First time to Sandcastles
Pros:

First time to Sandcastles. Comfortable Ocean front room. Large wide walkway behind property for walking, sitting, socializing n shopping n walking to the beach along the walkway. Cruise ships visible from my balcony. Beautiful view n landscape. Comfortable beds. Short walk to local shops, restaurants, entertainment
Affordable taxi service to attractions n tours. Felt safe. Walking n bicycle police patrol in the town day n night. Bar n cook shop across from pool. Local Foods delicious. Chef made whatever u wanted. Large restaurant above lobby area.

Cons:

AC in the living room stopped working after 2 days. Balcony furniture was dusty. Plants dieing. Table needs to be higher to comfortably enjoy my morning coffee. Difficult to use the TV in the living room. I am tv savy n I couldn't get it to work. Technician came n changed the remote batteries n reset the TV. Bedroom tv was not dlsimplr either but eventually figured it out. Instructions need to be written down when there are more than one remote for the systems. Housekeepers were very nice n attentive. Back gate to the beach opens and closes at 7am n 7pm. Would have like the freedom to go for early morning walks instead of having to walk around the town area. Steps. No elevators, 3 or 4 story property. I didn't see any Bellman. No Christmas decorations. I guess the management company didn't do anything special. Large TV in lobby played christmas music.

It was a great stay I really enjoyed it and would book again.
Pros:

The resort ws very nicely laid out and an ocean view was perfect. The breakfast was awesome in the resturant above reception, great and freindly staff. Pool was in great condition for swimming. It was in walking distance to many shops and resturants. Room was very clean and had pretty much everything you needed.

Cons:

There were a few things I would have changed - The bath soap was very low standard and no shampoo. It was time to change or clean the shower head. It would have been nice to have larger tvs that were wall mounted as I believe the hotel standard is a 48" now, as the were some rainy days to stay in.

RUN FOR THE HILLS DONT STAY HERE
Pros:

The staff. Ms Pat is a Ray of sunshine. She is the "Property Manager " awesome lady.

Location of the property

Cons:

The property owner was fully aware that there was no internet or television available, yet still allowed us to check in without disclosure.

Three of us stayed for three nights with no connectivity at all. He mentioned contacting Flow, the local internet provider, in advance — but frankly, that’s just an excuse. A temporary solution like MyWi could’ve been arranged with minimal effort.

He refunded us only $10 USD per night — a total of $90, just $30 per person — which doesn’t reflect the inconvenience we endured. We had work obligations throughout our stay, vacation or not, and this disruption severely impacted our plans. It was especially upsetting having to deal with constant messaging back and forth on my birthday, with zero empathy from the host.

Security on the property was deeply inadequate. The grounds didn’t feel safe, and there were troubling incidents, including male escorts openly picking up women — not something you'd expect in a secure environment.

I do not recommend staying here. No internet. No TV. And certainly not safe. We rented two of the owner’s properties, and unfortunately
expectations was not met. And it hurts because he knew in advance.

As someone who has traveled to 61 countries, I’ve never experienced such disregard for guest well-being or such a lackadaisical attitude toward hospitality.

Estadia agradável e segura.
Pros:

Cons:

O ventilador da sala está fraquinho, por isso precisamos utilizar o ar condicionado, mas depois vi que tem uma janela no corredor que ao ser aberta ventila bastante.

A wonderful stay and we can’t wait to come back !
Pros:

We had a corner suite, ocean facing and overlooking a local beach. The suite had beautiful large white tiles and comfortable furniture. We loved having the cross ventilation option. We didn’t use the air conditioners which is available, too.

Cons:

If I had to pick a negative, it’s the shower head. Much too large for the shower.

Lovely little room in the heart of Ocho Rios
Pros:

Wins: The location can't be beat! It's right in the middle of downtown Ocho Rios, the room had AC, a full kitchenette including a full-sized fridge, access to a pool and the beach, and it was reasonably priced!

Cons:

Not a negative just something I didn't know this from the website. This is a privately owned apartment. I thought I was booking a room at a hotel so that was a disconnect. Which means that there is no housekeeping, you can't pay at the hotel you need to use a link the owner sends. the front desk can't help you with any needs because it's not their property. So it's in essence an Airbnb type situation shaped like a hotel

It is a great location for a kingston get away.
Pros:

The restaurant was excellent, and the food was great. The staff was professional and friendly. The pool man was very diligent and kept the pool clean. The security at the back was very diligent. I felt safe there.

Sandcastles was adequate for our purposes.
Pros:

The host did a great job and was very responsive. I forgot one item in the room and she even offered to mail it to me. She was very helpful.

Cons:

There is no glass in the windows of the unit, so the outside noise was very loud. There was music on the beach every night and no way to block it out. The A/C unit worked because it was the rainy season and it wasn't very warm outside, but I'm not sure how well it work when it is hot.

Good
Pros:

The space was really lovely. The garden courtyard with the sun streaming through was lovely to see first thing.
My view from the room was stunning overlooking the beach.
Patricia was really nice.
I enjoyed playing pool by the bar and meeting other residents on the beach and by the bar.

Cons:

The Internet cut off for a day. I thought it was just impacting the TV at first, but it was the network. This meant my online check-in could not be done. Similarly, my transfer to the airport information could not be accessed.

The iron cord was a little short.
The fan in the living area stopped working.

I was told the restaurant wasn't open, but the pool bar was serving food. The food was good but unfortunately made my stomach a little wobbly both times. Please note that's my experience and the food tasted very nice.

There was a gate to the bridge, but it was always locked, ensuring the walk past vendors. It was a little inconvenience but fine.

Although I know things are difficult and there is a heavy reliance on tourism, sometimes the 'hustle' was uncomfortable.
