Great central Chiang Mai location and fab value
Pros:

Fabulous location for our needs.
Comfy beds (not rock hard)
Very helpful staff
Room to park the scooter
We have booked to stay again.

Cons:

Shower in our room was a little dodgy - needed a rose head repair

*not an issue but be aware there is a 500bht, cash room/key deposit. (we've been travelling in Thailand for 3 weeks and this is the first time this has been asked for). Receipt given so again not an issue - just don't arrive without some cash.

Great Hotel
Pros:

Very clean, room was lovely, cleaned every day if you want it and amazing for the price.

Cons:

Not a lot, it was great for us. Stopped in other hotels in Chiang Mai which were twice the price and half the quality.

Enjoyed the stay but there are many small things that need improving.
Pros:

Location is difficult to get to and with construction and a school nearby was not quiet.

Cons:

Foyer was cluttered. Staff did not seem interested. Room was ok but shower was blocked and balcony was wet and dirty. Very limited TV channels.

Schönes classisches Hotel mit liebevoller Einrichtung
Tolle Lage

Cons:

Der Eingangsbereich wurde als Ladengeschäft genutzt.
Es wurden Kleidungsstücke Gewürze und indischer Tee Angebote.
Es gab also keinen Ort des gepflegten Empfangs sondern einen zugestellten Laden.
Schade !

Not an expensive place to stay, but we’ve stayed other places which cost the same but were much nicer.

Cons:

Bathroom smelt like sewage, along with the surrounding area of the hotel. Need to ask to have your room cleaned, the ‘please clean my room’ sign on the door isn’t enough- if no one is on reception then it just won’t happen. It was my financés birthday whilst we were there so I messaged asking if it was possible to decorate the room for him and how much it would cost. They didn’t reply to my message and just left some petals on the bed and charged me for it. It wasn’t expensive but I was given no choice.

Quando siamo arrivati abbiamo dovuto aspettare una decina di minuti alla reception in quanto non c era nessuno, pero in generale la ragazza era molto cordiale

Ich würde sofort wieder in dieses Hotel gehen. Ist was Besonderes.
Pros:

Die Lage, der Charme, sehr sauber. Ruhige Lage in einer Seitenstraße. Es ist ein schönes altes Haus und daher - wie bei uns - etwas hellhörig mit den Holztüren und Holzböden wie ein Altbau. Die Fenster waren relativ neu.

Cons:

Ist nicht wirklich eine Kritik. Ich liebe Frühstück im Hotel, aber es gibt Kaffee im Zimmer und ein Cafe 3 Gehminuten weg.

Nice stay at The Velvet Orchid
Pros:

Room is clean & comfortable. It is centrally located, easy to get around the old town. Saturday walking street, and Sunday Walking Street are just about 10 minutes walk.

Cons:

There is an odor in the bathroom. Informed the very helpful housekeeper and was swiftly sprayed and refreshed. There are also a few mosquitoes around in room.
