought to us! My kids saw the hot tub and wanted to play in it, I filled it up and it looked okay then we put on the jets and the water literally turned green & had some type of film floating on the top! We drained the water and refilled the tub 4 times thinking it just hadn't been used in awhile and needed to be cleaned out but the problem was never solved! The room smelled like mildew, we had to hang car air freshners from the air conditioner! We told the lady at the desk about the issues at checkout and she said she couldn't do anything for us because we should have told them earlier even though my husband told the guy the night before! Stay Away!!
We tried to stay there on a sat night. The toilet wouldn't flush not because of a missing chain but it had completely disappeared , even where it connected to the toilet flapper was gone and the tank inside had grown fur. We had to flush it with a coat hanger. The sheets were so stained we bought our own to go over top of theirs.....and then the power went out and that was the last straw. Not to say the fireworks outside our room wasn't interesting. After being completely blown off by the manager and brushed off like flies at a picnic we resorted to sitting in the car to run the heat after all 25 degrees isn't very comfortable. The manager refused any refund and choice hotels non help line told us to call back monday. They said they would try to find us another room elsewhere but we had to pay for both which we refused to do. Long story short after 2 or 3 hrs fighting the manager we eventually got our money back but had to cancel ther rest of our weekend getaway and had to drive the 2 hrs back home.
